Beaufort Bay National Preserve (Alaska Arctic Circle)

I know we just got a snow map not too long ago…but hear me out on this one.

Alaska is big enough to have multiple reserves so why not have another one?

This reserve is going to take place during mid-winter near the place I have circled on the picture of Alaska.

Ahh yes, the species list…14 total. 11 New and 3 returners

I could not think of a Firearm to pair with this reserve though. Thoughts?

My problem here is that waterfowl on a mid winter Alaska map just doesn't make sense. It hardly makes sense on Askiy Ridge as it is, even though that's my favorite reserve so far. Other than that, I like the list! Maybe a big bore lever action?

Malamutes were historically used to distract bears

And I think Standard Poodles would be cool to see

If we have to go the gun route

Then a Ruger No1 would be my choice

I just want something that can drop class 7-9, Im using the Vallgarda .375 right now but i wonder if theres anything better (Probably the .308 ZARZA-10)

I’d say a .338 but we have one

.45-70 has plenty of guns

.338 (3) and 45-70 (2? I don’t see how that’s plenty but ok) may have multiple guns but none of them did the calibers any justice at all.

Hell, one of the .338’s isn’t even a real gun!

Honestly should have got that with SRP. Doesn't really fit this map that well, but that's absolutely a gun I want in the game.

Honestly a bit of a sleeper round that nobody thinks of but might be cool would be 7.92x57mm Mauser, AKA the 8mm Mauser. It’s a great round that is used on Deer, Elk, Bears, Moose, and Bison, and I would bet it could do a number on a Polar Bear or Musk Ox too.

Could also use the rimmed version (8x57mm IRS) in either a break action 2-shot rifle or a combination gun like the Grelck Drilling Rifle which is already in game.

I tend to think of Musk Ox as more Alaskan thanks to Nunivak Island, which is where I plan to try and go if I ever decide to Musk Ox hunt. Polar Bears feel Canadian to me but I could see them on an Arctic Alaskan map.

Lotta people seem to regret their Nunivak hunts it seems, more so than Greenland and Canada.

I think 8MM Mauser could potentially be class 9?

The other caliber I think could be added is .30-40 Krag

I was thinking .30-40 Krag, as people use it on Nilgai in Texas, but idk how well it could stand up against Polar Bears. 8mm could definitely be a Class 9 though.

Tbh they mostly regret those hunts because they’re expensive, like 10k-15k per Oxen after buying the tag, licenses, guides, etc.

Still, I wouldn’t mind seeing Musk Ox come with an Alaska map, nor would I mind them coming with a Canada or Greenland map (seeing as Greenland is actually a viable map since we still have none of the Arctic Big Game yet).

I’m Sorry, but to me polar bear should be (class 9) I mean, it is literally only the largest bear species in the world it is also the largest terrestrial carnivore in the face of the Earth seeing such a Giant and Tough Apex Predator in (Class 8) to me just feels wrong
