#Florida Abandoned Park Reserve Concept

This is a concept that I just thought of. You know the abandoned disney's river country in Florida? Well...Imagine if that was expanded into a reserve area?

Like a massive resort that has been taken over by nature. So much so that the park has became one with the swamp. Animals roam this once-livley resort. Lots of waterpark themed attractions, and some other stuff like golf corses. Almost like an apocalipse happened and humanity is long-gone. However, a ton of invasive species call this place home. And the Warden has tasked you with managing their numbers.

Species List (27 Total) If it's in Bold it's new

  • Class 1:

Egyptian Goose
Muscovy Duck
Eastern Wild Turkey
Indian Peafowl
Feral Pigeon
Wilson’s Snipe
Nile Monitor
Argentina Tegu
Green Iguana
Marsh Rabbit
Fox Squirrel
Burmese Python

  • Class 2:

Red Fox
Rhesus Macaque
Bobcat
Coyote
Common Raccoon
Striped Skunk
Virginia Opossum
Nutria
Nine-Banded Armadillo

  • Class 3:

Axis Deer

  • Class 4:

White-Tailed Deer

  • Class 5:

Florida Panther

Class 7:

Black Bear
American Alligator

There is an abundance of small game animals, so you'll be using a low caliber weapon a lot. Like a .22 or a Shotgun w/birdshot. And there are some large game animals as well so you don't get bored.

27 is quite a lot, but 21/27 are small game animals.

Also putting the Burmese Python in a class was kinda hard. But I landed on class 1. I guess they could make it so a headshot will count as a vital shot. They are taken with .22LR and birdshot all the time so I put them in Class 1.

Update:

Moved the Burmese Python to Class 2 and added the Red-Eared Slider to Class 1

is it too much?

I will say, if we are to get a Florida map I’d much rather it feel as natural as possible. Not many people see such a beautiful side of Florida.

Maybe the entire area doesn’t have to be amusement park based

Like it takes up a corner of the map maybe

#

Like you get to see the pretty side of Florida as well

But there’s that ugly center of the map you can’t entirely ignore

Decided to update it

Removed the Florida Panther and added the American River Otter

And adjusted the classes

(The .22H is going to have a field day here lmao)

Like actual giant sea turtles?

The Nilgai would be cool

Yet idk how big too big of an animal lineup would be

#

I feel like the ai on the map will start to break if there’s above a certain amount of animals

I wouldn't really list the Florida panther as a new species its just a renamed Puma/Mountain lion but regardless nice list

The only place that lists the ability to hunt freshwater turtle(that is remotely big enough that a .22LR wouldn’t vaporize) is Louisiana and hunting Alligator Snapping Turtles

But they kinda just…scoop them up in nets and not shoot them

They'd be a good ambience to have around like the seagulls on layton

I never noticed that really but regardless I love the concept of hunting an abandoned park

I think you can still keep Florida Panther they could finally be that much needed remaster and rework that “Cougars/Pumas/Mountain Lions” Need… since you know technically they are the same animal! Also being a large cat, they definitely need to have lower population and be more stealthy and elusive

surreal brook
#

That is correct

Should I round out this reserve at 30 animals then?

Well the map is at 28 right now

Capybaras would take it up to 29

surreal brook

Maybe I can get rid of the Tegu

#

And maybe the Armadillo

Yeah there’s the Nile Monitor already

surreal brook
#

Updated

Removed the Tegu(RIP), and added the Capybara

And also added back the Panther(As the Puma)

#

Because hitting 30 on a reserve may be a bit too much

Also 3 reptiles on one reserve is enough, Tegus and Monitors would fulfill the same role in a way

Why the Eastern wild and not the Osceola ? Beautiful Birds .... would make a great Grand Slam trophy ....

surreal brook

They almost look the same but alright

Here’s a comparison. The photo on the left is an Osceola, the photo on the right is an Eastern. The Osceola is significantly darker than the Eastern, and it has more irregular streaks of white. They’re also usually scrawnier than Easterns.
