Here in canada, i see big raccoons everywhere, the ones in cotw are so small its nearly impossible to see, but i never even seen a raccoon that small, and the coyotes are so small and skinny they look like dik dik antelopes but into a dog. also there is so many problems with other species, here is some mechanics, reworks and updates for many here are some changes i think would be better:

Raccon changes: Class bumped up from class 2 to Class 3 along with a slighty bigger model
New tree climbing Mechanic: When a raccoon flees, it will run up into a big tree and hide somewhere in the tree

Coyote Changes: Coyotes are the size as a Medium sized dog, not a dik dik. and there model is so bad. I think They should Remodel, Upgrade from Class 2 to Class 3 along with a slight size change. also make the legs less boney

Lion Pride: Instead of 2 males, Lone females, we should get hufe prides, of them. maybe a coalation of females. or a ordinary 1 male bunch female group, they are not solitary!

Fake small white birds: remove those birds you cant shoot, it sucks

Complete remodels: it needs complete remodel, so does the grand slam ibex, wild boar, euro bison and blacktail
Yellow wheat around the lakes in layton, hirsh and other maps: why are there so much wheat or whatever around the lakes the size as my character like i cant see nothing

Cougar/Puma/Mountain lion rework: They need remodel, badly also they make sounds every minute i play in northern silver ridge

Predator spook mechanic needs to be fixed: How does a lynx or bobcat spook moose but not bears. Lynx should spook everything thats class 4 under, for bobcat its class 3 and under for Lion, everything besides buffalo Tiger everything besides water buffalo, Additionaly, snow leopards should spook tahr and blue sheep and etc.

Grizzly bear updates: Grizzly bear needs a huge remodel. Make them bigger then brown bears, and make them agressive to hunters, they flee all the time.

Raccoons may get huge but Raccoons are still way too small to be class 3s along with stuff like axis deer, hog deer and javelina to name a few coyotes would fit but not Raccoons

I have a question. Does the 223 work for raccoons irl? .... or it's unethical.

Though the real adventure is preparing various culture dishes. In alot of cases you wouldn't believe you're eating the same animal with how different the flavor is.

Raccoons in the same class as chamois and axis deer?

they should remain as C:2 with 22LR reclassed to 1-2 is what makes the most sense to me. Though I agree they should get size scaled considering avg. 15-40lbs. (yes I'm aware they can be bigger 😅)

#

@radiant storm is right more often than not most ppl use 22, 25, 410ga, 20ga, 12ga, 9mm. 45LC is a first I'm hearing about but at the same time @late gorge does have a point that bc they're a pest/invasive ppl use what they have to get rid of them. In my experience in the city most use PCP's .177 up to .30cal in the outskirts sidearms, 22LR, 22Mag, 22H, & ofc Shotguns up to 12ga. Though I did talk to a farmer here that uses a Ruger Ranch in .223 with NV to clear out the hordes.

I didn’t even think of PCP’s, they’re definitely becoming one of the raccoon guns nowadays.

I have a Hatsan Jet ll with a Sumo Moderator. I need to invest in a tac light for it though its a pain to cross holed a torch & reload since its a lever. I'd love to get a semi auto down the road.

When it comes to trash pandas we have a stupid amount of them. To put it into perspective last year the state mailed wanted adds to clear them out. They offered to pay for the whole carcass. This included fox, skunks, & opossums.

Love the idea of treeing coons and cougars. Hound dogs like the black & tand or blue coonhound would be a great addition to the game

# carmine briar i never tried raccoon or hunted, but i seen people say it tasted bad.

Yea alot of game will vary from person to person but it all comes down to how its prepared. For me I cant acquire a taste for duck & geese. Squirrels it really does depend on how its prepared. Last time I ate squirrels it was like eating calamari & extremely greasy it was horrible. Had they soaked it in salt water & boiled it 1st it would've helped alot. In terms of exotic meats, the weirdest thing I've eaten was a Conk Snail. It was like eating a dessert the meat was so sweet & tender on one of my study trips. Went to the Osa Peninsula for Zoology (2005) & the Bahamas for Marine Biology (2006).

# carmine briar Oh alright

Yea you can find recipes and theirs alot of books out there. Like I said you could cook the same meat & in alot of cases you wouldn't believe your eating the same game depending on how its prepared. I'll admit the culinary arts from culture to culture is a world wonder if you're a foody 🤣. Coon wise I prefer to Smoke or BBQ them but Cajin style is pretty wild as well although despite my attempts I havn't been able to replicate the recipe when I was in Georgia. Its like Prairie Dogs alot of ppl will tell you you cant eat them however you go to Wyoming they eat them often. So I tell everyone to try new things atleast 3x's to be sure.
