Boasting one of the largest expanses of rainforest in the northeast of Madagascar, Makira Natural Park is home to a wide variety of native flora and fauna. However, the island's iconic lemurs are currently threatened by invasive wildlife and poachers seeking to break free from poverty through the urban bushmeat trade. You, the hunter, have been tasked with regulating animal populations and disposing of traps in the region by local wardens.
Just something I came up with during my vacation in Prague after a daytrip to the city zoo. I'm not sure if this will be reflective of the northeast region, but here is a species list I came up with for a generic Madagascar map:
-African Pygmy Goose (class 1)
-Humblot's Heron (class 1)
-Mallard (returning)
-Red-billed Teal (class 1)
-White-faced Whistling Duck (class 1)
-Madagascar Crested Ibis (class 1)
-Madagascar Ponchard (class 1, limited population)
-Madagascan Flying Fox (class 1)
-Common Tenrec (class 1)
-Ring-tailed Lemur (class 2)
-Red Ruffed Lemur (class 2)
-White Sifaka (class 2)
-Indri (class 2)
-Malagasy Civet (class 2)
-Fossa (class 3)
-Fallow Deer (returning)
-Red River Hog (class 5)
-Nile Crocodile (class 8)
-Zebu (class 9)
I know primates are not in the game currently, but I feel lemurs would be essential for a Madagascar map. Perhaps they could have skittish behaviour and run up trees near their zones to hide from players or fossas, their natural predators. Maybe something akin to how beavers hide underwater or how rabbits hide in burrows. I would love to hear anyone else's ideas for a map like this.
