📝 Proposal for an Alternative System for Great One Spawns and Rare Fur Variants

🎯 Goal: Reduce excessive grinding and promote ethical, strategic hunting while increasing the chances of spawning Great Ones and rare fur variants.

🔧 Proposed Mechanics

  1. Kill Count Requirement• Each species would have a set number of kills (determined by the developers) required to unlock the potential spawn of a Great One.
    • This number would be reasonable and transparent, allowing players to plan their hunts without needing to harvest hundreds of animals.

  2. Respect-Based Shot System• The chances of spawning rare fur variants and Great Ones would be influenced by a Respect Score, based on:• ✅ Vital organ hits
    • ✅ No damage to trophy organs (e.g., skull, antlers)
    • ✅ Use of appropriate ammunition for the species
    • ✅ Animal is harvested with two shots or fewer

  3. System Effects• The more the player adheres to these respectful hunting practices, the higher the chance to spawn:• A Great One
    • A rare fur variation
    • A higher-quality trophy

🌿 Benefits

• Encourages responsible and immersive hunting
• Reduces grind fatigue and burnout
• Rewards player skill and precision over volume
• Supports trophy diversity for collectors
• Creates a more balanced experience for both casual and dedicated players

Hi, your idea isn’t bad, but it makes the appearance of a Great One too easy, whereas my proposal preserves the game’s classic mechanics by making it simpler to obtain a Great One or rare colors—without taking away the reward and Grail-like status that a Great One represents.

It’s a system that also lets casual or newer players enjoy the game without growing bored.

Not to mention the various additional contents that could be grafted onto this feature, if that’s possible. 😊

You must not have read the OP very well because it covers several methods presented by many different users ... and what you have proposed is very similar to what others have proposed as well ....

This is why that thread has 290+ endorsements .... If you would like I can include Your suggestion in the list of proposed solutions ....

The overall idea of all these solutions is not to do away with grinding .... It's already too entrenched in the game and many players like grinding ....

So what we want is a solution and preferably more than just one solution that will coexist with grinding as an alternate way to get a G1 .... If your goal is to replace grinding that wont happen ....

I have a few few things to say. Firstly, rare furs are completely RNG. They don't have a higher chance of spawning in a grind, and there's no way to increase the spawn rates of one. Secondly, grinding isn't difficult. I don't like grinding, but I have a setup for Mule deer and I shoot like 10 deer per day, maybe more if I'm in the mood. The game is too far gone to fix the entire grinding thing and too far gone to promote "ethical hunting." I think most players just need to accept that Great one grinding will be the only way to get great ones for a long time.

The best thing EW could do is bring back initial spawn great ones. They can't add this, because this would upset a huge amount of players who have worked hard grinding.
