Ik hunting is illegal there but a place i would love to hunt is China, spare me the details i’ve come to understand their dislikes of hunting, but i’d like to hunting we can cross that barrier further down the line, hopefully earlier than you’d expect

Some DLCs for the existing and future maps I'd like to see:

Snow maps - snowmobiles

Bear/cat maps - bait barrels for bears, treeing hounds (with various common bear hound options and the ability to run multiple dogs at a time) for bears, cats, coons, etc.

Africa - artificial waterholes, partially submerged pit blinds around those water holes, bait stations for Leopards, and finally spears and blowguns.

General DLCs:

More muzzleloader style (flintlock, caplock, in-line) and caliber options so all classes are covered including a fowling piece for birds.

Class upgrades and buffs for the lever action guns in this game, namely the .30-30 and .45-70.

Remington 7600/760 style pump action rifles, Browning BAR style semiauto rifles, Ruger No. 1 style single shot rifles, a Sharps .45-70 single shot, Browning BLR style box magazine lever action rifles, Henry style lever action .22 or .22 WMR/.17 HMR rifles, a Benelli style 28 gauge semiauto shotgun, a classic 28 gauge side-by-side shotgun, and a few different action options for a legit .410.

I saw that in the initial image there is a point in the south of France like my map, can I put it? After all, France is the hunting country in Europe.

For butan, any sign of life is sacred, and knowing that there is something like every life must be equal to another, there is therefore a prohibition to harm animals so I suppose that butan would not be possible, even if interesting

Feel like kyrgyzstan would be great, it is a great mountainous place with ibex, marco polos, and snow leopards.

What about….“Antarctica”?! Hunting for Seals Like Southern Elephant Seals, Leopard Seals, Crab Eater Seals Ect, Penguins, Sea Birds, ect?!….Or is Antarctica off Limits?! If not then…..How About….Hawaii, Or Japan?!

If it's a European map with remodels for European species, what could be better than the south of France? Hmm hmm
It's true, France is a neighbor of the two countries we have in the game and which are part of the European Union (Finland is also the case, but too far and too cold)

  • which means we can add the animals seen in the German and Spanish maps (not all of them, unfortunately, but a good number), with the added bonus of other species, each more interesting than the last (we're recently going to have European bison roaming freely in the Pyrenees. As for the European bison, I've seen some stories about the prefect requesting that they be slaughtered because they've escaped from their cages, so yes, one day). So, as for the European bison, it's more likely to be in places like Poland or elsewhere. But otherwise the south of France (so the Pyrenees, the Camargue, the Landes, the Massif Central and especially the Alps) are the ideal place.

Cambodia would also work (better then Bhutan as Bhutan did outlaw hunting in 1995 and apparently even fishing is heavily restricted in Bhutan) since there were attempts to open a hunting reserve in the early 2000's (2007 to 2009) and articles from 2022 about proposals for introducing hunting regulations, the devs could probably spin an interesting story for a Cambodian Reserve with the Gaur as the headliner species.

I still prefer France, there is more potential in terms of huntable animals, there are 91 hunted each year as a species plus those accepted to be shot by the prefect like wolves etc... I will see what species can be hunted in Switzerland.

after that I still prefer a pose in the North American and European maps

Not sure I would even buy all the maps listed in the OP ... Being a casual player more places to hunt (quantity) has less value for me than than overall quality of the reserves they create ...

  I would really rather see them work on some:

UI & weapon improvements,
animal updates,
equipment packs, (dlc)
more dog breeds, (dlc)
Trophy Shots, (dlc )
G1's without having to grind,
more trophy lodges with customization's, (dlc)
some mission packs to tie the reserves together (dlc)

I could go on and on but these are the things I'd rather see instead of more maps

In my opinion, it's extremely unlikely they'll add a map of Japan for several reasons:

  1. There's very little and limited game.
  2. If we add a map of the Alps and Japan, we'll leave TA without a unique species on the map. Therefore, one of the maps won't be made, and 98% of players prefer a map of the European Alps to one of Japan.
  3. Besides sika deer, pigs, and various birds, there's no other game.

I base this on the information I've researched about hunting in Japan and the fact that each hunting reserve in the game is supposed to have a unique species from the map to give each map exclusivity.

I believe this because they add many new species, not to mention the possible distinction between subspecies, with many places having a rich biodiversity, with existing and new species.

that would be a fair point regarding the "one exclusive species" rule - if New England Mountains didn't exist. That map has exactly zero unique species (unless you count the Bobcat as a separate species from the Mexican Bobcat on Rancho, but they are literally the same animal just with slightly different weights and names). Clearly, EW themselves haven't even held to that rule. Because of that, I think it's kind of ridiculous to outright say that it's "extremely unlikely" for us to get a map in Japan based on that. You can't possibly know that, especially considering EW's history of not exactly holding to that rule very closely.

Not to mention that even if they did hold to that rule, they could always add one or two more new species to Te Awaroa to help it keep its exclusivity (Paradise Ducks, anyone?) and that would automatically solve your problem. Also, Te Awaroa is still a pretty popular and well-liked map, last time I checked. I highly doubt that the addition of an Alps map and a Japan map would make it suddenly become completely irrelevant.

And I have no idea where you're getting "98% of players prefer a map of the European Alps to one of Japan" from, that's clearly a major exaggeration. Just look at the two most popular Alps map suggestion posts, both of those actually have fewer upvotes than the most popular Japan reserve suggestion.

You said "besides sika deer, pigs, and various birds, there's no other game", which clearly shows me that you have no idea what you're talking about regarding what animals live in Japan. And furthermore, even if that statement was true (which it's not), it's not like the only new species being birds has ever stopped EW from making a map in a specific location anyway, and Salzwiesen Park is proof of that.

In my opinion, Japan is just as likely to be the location of a future map as anywhere else that people have requested a lot.

It's true that the idea (at least the only one I know) of a Japanese map is much more upvoted than the most popular Alpine maps. But then in Asia, there are still quite a few that could be done so there is reason to say that Japan will not happen.

I would personally prefer Japan over the Alps for a simple reason

Europe is the second most represented part of the world after the United States, and therefore we need a bit of a break from not only US maps but also European maps, at least until we get a second South American and second African map

the normal Bobcat and Mexican Bobcat are basically the same. It's the same model, same fur types, pretty much the only difference is the name and the weight ranges for them. There is no meaningful difference between them in-game, unlike the Woodland and Grant's Caribou or the Plains Bison and Wood Bison (which have pretty major differences in the game). You're really splitting hairs here trying to claim that the Bobcat counts as a unique species for NEM. There really is no meaningful difference between it and the Mexican Bobcat on Rancho. For all intents and purposes they are basically the same.

You're 100% sure that a map in the Alps would win in a survey? How could you possibly know that? There's clearly more upvotes for a Japan reserve than an Alps reserve. You're grossly overestimating how many people want a map in the Alps, and I say that as the person who made the second most popular Alps reserve suggestion in this feedback channel who wants to get a map like that myself, so I'm not biased against it. The numbers don't lie.

and also you clearly missed the point I was making by bringing up Salzwiesen. My point was, even if we accepted your false premise that the only possible new animals on a Japan map would be "various birds" (which is not true, as others have already pointed out) that still has not stopped EW from making a map in particular locations in the past (Salzwiesen Park is a clear example), so why would it stop them now? Small game map or not, SP is proof that you can make a map where the only new species are birds, and people will still buy it.

It doesn't even matter anyway though, because your original argument that "besides sika deer, pigs, and various birds, there's no other game" is clearly false. The bottom line is, a map in Japan is definitely not off of the table entirely at this point.

yes but Japan being an island area, with therefore unique animals that I think we can say that we find nowhere else has a chance of being made, because we can already remove India and China which cannot be in a hunting game because it is strictly hunted there, Myanmar is much too dangerous, risk zones, civil war etc no thanks, so it remains in this part of Asia that Japan, probably the Philippines too (I don't know how hunting is here, I'll do some research,), Maybe Indonesia but I think that for this place, the chance is still pretty bad, maybe Papua New Guinea but I remember well it is not considered as part of Asia but of Oceania, remains more than the south-east of Russia, but well what could we hunt there, no tiger or leopard, that would be too bizarre, so remains that Japan for the east of Asia in any case.

Wild pigs, eagles, hawks, brown herons, owls, crows, English sparrows, galancian, and mayas may be hunted year-round. Okay, there may also be the Philippines, which is a pretty interesting choice because from what I see, it must be one of the only countries that allows hunting birds of prey. From what I've seen too (I must say that I quickly looked to see if hunting was possible there, and overall, these are the animals I saw) that there is also an endemic species of wild hog and a deer also from here that can be hunted. So for this part of Asia, either they can do Japan or the Philippines.

I don’t get why because China don’t allow hunting there irl we can’t have it in cotw? It’s a game available for anyones imagination, imo it should allow and give experiences you can’t really get in real life. As long as they can accurately create the landscapes and the animals and make a good story of it, i don’t see the problem: Again we can hunt snow leopards, tigers, European bison, all endangered and some are illegal to be hunted yet still we can, no matter irl problems, political issues or whatever, we should have the availability for any experience we prefer, not to what’s going on in real life.

Listen, for me if we can't hunt birds of prey because in reality we can't hunt them, for me it's the same thing for the place. You still have to keep a certain sense in a game. I don't know if in other hunting games, there are maps in countries normally prohibited. And certainly I understand this idea, but on the one hand, even if there are animals certainly not huntable in reality that are in the game it's true that it can be in favor of those who want in very prohibited places but on the other hand they are not animals so endangered in critical extinction like the okapie. It would personally be bizarre to have a map in China with giant penda and giant salamanders. Even if it's a game and I understand that, it needs a minimum of sense. But doing it in risky places, it doesn't make sense because we could have replaced them with much more promising places.

Edit: But I will look more into it just to be sure

Edit 2: From what I do remember, the last time any foreginers hunted in the Philippines the main targets were wild boar, warty pig and Carabao water buffalo though the outfitter that was operating there was looking to expand the species list for animals like saltwater crocodile, Philippine Sambar, mouse deer, palm civets and some other small game, unfortunately the only outfitter there was gored by a carabao and passed away from his injuries, this was back in 2015

Yes, some sources say it is illegal, others say it is possible. I just found this, it is an excerpt from the rules made by the Philippine government. There is also the Philippine Sambar, Philippine Warty Pig Sus philippensis, Reticulated Python Malayopython reticulatus, Common Monitor Lizard Varanus salvator and other large birds such as Rufous Hornbills Buceros hydrocorax, large dove species (i.e., Dacula spp.). The last species from Philippine Sambar are mostly for indigenous people.
All this to say that basically, if we need a map in East Asia, the most likely (even if I said that I wouldn't believe in a map in Japan) is Japan. In addition, there are quite a few interesting species

It's funny because I read an article (so probably it comes from a disreputable site) which said that this deer was endemic to the Philippines and could be hunted there. Well in any case, Asia whether South, North, West or East can send us to spectacular landscapes with animals each more unique than the other.

Ik it’s unfair to say we kinda got a Japan type of map with sundarpatan, but i’m just thinking of those cherryblossom forests and how we kinda have those on Sundarpatan, but that’s going by looks. I assume Japanese forests are less dense and filled with more life than the occasional fox and hare

after the species that speaks is really hunted for reasons that attack and because of him a dozen birds and others have literally disappeared from the surface of the planet, if in reality it is possible to hunt it is because it is possible to hunt it, despite its small size. in addition, in the game there are small birds very very small and very very short at the level of the body and yet they are in the game.

Yes, it's a US location but it's not just another US Reserve we currently have it's the US Western Frontier with New Features, Depth in Narrative & Character Arcs, and if EW follows the details, players will also get new mounts for our lodges. Hey, a suggestion to anyone reading this and is interested: i would really like a map suggestion of the arabian desert (camels, oryx, nubian ibex, caracals and snakes, sand cats and so on) i haven’t done much research but it would be really cool to play on a map like this
