Hi! Im new to the game and i dont know if this is a common occurence for PC players as well, but there are certain times where i will go to my map to add a waypoint, and when i hover on the add waypoint it changes to “cancel” so both options are now cancel, and when i back out and reselect my map it wont let me add a waypoint or fast travel to locations. This has happened to me on multiple maps and i have to close app every time. Play on the regular PS5

I'm sorry to hear you experienced trouble with fast-traveling and placing waypoints on your map.
We have received similar reports about issues with making these actions in the map menu when using a controller, and our team is investigating the problem internally.
In case it occurs in your game in the meantime, please try pressing the up and down buttons on your controller's d-pad to see if the options change from "Cancel" back to the correct ones. If not, we can only recommend closing the game and launching it again, as you have mentioned doing.
