We've been noticing that many people have reported issues with audio and would like to get more info for our devs. Please tell us where and how it happens, give us any relevant video evidence, and let us know what platform you're on. Being able to replicate the bug helps our team figure out what might be causing it!

We are especially interested if you've been experiencing the bug where a bush sound follows you.

Hi all,
To add in, all supported consoles continuously record gameplay in the background which lets players rewind and capture what just happened. Seeing the exact steps leading up to each concern helps us reproduce them more consistently and search for a solution.

and with the bush it happens decently often in places with alot of bushes thats all i know
also i think its not just sound the bottom right says youre making alot of noise iirc

The bush noise got worse, to my mind. There are many places where you just can't get rid of it, even when walking on a road. Sometimes this ties in with the animal spooking sound-o-meter being at a high level (higher than usual for that walking style). This issue is around for many years now and annoys a lot.

If i had to tell, where it happens i wouldn't have finished the report until next month... fulltime job. It is also not always 100% reprodiceable in the same area on the map. So don't get me wrong, dear devs, but... you should actually PLAY your own game and see the bugs (not only sound...) yourself. We as community can't flood the threads with thousands of map places, where this happens.

This issue needs a dedicated bug analysis strategy from dev side and not only local fixing of certain reported spots. This is like picking up certain reported crumbs from the ground instead of using the vacuum cleaner to get the job done properly.

Don't get me wrong, I am neither angry nor mad... Just a little bit sad, that this particular issue persists for years, like many other bugs.

(Issue filed many a time... for me it's on PS5, but all platforms are affected as far as I know)

I’m on Xbox series x and have the bush noise bug, it happens on most maps. I’ve submitted a video in the past to report the bug. It happened to me at the main outpost on the Alberta reserve near some rocks just before the little bridge. It’s not just the fact that the noise follows you, but it adds to the noise I make and using headphones the sound is quite loud, it ruins all immersion in a hunt because all I can hear is that horrible scratch scratch, worst sound in the game.

I've had issues with animals making the wrong calls. For example, I've heard geese make moose sounds. It has happened on almost all reserves I have hunted on.

Today i had the bush noise (on my ears and also with a increased noise level on the sound-o-meter) even when crossing shallow water on Askiy Ridge at a beaver feeding zone. It becomes more and more ridiculous. Only fast travel helped.
I came back to the same spot ( maybe on a slightly different path ) - no noise.... this is completely random. That's why I won't post anymore videos and map places, where it happend,... it is not worth my time.
Dear Devs! Please fix this in a dedicated bug fix session. Take your time and fix this... for this and for all maps. I would also be fine if a content upgrade would be postponed, in favor for a definitive bugfix for the endless bush noise bug (which spooks also all the animals and ruins your hunt, when it happens... see sound-o-meter.)

That bush sound bug is the main reason I enjoyed the treestand thing. It made hunts way more enjoyable for me, due to things I won't get into here. However, that was since fixed and so I have stopped playing the game on console. Solely due to the bush sound bug.

On xbox series x and get bush noise on most maps if not all, noise just persists no matter where you walk even try to stop and stop walking to get rid of it and it can last for some time and just ruins the game as all you hear is scratching

Snow goose calls aren’t authentic, they reuse Canada goose calls instead of authentic irl calls were never implemented,
same here with the Magpie goose their calls are also not authentic,they reuse Greylag goose calls instead of Irl audio which was also never implemented,
all cow elk subspecies make bull elk bugle calls which they shouldn’t,
Javan Rusa Got their mating and warning calls mixed up with red deer since the rapid rifle weapon pack came out,
Pumas and mountain lions still make that insanely annoying purring call,
Bull and Cow Moose calls aren’t authentic to real life there just brown bear and red deer calls played in reverse,
Hog deer call are still not authentic, they still reuse roe deer calls,
And the Northern Pintail and Wood Ducks Don’t Have Authentic calls when they are flying , they Reuse Mallard calls in the sky but there authentic when they’re on the ground,
Wild boar,Feral Pig, Warthog, Collard peccary, and Eurasian Lynx Play Their Mating calls instead of their warning calls when they Go In the Alert and alarmed stance.
All these audio bugs and inaccuracies are active as of the The Alberta Canada Patch.

It’s Realy annoying and Immersive breaking for me when I hear animals in video games with inaccurate audio and bugged calls

Greenwing teal don’t make any noise on Mississippi (not sure if that’s intended?)

The sound calls in Mississippi are very glitchy, you can hear the animal but no sound indicator shows anywhere (frequent for bear, alligator, and turkey) They also often show the wrong animal for the type of call, ex. Alligator fleeing will show greenwing teal call, or gator calls will seem to come from the sky

Turkeys call for far too long when using Turkey callers, the sounds overlap, and sometimes they just won’t respond at all

New bear calls sounds like they’re right next to you, even 200 yds away

Snow geese on Askiy honk continuously even while dead
(Re-adding some others have mentioned, to show they are common bugs. This is all on PS4 as well, fully updated game)

The bush sound issue is one of the BIGGEST issues that plagues the maps, especially noticeable on maps with lots of foliage. You can walk on the road and still hear brush+make lots of noise despite doing everything to reduce it.

Eurasian lynx still don't make warning calls after over a year of the bug being present. I brought this to Jaxy's attention about a year ago and he said the devs knew about it and were going to fix it soon. Yet... here we are.

Green-winged teal make no sound. Even when they land on water, there's no audio for that.

Elk on Askiy are make the wrong sound. Females are bugling while males are mewing.

Turkey decoys make a loud water splash sound when they're deployed.

Harlequin duck volume seems excessively loud right as they're coming in to land.

The bush sound bug is the worst bug in the game, for me it normally happens (randomly) when walking through trees and bushes. once you clear the tree/bush the sound of walking through them persists. Its not only a noise it increases the noise you make when walking, in every stance it increases the noise you make by 1 bar on your sound meter. So when your trying to creep up on an animal using slow crouch you are in fact making the same amount of noise as fast crouch. This makes it impossible to creep up on anything because of the amount of noise generated.

That bush sound has been in for years at this point. I bet I can fire up version 1.0 of this game and find it on Hirsch within minutes. Doubt it will ever get fixed. Heck, they have been asking us to send in screenshots of the exact spot on whatever map it's happening on, but it only happens sometimes. We may walk right by a bush and be fine then the next time boom. Even the ATV suffers from it as sometimes you're riding on asphalt and it sounds (and feels) like there's underbrush and twigs under your tires.

I’ve noticed the issue comes up when running through alot of foliage, the longer you’ve ran through it the longer the audiobug will stay, if i just rush through a bush (this doesn’t happen everytime but when it does) the bug stays for lets say 5 seconds, but when i play in a forested/bushy area and get out of it (if i don’t get out of it the bug stays until you get to someother type of ground) the bug can stay up to what feels like 3 minutes. And since it can re-appear at random, it could sometimes be the thing you hear most throughout your session

I wouldn't mind the bug so much if it didn't actually do anything, but since it adds unnecessary noise to your character it really puts a damper on a good hunt if you have to prone crawl 100m or more because the animals are already warning calling you at 200m+.

I would welcome as a temp fix that they make walking through bushes not affect your sound meter, at least that way you can still hunt effectively and only have to put up with the sound of it. I'm not sure if its anything to do with it but I find I get the sound bug more when wearing the gillie suit, although it does happen no matter what costume your wearing. what makes it most annoying for me is that this is a hunting game, the whole thing revolves around being as quiet as you possibly can the same as hunting IRL. Having a bug that increases your noise lvl is just frustrating as all hell.

I've been having an audio bug when online since the beginning.

Many times I was being the scope and my friend the shooter, I heard a shot my friend didn't make.
Many times we got confused with "why did you shoot, I didn't count yet" and the other like "I didn't want to shoot but you shot first."
I was confused why it occurs.

I thought it's randomly occuring but was hoping the ghost shot doesn't scare animals, that it's just audio.

HOWEVER it DOES make animals FLEE.
Nobody shoots, the audio glitch happens and the animals get spooked.

I was getting angry why it happens.

And today I FINALLY found why it happens:

It happens when one of the players near each other have a BINOCULARS in hand and the other is SWITCHING GUNS (by numbers on keyboards, I don't know if other versions do the same)

Whenever one have binoculars in hands and other is switching guns, a shot sound appears and it SPOOKS animals like a real shot.

Maybe it needs to be looked at.

For now I can't play watchman-shooter with my friend :/

It did when friend was switching guns by numbers on keyboard while I was holding binoculars. Friend confirmed it does for them when the roles were reversed. It doesn't happen until one of us have a binoculars in hands.

I'm on PS5 and can confirm that bush sounds is on every map I've played (not sure about Asiky though). Sound stick to you when you walk and it affects sound-o-meter in game and spooks animals. It'sreally frustrating!!😡

Playing on Emerald Coast today, trying to finish mission where you need to kill 150 deer either Javan, Red or Sambar.

I'm following my dog because he's locked in to some big game scent and there it is 200m away big lvl 5 Sambar resting somewhere between trees and hills (possible 💎).
Notice that I'm little bit shaky because it's the 1st lvl5 Sambar I've seen so far on this map and it's been a while since I started playing so I'm excited 😊

Dog is sneaking and so am I, blindly following my 4 legged mate to the prey so I can get clear shot, but can't because they're tree's everywhere and hills so I can't get a clear shot.
Dog is already pointing and barking dafaq on my 💎 Sambar and while I move left for clearer line of shot our old bush sound glued to me from nowhere. I dive to the ground, weary that might spook the prey and politely waiting, thinking maybe bush sound will go away but it didn't. Animal got tired of listening to my dog yapping at him so decided to move away, I tried to follow but bush sound got the best of me and that was it. Sound-o-meter went on 2 red bars just by making 2 steps and Sambar bolted like it was hit by lightning.
And there I was standing in the middle of a Australian bush with rifle in my hands, my dog and empty belly thinking.... How dafaq it is so difficult to fix such annoying sound bug in the game???🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 This is our bush that we all have attached to legs and carry it through leafy hunting grounds.

I tracked down the problem last fall but it seem yall didn't have time to look into it. It has been there since 2020 bush noise. This is how u can get it to bug. While running through bushes on Medved Hirschfeld or any heavy brush. While running hit another command like track or spot a animal. U have to be running and doing another command to make it bug. If you have problems getting it to bug, let me know and I'll give cords on exactly the spots to try it so u can duplicate.

How to get it to stop. Get out of thick bushes and look through your binos 3 times. It will go away. U have to be in a clear area for it to work. The bug is when the ai does 2 commands at one time. Run through thick bushes and it has the bush noise going and then u do another command as in hitting a track or spotting. It can't handle 2 commands at once.

The issue with that is that some play sessions the spots that have the bush sound bug won't, so even if we send over the exact locations, there ain't a guarantee that it'll be able to be replicated on your end. I've done extensive testing on most maps and have seen that a lot of the time the same spots won't produce the bug whereas the same spots in other sessions will. It's weird. Platform doesn't matter either, I had the same results on PC, Xbox Series X and PS5.

Ik this is a support thread feel free to respond if you want to: will there be a coming patch in a week or smthn, because just like the update with the release of Sundarpatan there was a lot of issues and fixes that was recognized and fixed in a patch like a month later, and now we have a similar situation. Can you please confirm this because i think is speak for many of us that we are unhappy with some guns that need balancing, and of course the elephant in the room; this thread posted some days after the update. What is your answer to this?

Yes, I've had the audio bug whether performing an action and not. And I have yet to find a method to actually get rid of it save for exiting to main menu. I have stood around for 5 minutes and got it to stop, but who wants to do that 🙂 On my next play session (which should be later this evening) I'll document any problem areas and what I was doing at the time. See if I can replicate the issue. It seems for now we're all complaining but I ain't sure if anyone's taken the time to just sit there and experiment with trying to get the bug to pop as we'd all like it to be gone lol

Noticed on PS5: Random bush/tree noise, and ambient sounds cut/changes instant. For example: Walking on a path, the ambience can go silence, and a few seconds later it returns at instant loud level (no fade).

PC, Askiy Ridge map....Female Elk make Male elk vocalizations and Male Elk make female Elk vocalizations. This happened with the map release and the last update has not fixed the issue. Haven't hunted the other Elk species on Silver Ridge Peaks or Layton Lakes, so cannot speak to those maps and the elk calls. Female Elk do not Bugle. Please fix in a future update. Thank you.

On Askiy ridge at night in mountainous regions you will hear crickets chirping and frogs croaking in the snow. A prime example is the starting outpost.

Id also like to add the deafening noise that plays whenever you enter/exit the trophy lodge. It's like a door opening noise & confirmation noise at the same time
