I can play this game for hours. For days and really, really am enjoying it. Then it just decides to crash (too technical?). In the past, over the years, I've filled out the reports as the devs requested. But can find no resolution or to be frank, if anyone is even listening (or cares?).
So, as usual, I'll give it one more crash, then switch back to Way of the Hunter (WotH) for a month or two. WotH does not crash (well, very, very rarely). I like CotW better and am (was) especially enjoying the new Alberta map. In the past, I have given the game as many as eight crashes in as many hours. Never again. Two is now the max, then it is back to WotH.
May I make a suggestion: if you are not going to fix, or cannot fix the stability problem, please, please, please return me to the point in the game, the point on the map where the crash occurred and not back at a lodge, losing all progress. The game autosaves, why can this not be done? Why can you not return me to the point in the game where the crash occurred? WotH very rarely crashes. In well over 700 hours (more? haven't looked lately) the game has crashed maybe twice but when it did, when restarting the game, I was back on the map where it crashed and not at some lodge.
This morning I had just downed a whitetail in Alberta, was getting ready to harvest when the game crashed. Clicked on send the report, then restarted the game but again, now I'm back at the original (nearest) lodge. Lost the whitetail. Lost my place in the map. Lost my patience. Gained some expletive deleted.
But maybe I should be somewhat thankful as the computer is now shut down, I've taken out some frustrations writing this tome, and now I'll actually get some needed chores done around the house. Oh well.
