Welcome to Minnesota hunter! Here you can hunt a wide variety of Waterfowl, upland game birds and maybe even some other species! We hope you enjoy your stay here in the Marshland hunting reserve.

So, in game we already have a European Waterfowl map. Now we need an American one. My suggestion is one in the beautiful state of Minnesota. This map would be Salzwiesen size with a wide variety of different Birds.

Species list

Blue-winged teal (NEW)
Gadwall
Sora (New)
Wood duck
American Wigeon (New)
Mallard
Bufflehead (New)
Northern Pintail
Ruddy Duck (New)
Goldeneye
Northern Shovler (New)
Hooded Merganser (New)
American coot (New)
Canada goose
Ross Goose (New)
Sandhill crane (New)
Ruffed Grouse (New)
Sharp-tailed Grouse (New)
Ring- necked pheasant (Rework [?] )
Red fox
Coyote (New great one + rework)
Bobcat (rework)
Gray fox (rework)
Raccoon (rework)
River otter
Whitetail deer (rework)
Eastern Wild turkey (Rework for all turkeys and tru-beards/spurs)
American timberdoodle (New)
American black duck (New)
Green-winged teal

Hunt these amazing species with the reserves signature weapon, the 28 gauge pump shotgun, perfect to take with you when you’re trudging through the swamps, searching for that one elusive trophy.

If we ever get a NA small game map I really hope we’d get turkey and woodcock on it. I’d swap out pheasant for woodcock and add eastern wild turkey. maybe swap red fox for badger too

merry berry
#

I tried to add woodcock, but it gave me a warning for “swearing” lol

#

Turkeys could be cool though, I’ll make sure to add them!

Another suggestion I have for this map is a on-map trophy lodge, mainly focused on housing all the Waterfowl you may come across during your adventures. A North American paid dlc trophy lodge would be awesome as well, with lots of Plaques for the smallest of game, to the biggest.

Personally Minnesota would be a better map, since we already have a Mississippi map that borders Arkansas, but the Mid west region hasn’t gotten any maps yet. But it’s just my opinion 🖤

But Minnesota is one of the most visualy boring places for a COTW map I could imagine

Your from Minnesota aren't you?

Idk why but I just like the mid west for no apparent reason lol

Minnesota is crazy theres like a professor here that always starts everything with "when I was in Minnesota"

Just living here in Minnesota I can agree this would be an accurate map

merry berry

This reserve could also be useful as a “filler” or “Backfill” map, With a wide variety of Waterfowl that could fit on a lot of North American maps. For example, ruddy duck on SRP, or Ruffed Grouse on Layton.

I don’t wanna sound rude but could we maybe not discuss a Parque rework on a completely unrelated thread?

sterile igloo

Considering that cinnamon teal and loons are apparently not the best fits for a Minnesota Map, I was wondering how birds like the Wilson's Snipe, American Woodcock, Sora, Virginia Rail and American Coots would fit considering that they are all water birds and we have not seen any kind of snipe, woodcock or rail in this game despite multiple maps being very suitable for these kinds of birds

merry berry
#

I’ll be adding the American coot and the Sora to the list, removing Cinnamon teals and loons.

Me neither had to Google that to

I wonder how EW will implement Timberdoodles if they ever do so. Apparently they are the slowest flying bird in the world, and I wonder if EW would give them the same flying speed as Pheasants or actually change it.

Timberdoodle is such a silly name

merry berry
#

I agree lol, but It wouldn’t work let me say woodcock for profanity reasons xD

merry berry
#

This map could also run through the Mississippi river. I was thinking to have the river on the far east of the map. Then a lot of other wetland areas on the east side.

How to map could possibly look, apologies for the horrible art, I don’t have anything to do digital art on and I’m no artist so this’ll have to do. Once again, my apologies.

Idk if anyone else noticed this but the new dusky grouse have a position in the lodge that looks exactly like the prairie chicken display, it could just be a coincidence but maybe it means they’re planning on adding them soon?

What you did is so uncool. You firstly named your post “Marshlands of Minnesota” basically copied my posts name, and then use the exact same species list, just adding lynx. Seriously dude that’s really not cool, because I worked hard to make this and didn’t want it to get ripped off.

NEW MULTI MOUNTS:

Birds of a feather fly together: All ducks on the map in one mount (NA duck out)

Hungry Coyote: Coyote attacking sandhill crane

Double Goose: Snow goose and Canada Goose

Sneaky otter: Otter sneaking up on three wood ducks (1 female, 2 males, wood ducks should be able to be substituted with any duck species on Marshland Reserve)

These are so cool! I’d love them on another reserve (Btw second pic is him next to a leu wood duck)

I just made a post recently with similar ideas, but I feel like this map would be that win that all of us midwest hunters are looking for.

~ 55-60% of all hunters in the US live in midwestern states, a map like this would be great representation.

Even if just 1% of midwestern hunters played the game, that is around 80,000 people who would get the chance to hunt in a familiar setting.

Love this idea @merry berry

#

Blue winged teal and ruddy duck would also probably be my 2 faves to hunt.

#

Potholes or flooded timber would be great, also just a wide open corn field like what we actually hunt up here. Midwest sized!

#

My suggestions (slimmed down list):
Ruddy duck (New)
Northern Pintail
Mallards
Hooded Merganser (New)
American Black duck (New) -basically a reskinned mallard
American Wigeon (New)
Gadwall
Wood duck
Blue-winged teal (New)
-basically reskinned gw teal
Canvasback (New)
Ruffed Grouse (New)
Ring-necked Pheasant
Either woodcock or bobwhite
Canada Goose
Snow goose
Coyote
Raccoon
Gray fox
Eastern wild turkeys (Rework + truBeards/spurs)
Whitetail Deer

  • reworks on sounds for certain duck species (woodies no longer quack lol)

With the introduction of the new Scotland map and American Mink being on it, I think it could be a great addition to this map concept! I’d probably substitute them for the River otter.

(I didn’t give up on this concept, just took a break from the game, my apologies for inactivity)

Man the Mallards need a rework and a few new rares..

#

This was my idea for a mallard rework. I also think Blonde should become common for hens, but rare for Drakes. I also think Leucistic should be available for Hen and Drake.
