In COTW, we have a map called "Silver Ridge Peaks". It’s located in the southern Rocky Mountains of North America! In my opinion, it’s one of the well most acknowledged and well known maps in COTW! But it’s a very outdated map and it could have some new features and reworks, just to enhance the experience in this map! Some of these new features would be snow in the rockies, Shiras Moose backfill and many species reworks and subspecies distribution!

This map could benefit from some new Species, here is a list of some species that should be Backfilled

Backfillings

  • Gadwall
  • Northern Pintail
  • Green-winged Teal
  • Ring-necked Pheasant
  • White-tailed Jackrabbit
  • American Badger
  • Plains Coyote
  • Shiras Moose

A lot of animals on this map need reworks. Here is a few that would work perfectly on this amazing map:

Reworks:

Some other things that could be added:
Notes:

And finally, some nice graphical changes! One that would be epic would be Dynamic Weather with Snow in the far top of the mountains.

This map has so much potential to be the best map ever. The rockies is an iconic hunting location and this map is so much fun. EW, please consider this!

Awesome collaboration with @hollow siren!

Make a greatone elk with it

Reworking the RM Elk is the priority number 1. Fix the drinking zone when Black Bear and Elk drink together.

Might I also suggest the addition of White-tail Jackrabbits. A rabbit could also be nice.

I think Dusky Grouse would be a great addition to SRP as well.

#

This map shows the range for both the Dusky and Sooty Grouse. As you can see, Dusky Grouse can be found throughout the Rocky Mountain region as far south as New Mexico

These are the Range maps for Canada Goose and Snow goose. The first one is the Canadian and the Second is the Snow. Personally I believe Canada Goose would work better, but both are awesome to add.

As Cutterito has said, the Wapiti and Black bears should not drink together. I personally think Black Bear should drink at night again. Obviously the great one grinders will probably moan, but it’s best this way for realism.

#

Also, Black bears should be renamed to American Black bears, it’s time we start getting sub-species

In Askiy map I don't rise my head because tired of ducks and geese. Irl they don't fly constantly and everywhere. I thought Salz...map became a perfect solution for this problem. Ton of different waterfowl and geese in one place. But not. Now no one new map without them. Bad trend. Coyote, badger, rabbit, ptarmigan, pheasant, grouse... OK. Waterfowl and geese no no no.

I feel like SRP should have at least one waterfowl species, it has so many lakes that would be perfect for ducks. That being said, I agree with MooseDragon, not every map needs waterfowl.

For Silver Ridge something like Blue-winged Teal or Lesser Scaup would work imo

I think it would be pretty fun to shoot a few ducks at some of the lakes on the map

#

I think Cinnamon Teal and Pintail would be good backfill options, and Blue Winged Teal if they're willing to add a new duck species to an existing map

#

I used to think mallards would be a great addition to SRP as well, but they're on so many other maps now that it wouldn't really add much to the map.

Smaller moose species sounds cool

I think bears drinking in the morning and then Elk drinking in the evening makes the most sense to me.

I'm obsessed about the badgers and i like the drink time for the bears and elk

I think all the older maps could use a rework to bring them up to the standards of some of the newer maps ... ...

Unfortunately the amount of dev time needed to do these reworks is hard to justify when they can't really charge $$ for them again ....

Maybe Gray and Red Fox too, and maybe Swift Fox for new Species….Also I think Snowshoe Hare and Canadian Lynx live in Colorado too right?!

Canada Lynx are a better fit for Yukon Valley or Askiy Ridge (you know, the map that's actually in Canada)

No hate but Silver ridge peaks isnt a waterfowl and geese map its based in the rockies and there is no rivers in Silver ridge

Considering the amount of lakes on the map (And the amount of Big game) Waterfowl are kinda needed to help round things out. And these are Suggestions 👏not 👏everything 👏 needs 👏to 👏be 👏added !!!! It’s simply a lot of options for the devs to pick and choose from…

Edit: Also Colorado is extremely popular for waterfowl hunting too

Then they should have made the map look more like a reserve for waterfowl, right now it looks like a place for the animals in it, big hills and valleys with some mountains. I have a hard time seeing waterfowl fitting into the map at all even if there are lakes (which btw every map has lakes and it doesn’t give enough reason to add waterfowl). I’d rather have a separate smaller map

# hollow siren Okay, but explain this to me… Askiy Ridge: Does it have big hills/mountains? ✅ ...

Askiy ridge has an entire riversystem connected to big lakes and dams, it looks like a place waterfowl should be. Think of it like this, if the alps were introduced as the next map, the waterfowl would still be in the wetlands, yes sure geese land on fields, but not the dry fields that are on SRP. The whole american rockies experience would be ruined, the entire issue is just that they don’t fit in on the map. I think the lakes are too spread out as well which makes less sense for those kinds of birds to be on that reserve

My opinion is that Silver Ridge could do with some waterfowl, especially since Colorado is quite popular for it. I just reckon that a bit of a touch with a bird could make the lakes just more interesting..
