So… a cool backfill idea for Med-ved taiga could be musk ox. imagine walking through snowy forests and seeing a herd of musk ox feeding. these massive creatures mainly live in canada and greenland, but they also live in Russia (med ved) their massive size and cool fur would be one of the top animals to hunt.
They would be class 9 and the furs they can have are:

Brown (common)
Light Brown (Common)
Dark (common)
Piebald (rare)
Albino (very rare)

Drink time: 8:00 - 12:00
Feeding: 4:00 - 8:00 | 16:00 - 0:00
Resting: 0:00 - 4:00 | 12:00 - 16:00

Musk ox are herd animals which contain 5 up to 30

New mechanic : Dueling: Males in the group might duel, the duel will be a new mechanic that happen between the largest males to show dominince in the herd.

Here are some Pictures of An Albino musk ox with its herd. And a Male duel for dominince.

They don’t really live in the area medved is set (and haven’t for a few hundred years)

And Medved doesn’t really have the environment for them.

The best other near map that fits the Muskox is the Taymyr Peninsula. There the population is increasing.

Medved taïga is here ( is the purple circle )

#

The circle isn't exactly perfect, but basically the point without the purple circle is where COTW says Medved is, so where there is no musk ox.

as I explained below it circled wrong, Here is another map where the dark green represents where the medved taiga is located, it is called the Yamal peninsula

I was always told that it was there, otherwise on the game it is written that it is inspired in any case from around this peninsula I don't remember anymore, I remember that to have the information you have to go to the game, go to the place where you want to buy the maps etc... go to that of medved taiga and there will normally be a writing that will tell you a place which is precisely the Yamal peninsula plus the other peninsula opposite. And they say that it is inspired by this

It is supposed to be the Yamal Peninsula but EW did major creative differences (as they usually did back then)

like Vurhonga Savannah which looks nothing like Botswana or the Cascades Mountains of Layton Lake District which don't look much like real mountains

A northern part of Ural Mountains.

if you remember what I said when going into your game it will tell you a place which is both this peninsula there towards the south of this place there is what seems to be a mountain range and another place which is the place in front of this peninsula but Ayoliam always told me that it was the Yamal peninsula. I personally believe it even if I have already seen photos and this place looks more like what is to the north and northwest of the map

Or maybe it can be a Mission animal if they dont live there. just like Moose in te awaroa.

Example is Level 9 Piebald musk ox that migerated to the reserve due to climate change.

Or maybe make them really rare or can only be found in northern parts

In 1975, another 40 musk oxen were brought to the USSR, this time from Nunivak Island (Alaska). Half of them went to the Taymyr settlers, while the other half went to Wrangel Island in Chukotka. By the early 1990s, musk oxen had spread across Wrangel Island and northern Yakutia and they were then brought to the Yamal Peninsula.

#

but i dont think musk ox would fit in medved tho

There is no real tundra area, in summer it would have been possible because it prefers plateaus and hills but in winter it is plains and valleys. There are certainly some very open and large plains but it is not enough to be the habitat of this animal. I see it more in a Greenlandic or Canadian map

medved is too forested for musk ox

And most of Alaska’s muskox range isn’t even in this map!
