I decided to use the 30-30 in preparation for the new rifle only to find it almost unusable.
I shot several wolves in both lungs yet they were able to run away some distance before finally succumbing and a single lung shot on a caribou it managed to travel over 600 meters before finally dropping. I know that both these animals are at the maximum range of the rifle but a double lung shot whether fired single-ly or two separate shots usually is an instant kill.
I hoped this is looked into before the new rifle comes into the game otherwise I think it's will be an absolutely miserable experience using it.
