i know most people think thermal vision would be game breaking but it could easily be balanced for example giving it a fixed zoom for both bino's and scopes (say 6X) and not giving the bino's a rangefinder and if it was a Black Hot system it would make running whilst glassing/scoping harder. it could be bundled in a pack with for instance a tree tent (would fit Canada quite well) possibly called the "Hot and Cold pack".

Currently it is not possible to apply Thermal Vision since there are no textures that look like that in the game, to implement them you would have to add textures for each object, rock, plant, tree and animal in the game, basically it is redesigning the entire game again.
The opposite is the current night vision which consists only of a change in colors and contrast of the current textures, nothing that requires major changes.
that is why i suggested a black hot not a red hot thermal the game could use the nvg shaders set to white instead of green for terrain and have any animal set to black
Or the reverse (white animal vs the dark forest). More options for setting night vision.
That is the most possible option, although it would still require adding textures that are only visible with the special viewer, these would only be the same textures with high contrast and increased brightness 🤔
