With the new Alberta Canadian map arriving quite soon, Askiy Ridge! It seems a few animals have been reworked, such as the Mule deer, Mountain Goat and a few more. Which they look AMAZING!! But I think we need to give the good old Whitetail deer some love, it deserves a rework, it may not be as necessary as the Grizzly bear or Coyotes, but it should get one. I don’t really know how to explain what could be done, so forgive me if it’s a bit inaccurate. It could get a bit more fluff, a facial rework and most definitely more antler variants. Whitetail deer have so many antler varieties! Pointing in all different directions.

Now we step into the next part.. the Whitetail great one! It has no special fur variants except the Piebald, all the others are normal and really lame, they just don’t suit a great one? The racks we have are good in my opinion, but I think it could have the mighty fungus velvet rack! Just like Mule deer are receiving.

Potential G1 Furs:

  • Moonlit Pelage
  • Valtorian Fleece
  • Duneshine Sheen

New Furs:

  • Leucistic

Notes:

  • More piebald variations.

I would like this. I will feel bad for scarecrow if this happens - he's killed 30 - 40,000 whitetail and to improve them now after like 5 years since their great one would be very - I don't even know. They could definitely stand more antler variety! Instead of the same old racks and rack combos, individual tine variants would kill. Infinite kinds of racks with tine variants. Imagine that. You know what, maybe they should actually code their tails to whip up when they flee. They are whitetails after all.

Remodeling whitetail? Why? Whitetail seems good model and was remodeled well recently. Other species need urgent remodeling. I think Whitetail needs more variety of antlers.

I hope they added some more fur variations and antler variations for the Great One Whitetail if they updated them. I hoping for the same treatment for the Red Deer also.

I think the aspects of the Whitetail that most need rework is their behavior and the lower level males antlers which are really not too good looking

I'm for all of this except Great One fur variations. The "realistic" fur Great Ones look so much better on deer species. We just need better animations and an infinite variety of antler combinations as a whole.

My dad and wife have both gotten into the game a little bit, and Whitetails are a great starter species for them to hunt. I enjoy "guiding" them on my maps, but Whitetails have long since stopped being a species I deliberately go after. They're boring, and it's a shame because they're far and away the most popular big game species to hunt where they exist IRL.

Along with the remodel, they should also get leucistic as a fur. Obviously albino should be more pink and leucistic a tad grayer than the ones in the picture, but it should 100% happen considering it did with mule deer.

Would like to see some new racks for the Great Ones as well. Not super needed, of course. But I think some semi-palmated antlers like these (the second of which is local to me!) would be a neat addition to the crazy high-fenced racks that are represented.

Saw this buck on display at Cabelas recently. A rack that is based on this one would be great as a diamond Whitetail rack in COTW.

I think diamond racks should be based off state records, they did it with bighorn iirc with the remodel

heck, that would be a really cool great one fur type if they ever add some special ones for the Whitetails. They just better make sure that they don't completely fumble them like they did with the Muley G1, we don't need more pink and tiger-striped deer in this game.

Happy the mulies got another antler rework. That's the 2nd time. WT antlers haven't gotten any love since their original "truracks inception" many years ago. Let's GO team!! Please give WT the love they deserve

Here's one of my favorites from that article, the James Jordan buck. I'd love to see a diamond rack based on this, it has some great mass and nice looking browtines
