Opening up the whole east side of the map would be key in this. Can’t add all these mountain species without the mountains EW has so decidedly kept away from us.

cunning cape
#

I was gonna bring that up as well opening up more of the mountain biomes in rancho or completely replacing one biome to be more mountainous or hilly

#

This post was heavily inspired by #"How to Make SRP Great Again (Species reworks, redistribution, backfilling)" the same treatment to Rancho Del Arroyo would be amazing

#

Currently Rancho doesn't have much of the mountainous biome explored being only a small portion of the right side. Having more of it opened up or shifted into another area would be great to see

Coues Deer (Odocoileus virginianus couesi)

This may be controversial or a bad idea for some but whitetail on rancho should be replaced with coues deer, whitetail are already on enough maps being Mississippi Acres, Layton Lake, Revontuli Coast,New England Mountains, and now Askiy Ridge so I don't believe it would cause much harm

Maybe it's a stretch but how would you guys feel about jaguars getting added to the potential species list? But a small population like 8-10

versed wharf
#

If it has the environment for I don't say no, according to the latest news, the population has increased by 20% towards 2024-2025 to have in total 4800 specimens in Mexico.

As for the jaguar, we are in all everywhere in its distribution area between 64,000 for the most pessimistic and 173,000.

Just changed my mind, Bison would be awesome to hunt in the desert, as long as they get a remodel

cunning cape

See.

Plus there are populations of bison in mexico it'll make sense as a future addition

I'm sure we can all agree the plains bison need a new model, the current one is lackluster compared to the newcomer the wood bison I propose EW with this Rancho Del Arroyo Remaster they come back and remodel the Plains Bison (perhaps the Euro bison as well)
● Males having a rounder beard and having their head lower to the ground
● Newer long shaggy fur across the body and especially on the legs
● Males having more head fluff than the females
● Females being slightly smaller and having more of a visual difference than the Males as they should have

# cunning cape I'm sure we can all agree the plains bison need a new model, the current one is ...

Another remodel that could/should happen is the Puma/Mountain lion
○ Having more muscle and fur around the shoulders and stomach
○ Claws should stay unsheathed most of the time
○ The eyes being more rounded and less of an almond shape
○ Tail being much thicker and having a blacker tip at the end
○ Ears being less triangular and pointy and more round and smooth

Some behavioral and vocal changes could help the Puma too
○ Typically being more solitary and skittish often avoiding contact with either other pumas or humans but still having the chance to attack the player
○ They should also get the Bengal tiger and Snow leopard treatment having smaller populations across all maps possibly 16-20 individuals per map
○ Being ambush predators they shouldn't be running down their prey like they currently do in game they should sneak more before attacking or getting the jump on something
○ Pumas should have more distinct vocalizations as seen in the videos linked

Updating this thread once again due to something I completely forgot to bring up a while ago
In a recent update bighorn sheep have been all changed to "rocky mountain bighorn sheep" including the ones on rancho if those could get replaced by the correct desert bighorn sheep it would be wonderful and a step in the right direction for a rancho re do

Blue winged teal is a need such a uniqe duck, we are missing warm climate duck hunting and the best version of that would be desert ducks
