Welcome to Idaho! Here you’ll find some of the best upland game hunting in North America, alongside a variety of small game and waterfowl species. In this small wildlife refuge, named for one of Idahos most famous residents, William Borah, you’ll find a variety of environments such as forests, marshes, hills, and sagebrush plains, with Idahos “Big 9” upland game roster being the main attraction.

The .17 HMR is a great weapon for shooting Rabbits, Ground Dwelling Birds, and other small “varmints” up to the size of Bobcats. It is a great option for any small game hunter.

The maps species list will be updated if any species are added with this new map

If we get an idaho map i want it full sized. It's to good of a location for a Mini-Map imo.

This would be a good way to get a wide variety of North American Upland Game and a few new smaller mammals. The "Big 9" could also be a name of both a multi-mount and a mission for this map

For another smaller mammal I would like to suggest the Yellow-bellied Marmot/Rockchuck, marmots in general are one group of small game animals I wish to see on either a future North American Map (Would be cool to see some on the Alberta map) or future Asian Map

How could I forget about these little fellas! Marmots are everywhere here, they’d make for a great species on this map and perhaps a backfill to SRP could be in order.

I also wish to see more of them on future maps or as backfills on old maps, specifically I’d like to see:

  • Himalayan Marmots on Sundarpatan
  • Alpine Marmots on both Cuatro and Hirschfelden
  • Hoary Marmots on Yukon
  • Groundhogs on NEM and Mississippi

Would like to really see them makes some tweaks to pointer Dogs and Upland bird AI ...

Pointers need to hunt faster and hold point longer .... Birds (especially quail) still spook too soon not allowing the dogs and hunters to get in position.....

You got to change the Whitetail to Stone Sheep and the Cottontail to Wolverine and your spot on 👍 I would add Grizzly as well

Anybody have any other small game suggestions for the map?

I think Coyotes would be a good addition to this map. That gives us the possibility of getting a rework for them, which is very much needed.

A mini map for Idaho with upland birds is great

agile harness
# crimson hatch Porcupine and Sandhills would both fit well imo

Sandhills were a species I thought of but wasn’t sure about adding seeing as my vision for the map doesn’t have farmland, where they usually are found (also the reason I didn’t add Canada Geese), but Porcupines are definitely a species I would love to see. More small game like that is always welcome in my book. (Sandhills Cranes are still a species I really want, I just feel they’d fit better on a map like NEM or Mississippi Acres).

I have added Mountain Quail as a new species. They cannot actually be hunted in Idaho, but they are found in the state and I think they look cool.

Sundarpatan would have been a good map to give us Chukar

It's a pity that Idaho does not (apparently) have prairie dogs, but it sounds like a great mini-map!
