Dingos would be a very good addition to the whole reserve.
They could be found in the dry desert area and then all over the entire map.
They mostly come in tan colours but sometimes they regularly come in a tan and black coat.
There rares could be something like white and albino due to them being a bit rare in real life.
These amazing animals could also introduce the use of traps in game due to in Australia they use traps to keep the numbers down on properties.
I'd have to say that the dingo would be around class 3 or 4 although they drop easily when shot with a 223 in real life I'd put them in 3 or 4 just because there alot bigger and stronger than a fox.
Everyone please support this😁.

Yeah we NEED this
Yes
I can’t see them being much higher than 3 tbh. More than likely 2.
There’s no possible way I’d put them on the same level as axis deer, chamois, whitetail deer, tahr, and feral goats with lynx being the outlier as it’s entirely based on weight for them rather than what makes sense to hunt them with (most use .17HMR and .22 to incredible efficiency)
I think they should be class 4
At 30-40lbs? That’s like… 40% smaller than literally every other class 4 in the game.
Unless… do you happen to know of a type of monster dingo that gets upwards of 160lbs?
I still want it to be class 4
🤯
dingo-coyote copy
never say that again
Why? They are almost The same
no
No
Not one bit at all
A dingo is much smarter and look very different
Yes but there tanky little guys
That and the stuff people shoot them with is well above the class 4 range of the rifles in game
There much bigger than a fox so they can't be class 2
Pretty much how smart they are they could do it like snow leopard but with a higher amount but boost the level of the senses by alot
But then also have 1 pack in every different named area in emerald coast due to them having packs and territories with 1 big dominante male
do they hunt in packs like wolves or are they solitary hunters like coyote's ??
They do travel in packs, usually up to 12 with one dominant leader, normally being the female. Although it’s still common to find a Dingo by themselves. Sometimes they will be kicked out from the pack and forced to be solitary.
would be interesting to add them as class 3-4 but using the wolf pack AI ....
Hey @soft oyster ! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We’re always looking at ways to expand gameplay variety, and ideas like this really help shape that vision. With more of your thoughts, you can also contact us here: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
YIPPI
Sometimes people here in the states rocket coyotes with .300 Win Mag, does that mean that they should be 7 or 8?
I’d also like to mention coyotes are bigger. By quite a bit
on average and record wise…
And where not talking about those were talking about the dingo
No but the way this game works they needa get rid of animal class range since people hunt stuff like deer pigs and foxes with much bigger guns then what this game says
Ok thank you
Both
You used coyotes for most of your examples.
So, yes… we are talking about coyotes
And if dingoes are smaller than coyotes there’s no reason they should be any higher than 3. 2 is perfect especially in this case
There tanky
Very tanky
I can’t find any evidence for that claim.
It should be well documented? Something like say… african leopard
Are you gonna trust the guy thar hunts them or all that
The dingo isn't well documented
Also there's always that guy that when anyone has an idea they put them down
Your that guy
Are you the only dingo hunter in Australia? Historically absolutely not.
Also,
No and them things evolved man
You may have put a thumbs up but all you've done so far is put down on the ideas that really make sense about the animal
I agree with the idea but the execution… not so much, I’ve put forth my ideas.
Yh
The way the dingo is there smart and cunning
I think I wrote that word right
The things are a bit tanky enough to say we could put them at class 4
You see how tanky hog deer are when you shoot them with a normal class 3 gun
It'd be like that although they should probably also bump them up to class 4 when they decide to add a dingo just to make the animals make sense
Just so we can use something like a 308 because it'd be more ethical and make sense
Until dingoes learn to wear Kevlar, I can’t see any single way they’d make sense in 4.
That's because you haven't had to put up with them
Yeah but people of the past (back when Australia was much cooler) did.
Oi what's that meant to mean
Dingo's steal and eat babies who cares if they are killed ethically ?
Oh no shazza a dingo stole my baby last night (it rhymes with grug)
Your not one of those people so I'm not letting you have an opinion on an animal you seem to have no experience with
If you have no evidence other than “I’ve seent it with muh own eyes” then maybe you aren’t the best shot? Thats among the only reasons I can think of because not even history agrees with you.
Depends which ones your looking at
The ones in the moutains or desert ones
And I would video the things or take photos while there alive only problem is you can't get within 100 meters without seeing you
I tried sneaking in with the bow once and closest I got was 100 metersc
No way in hell would they be class 4
There just to tanky for class 3
That and we need an excuse to shoot them with a 308
That's a horrible excuse.. They should, at most, be class 3
If we could do 3 and a half that'd better suit them
That's why I said 4 because like we need to be able to use stuff like the bolt action 308
3 alone is kinda pushing it, 4 is just extreme. They're similar in size to a fox/coyote, about in between them. Way too small to be a class 4 animal which can be like seven times their weight
Nah to be honest some of the ones I've shot have been pretty big
Like enough to where i can just see it just pushing the point
Honestly I don't see a point in animals classes due to people using 300 mag on deer
300 win mag is perfectly fine on deer. 150gr’s preform phenomenally. Moot point
Exactly
We don't need class range
We need to just use the guns we want
Were they 140lbs big?
Half right, half wrong
I'm Australian I use kg mate
Within some semblance of a reason.
The class system is huge lump of ass, BUT should be replaced with a list of ethical calibers like in hunter classic
Google exists “mate”
63kg
Dingos are generally considered to be a subspecies of Gray Wolf, and they’re about the size of a coyote. They look fairly similar to both Coyotes and Dogs (or Coydogs which are found in parts of the US).
Biggest one I got would've been 80kg
It was a big old dog
are we talking about dingoes or feral dogs?
dingos dont get that heavy
in fact among modern canids only northwestern timber wolves in northern Canada get that heavy
and there's maybe a dozen legally owned dog breds that can hit that size
No way. The heaviest dingo on record weighed 55 kg (120 lbs). 80 kg is huge even for Gray Wolves, let alone Dingoes.
What organization did you put that one into? I’d love to see the entry.
I'm pretty sure it was a dingo and a normal dog that bread together
Which if they added that to the game as like what the upper end of the wieght estimate would make sense
Even then, it would’ve had to be bred with a gigantic dog. My English mastiff is a fully grown male and he barely weighs 80 kg.
think ur scales broken then
and on top of that probably been obese due to overfeeding, maybe by people who saw it and went "ooohhh puppy"
None
Why would I do that useless stuff
There was a bounty on dingos a very long time ago like the Tasmanian tiger tho so if that was still going I would've done an entry or stuff
Oh no it was out on my farm in the middle of knowhere
Also look at the feral pig for example
There upper estimate goes over 205kg
In this country you don't see that
Never said anything about bounties. I’m talking the government… because that (if it ever existed) would be record smashing.
Pigs can get gigantic. Even in Australia you’ll find pigs well over 500 pounds
We don't have anything like entry's for the government
Yes but really they'd have to make a dime pig more rare due to the average really really really big one being 140 to 160kg
Seems there’s a few hunting archives. I’m sure they’d be thrilled to see your contribution.
Then I didn't know
I'm only 14 why would I get into that stuff
I live in the middle of the desert I don't wanna put up with all there stuff
then that only really leaves hybridizing with an exceptionally large domestic dog
or alternatively a freak genetic mutation that basically shut of its growth inhibitory genes
Not necessarily. Diamond pigs are already fairly rare.
I found 9 in the last week but kept getting disconnect
They were all guaranteed and the severs were alg
And being on playstation I've never found a modded server
They are very not rare
Or I just got good pig luck
Dingos are a lot bigger then a fox
between 7 and 30 pounds is not far off from dingoes, lot of overlap actually.
Yeah but in size they are so much bigger
From a quick search on Google apparently Dingos are around a similar size to Coyotes and from looking at the Sport Shooters Association of Australia I found this bit about recommended calibres: "it is suggested that they not be shot with anything smaller than a .222 Remington, except at very close range. The .22-250 Remington and .243 Winchester are widely considered ideal choices for wild dogs by most hunters who target them". (Source: https://www.ssaa.org.au/resources/hunting/what-you-can-hunt/)
So in other words they could easily be a Class 2 or 3 animal and maybe even a Class 4 animal since both the 22-250 and 243 cover all 3 classes
We could also use a class rework
