Sundarpatan often feels very… empty. The main reason I believe this to be true is because it lacks many of the tigers main prey (minus nilgai). Given the map was formatted around tigers I don’t understand how this was overlooked. It amazes me an Indian Subcontinent map lack Axis Deer. Another thing is the way the mountains were designed… they feel more like annoying rolling hills full of trees rather than real mountains so it kinda misses out on that truly mountainous feel a Nepalese map should have.
So here’s a revamped species list, one I would’ve preferred
Bengal Tiger (Low pop)
Wild Water Buffalo (Low pop)
Wild Yak (Low pop)
Indian Leopard (Low pop
Nilgai - C7
Barasingha (Low pop)
Sambar
Tahr
Snow Leopard (Low pop)
Blue Sheep
Wild Boar (While it should technically be Indian Boar, I’m not entirely certain EW would make such a distinction)
Axis Deer
Blackbuck (Low pop)
Northern Red Muntjac
Himalayan Marmot
Fowl
The lack of birds was also kinda surprising because Nepal is mainly known for its bird hunting nowadays in contrast to its historical hunting roots.
Himalayan Monal
Blood Pheasant
Kalij Pheasant
King Quail
Nonetheless it is a fantastic map of which is among my favorites! Much love to the team that worked on it.
