In COTW we have many animals that tend to wallow, and if you don’t know what a wallow is, I’ll explain it to you! A wallow is a shallow depression in the ground that tends to be filled with loads of mud and water. But what is the purpose of a wallow you might be wondering? Well animals use wallows for many reasons, regulating body temperature, cooling methods, thermoregulation and parasite control. The animals that are known to wallow are pigs, deer, and other large animals like Rhinos and Elephants.

Now where would you found these wallows? Wallows would be located in more thicker areas around forests or in forests, they can also be found at creeks and small rivers. There would be a surrounding of vegetation and in the middle is a flattened out mud pool.. you could say? When you find a wallow you will see zone indicators with imprints scattered all around the area like you would with drink zones.

Thank you for taking your valuable time to read my suggestion. Please consider this EW z_COTW

I'd absolutely love these wallows, especially for Cape Buff. Big dagga boys spend alot of time in the hotter months just sitting in and around the wallows too cool off and avoid the incessant swarm of flies that try enter every moist orifice of the body. Pesky buggers

Hey @steady compass ! Thanks for the concept! It brings a fresh angle we haven’t explored much yet. We love the creativity you're bringing to the table. I'll be sharing this with the development team. With more ideas, you can also let us know through: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

When I’m out in the bush looking for some Rusa stag antler casts I commonly come across this creek. The deer like to wallow here, as you can see tracks are everywhere and even my trail cam has caught a few males wallowing.

I think this would be great for adding more character to the animals
