USA president Theodore Roosevelt gave new Zealand a heard of white telled deer as a gift in 1906 since then they have been a invasive species in new Zealand it be cool to add them to the game with a new side mission talking about thare history and add elk thay live in new Zealand java rusa deer and samber deer and tahr it will make new Zealand aka te awaroa feel more realistic and make it more fun is that a good reason too and hog deer to new Zealand pls
#Te awaroa update for more deer species such as wapiti elk samber rusa white telled deer and hog deer

White-tailed Deer live in a pretty limited area on New Zealand, plus the game needs a lengthy break from White-tail Maps until Africa 2.0 releases at the very least
I agree with bringing in Rusa, Sambar, and Rocky Mountain Elk if they have small populations, but Whitetail are very rare in New Zealand, with only a few wild herds being found in the very south of the country.
And as MooseDragon247 said above me, we have enough Whitetail maps as it is.
White telled deer Thay live on a lake in new Zealand teawora has a lake based on it
Yah that's true and it will make a white telled deer grind too easy
I would rather see Sambar backfilled to Sundarpatan myself, but thats me
Plus, the addition of tahr will already cut into the total population of all other species, and if Rusa, Sambar, and RM Elk were added on top of that, there would be even less of species such as Red Deer and Fallow. Whitetail would only make that problem worse
I’d like them on Sundar as well, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them on Te as well. They should be on practically any other south Asian map we could get like Indonesia or Malaysia.
Bump
I'm not hating but I'm not a fan of sundarpatan because of all the trees and mountains
Bump
As long as they remove a vast majority of those friggin’ turkeys!

the ducks 🙏 (they are anoying asf )
And the 50.000 goats
Goats are something that should be everywhere since they’re a widely hunted species there. Turkeys and Mallards aren’t and their population shouldn’t be as high as they are. They should be there, but there shouldn’t be hundreds in the same place.
If anything, the goats should just be redistributed.
They need to be more concentrated in the higher elevations, alongside Chamois and the future Tahr. They would also likely be found in the mid elevations around places like Stonecastle Valley, but not down on the plains of the east.
I do think there should still be more goats than Chamois or Tahr, as there are about 30k - 40k Chamois and 30k Tahr on the South Island, and there’s at least 250k Feral Goats on the South Island.
speaking of which, merriam turkey remodel when🙏

pls add lions to te

We just need a deer only map maybe north island new Zealand maybe ceaboea
Maybe Texas or a hunting ranch map
Honestly, why not make a second NZ map? The country offers a lof of different landscapes and animals and we could get another map with some of the unique species on TE
Might've already been said but I'm too lazy to read
@viscid wren no one said that yet
Amazing then
I'd love to see some more educated people do ideas for a second NZ reserve
Te is already a really good map with the amount of species especially with Tahr being added now and being the best map for hunting fallow and reds (at least in my opinion) but there's so much more we could add so another reserve wouldn't hurt at all
@viscid wren do the same thing thay did with the new map but deer and goat and tahr only and the deer in the post
Could also be fun but personally I'd prefer a big map because well, there's so many good species to add
Yes make it big if a dev is reading this
Hopefully 🙏
And thay can add sitka black telled deer as well I might be thanking about Hawaii instead nah is new Zealand that has that @viscid wren
I'm not very educated when it comes to animals in NZ 😭
I just know there's elk, wt, sambar and rusa to add
Could be another map for Sika and chamois too
Sika and chamois can be added to the map we talking about
"In New Zealand, deer have no natural predators. This means they can grow to large numbers without the support of hunters and others to aid in their management. " (just looked this up) so this could be a good story for said reserve
Chamois are more of a south island thing to my understanding.
Ah I see, and the deer up north?
Chamois could be added to a eastern European map as well
I was thinking about Hawaii instead for black tell
Hawaii will not be a bad map either
Hawaii would be a much better choice for a map than New Zealand 2.0 imo.
But it only has 2 deer species that be not very good for big game hunts or deer and goat and deer only map but we can talk about Hawaii
hawaii sounds cool
What would Hawaii have other than sitka and axis then?
I know nothing about it
Me either all I know is big fire 3 years ago and volcano 🌋
Cause NZ 2.0 could bring a new reserve for Rusa, Sambar, Sika and Elk which all need it
I like New Zealand 2.0 more than Hawaii
Here’s a few
Hawaiian Black Ram, Feral Goat, Vancouver Bull, Blackbuck,
Elk are also more of a South Island thing to my understanding
Alright thank you 👍
@viscid wren it can me both north and south island we can have a boat like the one map
But south island on these map will still be more north
They tried to do that with Te and it just made the whole map fall flat.
It’s not a good idea to try and mix two very different islands into one map.
Or north south island because we have south south island north south island map because we don't have the north part of south island on te
,I just edited it to make it make sense sorry about that
Or we can get a buff to te and add them animals and we can get north island map@fast saddle @viscid wren
If we do that we can balance the little bit of animals we lose because of it
English please
Jesus the north side of south island
You should really type that properly yknow
South Island = Bigger part of New Zealand
North Island = Smaller part of New Zealand
The north part of south island is what I mean is just hard to explain
Bump
@viscid wren I forgot to add new Zealand also has axis deer and hog deer so I just put it in the thing
New Zealand doesn’t have hog deer or axis deer. Hog deer have never been introduced to NZ to my knowledge, chital were though in the early 20th century. They did quite well but were entirely culled out in the 1920s due to overpopulating too quickly and overgrazing farmland.
Te Awaroa is already a combined North and South Island map with the inclusion of sika which are strictly a North Island species. The addition of other deer species on the current map wouldn’t be too far fetched considering.
I should say, the New Zealand deer species that aren’t included on Te Awaroa currently are all species with limited ranges within NZ.
The true wild populations of wapiti are entirely restricted to Fiordland. Closer-to-purebred, domesticated wapiti can be found on private high fence estates on both the North and South Islands. I do believe they would be worth including as Te Awaroa is based on the Southern Alps which does include Fiordland irl and they are considered the premier species to hunt by most kiwi hunters.
Sambar are limited to two largely fragmented herds in the Manawatū-Whanganui and Bay of Plenty regions of the North Island though their populations do seem to be spreading steadily over the years from my own observations. In these areas they do have somewhat significant populations but they are still massively outnumbered by fallow and red deer. They would be somewhat out of place on Te Awaroa, but only as much as sika currently are.
Virginia Whitetail deer are limited to Rakiura / Stewart’s Island where they are the dominant deer species, and around Lake Hāwea. They have a fairly low population in NZ and aren’t at all common. Also the populations here wouldn’t be considered trophies by US standards. Full grown whitetail does in NZ can easily be mistaken for fawns found in the US due to their very small size and bucks don’t tend to grow very impressive antlers. I believe this is due to a lack of some kind of key nutrients they require for growth in their native North America that isn’t found in the soil in New Zealand (I can’t quite remember so don’t quote me on that one). Whitetail wouldn’t be too far fetched on Te Awaroa as Lake Hāwea is found within the Southern Alps irl. The problem however is the whitetail in CotW wouldn’t be representative of the whitetail found here. A silver rated whitetail would be considered a serious trophy here, and gold rated whitetails would be next to impossible in NZ conditions, let alone a whitetail great one.
Finally, Javan rusa are the rarest and by far least distributed deer species in New Zealand. They are almost entirely restricted to the Galatea Valley in the Eastern Bay of Plenty though I have personally seen them as far East as Ruatahuna in Te Urewera. Hunters wishing to target rusa specifically are usually limited to only the Galatea faces as the rest of their range is massively dominated by large red deer populations. They would be out of place on Te Awaroa as their populations are already so tiny in their limited range in NZ.
@jolly terrace Google it hog and axis are in new Zealand and you can find wt anywhere in south island new Zealand I talked to a south nz person my self and he hunts wt on public land
I live in NZ, we don’t have either hog or axis deer.
Y'all may be from a different part maybe new Zealand is pretty but the person not saying a name with out permission talld me about all that and I thought it was interesting and it would help people learn about nz a little better
Np you don’t need to out him 😂 NZ is a small country though and I’ve hunted quite a lot of it as I am a full time deer culler, this stuff is literally my job. Not calling him out but he may be rather dubious as a source.
Hog deer are in new Zealand still but he told me axis deer went extent in 1920 thar my bad I messed understand sorry but hog deer are still found thar
Additionally Sika are also entirely restricted to the North Island but they have a large population and distribution in the Kaimanawa and Kaweka ranges and beyond. As they are present on Te Awaroa I think that would justify the addition of other significant species not found in the Southern Alps irl such as sambar.
So is not unlikey that stuff can still be added but a side mission about the last axis on new Zealand be cool make it a free trophy pretty much
I’d be curious to know where if your friend doesn’t mind sharing. Even just a large general area. It is very commonly known there are only seven deer species currently living in NZ. It may be on a private game reserve though I still doubt it as NZ has incredibly strict animal importation laws and it’s next to impossible to import deer species that aren’t already found here.
I googled everything to fact check and he was right about everything but axis
It could definitely be similar to the moose mission currently on Te Awaroa.
Yah make new Zealand more seen i don't know why they don't say anything about hog deer I guess that's 8 deer species maybe they have too low population to count but it be cool to add them and make them super rear like snow laperd on sund
I wanna go hunting in NZ irl but I hate air planes and hunting guides and public land I like private land but that's not easy to come by tare are fourwheelers street legal thar
If Axis Deer and Hog Deer are to be added to any map it should be Sundarpatan given that both deer species occur in Nepal
I would also rather see Sambar added to Sundarpatan instead of Te Awaroa and Rusa remain an Emerald Coast Exclusive
I agree planes suck 😂 I love our public lands here in NZ though, especially as we have so much of it. If you ever do get to hunt in NZ it would most likely be with a guide (sadly) on private land, usually game reserves as there is a huge market that caters almost entirely to US hunters here.
The very large majority of locals stick to solo hunts on public land or private farmland however. You never know, your friend here may be able to get you onto a large farm or station if you’re lucky enough.
Not sure what you mean by four wheelers but ATVs, LUVs and just about any other 4WD vehicle are readily accessible here.
NZ is quite well known for its game ranches
@fast saddle same with Texas but I don't like to hunt them ranches because they not really wild
30,000 acres is pretty darn wild
In Texas thay do all the work for you @fast saddle Thay put you out there and tell you what time is coming out and what one to shoot
@jolly terrace I stick to public land I not like the other USA hunters I like to work for a trophy I not even a trophy hunter I just want to know if they taste good but I would take a trophy
Fourwheeler is just a amacan way of saying ATV I don't know what a LTV is but I know what a sxs or UTV is I'm from Texas add me as friend on discord I'm only 17 rn but maybe when I lil older I hunt new Zealand one day I don't like game ranges I like deer that run free in the wild it probably be public land I feel like a guide just stops you from hunting your way is it legal to feed them to get them out
in Texas if you not careful here in public land you likely to get shot on accident
I like to hunt private land whare I live
Not Rusa but maybe sambar with a limited population and yes definitely elk https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1353222446358069338
