Piane del Sole is a reserve situated in the area of Northern Italy (Po Valley to the Alps) featuring three major ecological zones to explore, each with a set of faunas to hunt.
While large game might not be particularly varied the area makes up for it with the abundance of small game.

Starting Southwest the player's first impression of the land will be in the heart of the Plains; here large areas of farmland are interspaced by small forested zones and manmade canals; in this area a player will be able to spot and hunt the following:

  • Wild Boar (class 5)
  • Roe Deer (class 3)
  • Red Fox (class 2)
  • European Rabbit (class 1)
  • Ring Necked Pheasant (class 1)
  • Eurasian Collared Dove (class 1) NEW
  • Common Starling (class 1) NEW
  • Eurasian Magpie (class 1) NEW
  • Carrion Crow (class 1) NEW

The canals dotting the area and bringing water to the fields are sometimes home to animals such as:

  • Nutria (class 2) NEW
  • Common Moorhen (class 1) NEW
  • Ruff (class 1) NEW
  • Cormorant (class 1) NEW recently made legal to hunt in certain regions of northern Italy

To the North of the map we enter the mountainous regions of the country towards the alps, the farmlands giving way to a more forested hillside before meeting the higher elevations of the mountains; the hilly deciduous forests are home to a variety of animals of their own, including:

  • Red Deer (class 6)
  • Wild Boar (class 5)
  • Fallow Deer (class 4)
  • Roe Deer (class 3)
  • Red Fox (class 2)
  • European Rabbit (class 1)
  • Gray Partridge (class 1) NEW
  • Common Starling (class 1) NEW
  • Eurasian Jay (class 1) NEW
  • Eurasian Magpie (class 1) NEW

Proceeding further north one enters the Mountains proper, here an abundance of ovids can be found, including our own crown jewel, the Alpine Ibex:

  • European mouflon (class 5)
  • Alpine Ibex (class 4) NEW
  • Chamois (class 3)
  • Black Grouse (class 1)
  • Black Ptarmigan (class 1)
  • Rock partridge (class 1) NEW

In the east following the canals and rivers you'll soon encounter the last major Ecological zone; the Marshes:

  • Red Deer (class 6)
  • Mallard (class 1)
  • Eurasian Teal (class 1)
  • Eurasian Wigeon (class 1)
  • Tufted Duck (class 1)
  • Garganey (class 1) NEW
  • Northern Pintail (class 1) NEW
  • Eurasian Woodcock (class 1) NEW
  • Ruff (class 1) NEW
  • Water Rail (class 1) NEW
  • Nutria (class 2) NEW

Together these areas make up the heart of the Northern Italy, giving hunters an opportunity to sample to local hunting opportunities and some new game yet to be introduced in the game

I definitely think this would be a good map. I want to see Alpine Ibex in game, Ruff would make for a really cool bird species, and cormorants (particularly the Great Cormorant) would be cool to see in game.

Ye I really wanna see a Cormorant too and them becoming legal to hunt in northern Italy is great news for this XD

I didn't know that! That actually is such a good tidbit of info to know cause it raises the potential for cross map addition of cormorants after release :3

Love this reserve idea. maybe a bit too many animals but I dig especially the new ones. Jay, Magpie and Crow could be one model just with slight height variations. I miss crow hunting in this game. Also I like that you included some invasive species like the nutria.

I hope this reserve finds its way into the game some day 😄

thanks!
I also agree the number of species would probably be too much, I wouldn't expect the map to release like this but rather use this as a platform to put some ideas out there and a possible selection to pick from

It’s a shame we didn’t get the eurasian woodcock to hunt yet… she’s the queen of the woods. Devs if you ever implement this, hunt difficulty should be at least level 7 to 9 - legendary
