#Things to do in COTW if you're bored!

This isn't a suggestion

  1. Immersive hunting: hunt without tracks and HUD, hearing where the warning calls come from with your ears, not being able to spot animals etc.
This will make the game harder but that's the fun of it! I recommend doing this on hirschfelden, This can be fun with friends.
(The settings i use are in the image of this suggestion)

  2. ATV race: Race with your friends from 1 outpost to another, this is a fun way to unlock outposts and just fun overall.

  3. Play vurhonga savanna: this is such a unique map and will feel really fresh after hunting on some other maps.

  4. Try to climb a mountain: There's lots of mountains in COTW you can climb, reaching the top feels really rewarding but this can be a bit frustrating if you fall off the mountain. A mountain i can think of right now is the orange one on silver ridge peaks.

  5. Try to bow hunt: This requires some learning but can be very fun if you get good at it.

6: Track a tiger at night without a dog: This is really scary especially without a dog, fun with friends.

7: Make loadouts: It's always fun making loadouts for me, i reccomend making some loadouts for: bow hunting, rancho cuatro and te since they dont have big game, salz and maybe some more!

If you have any more ideas please put them in here!

Also for 1 i like to use callers and the free standard binoculars

My favorite way to play the game is very similar to the realistic suggestion. Turns out, the game is actually pleasantly challenging with 1 rifle (1-4X scope or no scope), base game binos and a first aid kit as your entire loadout. Just wish firearms in game had more realistic ammo to cover more class ranges

Once you get Medved, a super fun challenge is to Run the Wolf Gauntlet. Set time to wolf drink time (dusk), pistol only, and run the river. They'll be waiting. So much fun with a friend.

Harvest 5 animals from the same herd with a single shot to the heart using a bow in Medved-Taiga National Park

Restarting could be fun, and only using a few dlc but when you get to like level 30 you can use all dlcs like ladylegend does

Target practicing is also fun with friends

after hunting an animal you can use an atv to push it to a nice spot to take some cool pictures

Try to shoot a pheasant (or other bird) with a bow without sight while it flies,

only hunt from ingame blinds, its very fun especially with the electronic caller (i prefer to do it on hirschfelden, i can give my favorite spots if you want )

grab a big gun (most fun with 300. AR) and blast smaller animals. works best for animals not bigger then sika deer.

Down a reindeer near glitched ice in MEDVED and watch random players try to steal it. 🙂

I don’t really get board in this game. 🤷‍♂️

I do rotate missions on different maps though.

The new challenge system helps a lot.

grab the 22. pistol find a big target (bison or buffalo for example) and just blast the hole load into it.
Tip: take all the three variants with you so yo can unload 30 shots in seconds

Hit the new game button (I did it half a month ago).
Re-play the missions, level up and enjoy a fresh population

heady cave

i will most likely do that after getting all achievements
it could be fun to only use dlc stuff after reaching a specific level

Shoot as many ducks as you can, without harvesting them. See how big the pile pf dead ducks can be. Will the game crash at a certain point? Will some dead ducks despawn?

One thing I have had fun on multiplayer is chasing animals towards other player on atvs and vice versa

One of my favorite things to do is to go on NEM, set a waypoint far across the map, and hike with the dog to look for bears tracks. Find a good set of male tracks and follow them. Sometimes you can get them in their beds, but the real fun is when you spook them and the chase is on! I use the .44 Moradi and Odin scope and the bears will often run up into the mountains. Chase them into rough terrain and they'll usually get hung up trying to go up a steep slope and you can shoot them then. Closest thing we have to chasing them with hounds.

Find enough prey to reduce your ammo reserves to reasonable amounts of ammo (no one would carry a thousand rounds around). 😅

I chased this 8-Mythical Black Bear on New England Mountains for several in-game hours and miles last night. Picked up the tracks in the thick stuff, bumped him between bedding areas, and chased him back and forth, in circles, across rivers and back, got a couple shots off a few times, then finally wore him down in steep terrain and shot him. Man, that was so much fun!

#

I had turkeys cussing at me the whole time and a cow moose chasing me for a small portion of it. Didn't realize I could simply ignore aggressive moose and keep running and they'd eventually stop. That was good info to discover.

#

If we got bear/cat/coon/hog hounds, I'm not sure I'd do anything else. Chasing those bears, especially on a map like NEM with that rugged terrain, is way too much fun. I don't think chasing black bears on any other map that way can compare. Mississippi is flat, just thick. Layton Lakes can be thick in places, but you don't have a lot of real difficult terrain for them to hang up in except in certain areas that don't hold a lot of animals to begin with. SRP is mostly just steep and only thick in the aspens, though I imagine the hunt would end much quicker with a good long shot as they're running across open ground.

I've got buddies who play, but they don't have Live/Game Pass/Whatever it is, and we all lead busy lives with work and family, so hunting together is difficult let alone gaming together, but I'd love to get them on one of my maps and do some drives. It's so much better with friends than strangers online.

This is fun - turn off the HUD and all animal cues and hunt with primitive weapons
