While fireflies are small, they'd add so much atmosphere to the maps at night! Instead of the night being pitch dark, fireflies would make the night actually nice to look at alongside just looking pretty!

They don't even have to be fully modeled, just a few pixels that give light should be more than enough to give perfect atmosphere

May I also add that if this were added animals like fireflies or butterflies or any other animal that can't be added to the hunting roster to be used as ambience to make the world feel more alive

What they could do is just make fireflies yellow pixels that emit light on specific parts of the map at night

Idk if I'm allowed to show other games but some other games with fireflies as ambience they could just do something like this

Even if fireflies were to not be active at night at all times, they could be activated by movement so it causes less lag

^ or turned off in options maybe? Or have an option to limit the numbers of them idk if that's possible for the game

Good idea!! The angler has this, and it worked out really good, they look really real, with that trail of light behind them. Would add so much to those silent creepy woods in the night.

I would like to see more maps with the Aurora Borealis at night as well.

The maps they wouldn’t make sense on would be Layton, Medved, Yukon, Te Awaora, Rancho, New England and Revontuli (as they are in autumn), and Emerald Coast/Sundarpatan might be a bit difficult as it would be a bit odd to see them in the arid/mountainous areas of the map. They’d be a nice addition everywhere else though!
