Looks pretty good only change would be that the elk should be Rockies not Roosevelt’s (sorry for crap quality but green is Rosie’s and blue stripes are Rockies)

feral mirage
#

Also could have swift fox be a different small carnivore option (cause so many have the red fox already) but that’s your call cause ik some people like more maps for great one options

For a bit more clarity Frontier Park is a reenactment hunting reserve "concept" set in Wyoming that was inspired from both Salzwiezen Park & Pioneer reenactment Blackpowder deer hunts. Frontier Park is themed around the late 1800's Western Frontier era along with the state's history, background, & fur trade its well known for. Within the park you will find historical trapper & fur trader camps & lodges throughout the reserve where hunters are permitted to rest &/or set up camp. These locations may have clues where you might stumble on game in the area. You will also find an old Frontier town were settlers once called home & set up shops. Atv's are permitted however for the authentic experience we recommend the use of horses. A local fur & leather tailor (Character Arc: Susan) has offered to make you a fur & pelt outfit provided your able to acquire the requested game from the thriving population. As a gift for visiting our park for the 1st time, you will receive an 1878 Coach SxS Double Hammer 12ga suitable to not only hunt our furbearer game but the state of Wyoming's famous upland birds. Quests will be as follows: hunting, photography, exploring, & finding Western & Native American artifacts. Might even see the Spirit of the West on your Journey.

In Western lore, the "Spirit of the West" represents the pioneering spirit of adventure, resilience, and self-reliance associated with the American frontier, often embodied by the archetype of the cowboy, signifying the courage to venture into unknown territory, overcome challenges, and build new communities in the vast, untamed lands of the West; it encapsulates the idea of a new beginning and the potential for personal growth through exploration and hard work.

# feral mirage Ah my mistake in MT we have a highly regulated season for them and usually WY is...

Swift Fox: "No, you cannot hunt or trap swift foxes in Wyoming. They are considered a species of the greatest conservation needs". - Google. An they are also not listed in the states brochure. Technically Canadian Lynx are federally protected in the US but are huntable in BC & Canada. So in either case both Swift Fox & Canadian Lynx are controversial species since they are both Protected & Huntable. If nothing else EW could replace the lynx for Bobcat or wolves "[C:5 - Reclass + Remodel Rework + Predator Update]" if need be. Note Wolves technically fall in C:4 but given the pack size & danger lvl C:5 is appropriate bc they are seriously out of place at C:6 where I feel Black Bear should be as the true C:6 predator. This allows Brown Bears to remain as C:7 while Grizzly's are C:8.

I know adding horses / mules to the game would be a tall order, but I would'nt want to hunt this reserve without one ....

cobalt fox
#

I think this could work for a g1 turkey, mule deer, or elk (I really want a great one turkey)

grave vigil
#

I'd love to see birdzilla but I didn't suggest it since the reserve concept is already a high order in content.

cobalt fox
#

True so much stuff would take a year to make with the story and adding stuff to it

grave vigil
#

I'm thinking 2-3 years bc of the depth between the species, reworks, horses, weapons, gear etc. Esp. Since they said they're going bk to 2 reserves a year again.

cobalt fox
#

I think this could be a map what could work with food plots

#

You could have only one on a map but it can only attract animals like whitetail deer and any other animal that can be baited in

grave vigil
#

Food plots (if they had perishable bait luring) would be better on reserves with fields over a western US reserve given the biomes & landscape. It wouldnt really work here except for predators given the prairie & sagebrush sea.

cobalt fox
#

Well it could only attract some deer species but only one feed zone in the food plot (a random feed zones could be moved to the food plot)

feral mirage
cobalt fox
#

Oh dang

grave vigil
#

Ppl are worried about the balancing for adding bait lures. Personally, if feeders were added I'd suggest EW to incorporate it into the reserves story on that reserve over full player freedom. & I already proposed to EW how to add more ways to hunt predators over only using the E-caller W/O Trapping. @feral mirage has a point here as well bc not every location allows it.

feral mirage
#

Baiting deer seems like it’s more an eastern thing in the USA for whatever reason possibly cause the population control is more needed there? But not sure about that.

grave vigil
feral mirage
grave vigil
#

Its also very common to leave gut piles to hunt coyotes as well.

feral mirage
#

Be concerned of a Grizzly showing up with that strategy where I am lol

grave vigil
#

yea Montana is its own wilderness. Honestly I wish EW better utilized the US locations to provide players more diversity in our biomes and more game exclusive to those locations over copy/paste as Jaxy mentioned with backfills. Srp only has like 9 species I believe while Revontuli has 19. & SRP was not a good design to represent western climates let alone CO & NM.

feral mirage
#

Yeah it’s a shame, I’m hoping we might get a small map for North Dakota for bird hunting. Would love to see the central flyway represented. And silver ridge needs some major tlc

grave vigil
#

I do agree if I had my pick I'd say 6-7, to 8 max US reserves would cover our biomes, all our game & methods/challenges for ea. I can tell you this hunting deer in the Midwest is way different than here in the western states as an example. The tactics & way to pursue them requires you to think differently.

feral mirage
#

Only ever lived west so not as familiar with elsewhere but the terrain is pretty varied as I’m near the beartooths so you get the Great Plains, crazy sandstone plateaus and mesas with gulleys, and of course the mountains with a quite a few peaks hitting 11,000ft +

#

Part of the reason I’m so disappointed in the bighorn cause that is the biggest trophy you can get in mt as you can only get a hunt through the raffle system and people go their whole lives without drawing a tag

grave vigil
#

Yea I'm well travelled though I had to put my hunts on hold due to responsibilities. But I plan to get bk out there once my kids get older.

#

Yea draws are a pain depending where you go. Like here in Utah you have to draw for deer. In NE you can get deer tags over the counter & in some cases if populations are high you get a bonus tag. But in UT you can get Elk tags easily, in NE its 1 Bull lifetime, & a Cow every 5yrs..

#

So it really varies from 1 state to the other..

feral mirage
#

Ah here it’s a bit complicated theres draws for certain areas but you can just buy one for other areas you can also get a combo license that has both deer and elk on it. Though you’re not gonna be getting a world record or nothing. Good for filling the freezer though

grave vigil
#

I have 3 places on my bucket list to hunt but I'm rusty its been 7-8yrs since I've been in the field.

feral mirage
#

Yeah been around 5 for me running a business an all that, gonna go back to school soon too so it’ll prolly be awhile yet for me to get back out there, just glad I’ve got a friend who likes to share their elk with me haha

grave vigil
#

I hear that. So yea TH:CotW is a fix for me till I'm able. But I really want predators fixed bc being a predator hunter theres no challenge here as they are.

feral mirage
#

Yeah that needs some work for sure, bears being spooked by lynx is just dumb

grave vigil
#

Its way deeper than that. Ppl gripped at pumas and I was happy on release till they nerfed them. Honestly all they had to do is reduce the pop cap & spawns = 👌

feral mirage
#

Oh ik also hate how slow smaller preds are. You should not be able to outrun a fox

grave vigil
#

No but the update made them alot more alert so its a start.

feral mirage
#

Yeah, but they definitely need some work, I hope they add the way snow leopards and tigers work to the other cat species. Bobcats are elusive and mountain lions should not be that oblivious

grave vigil
#

Being how old the game is if EW makes most of the changes I suggested in my predator update thread I'd have alot more joy hunting them.

#

I feel nerfing them bc of the community complaining hurts other players/hunters who do hunt them. But gods forbid we have challenges hunting Large Game & Waterfowl 😮‍💨

#

I hate too easy in games.

feral mirage
#

Yeah the duck update helped and hurt that a bit for waterfowl, goldeneye should be a bit faster imo just cause they are zippy stinkers irl part of what makes em fun to hunt. But it is leagues better than what it was. Hoping predators can get the same love.

grave vigil
#

As do I. Besides there should be less populations depending purely on location. If that location has a high density then it should be within reason. Thats why I liked PF bc it was mentioned in the story arc that the population was high "intentionally."

#

In the players defense it also was the best reserve for mule deer at the time so I kinda see where folks got upset but I'm really starting to believe ppl are not playing the narrative. They buy it & only open hunt.

feral mirage
#

Yeah a lot of people just grind drink zones it seems, I like to just go out and find tracks and if I find a max weight one I follow it and hunt anything else I see along the way

#

Far more relaxing for me that way at least till I find a diamond haha

grave vigil
#

I sim hunt. 2 weapons and I'm after a specific species unless I'm money farming. If I am I Walk & Shoot unlike my wife 😅. shes banned from my reserves bc if it breathes, walks, crawls, swims, or flies it dies.

feral mirage
#

lol, yeah I’m only like that with waterfowl but thats just cause you have to take out the entire flock to get respawns. But I usually only try to hunt for gold or better unless it’s a rare

grave vigil
#

waterfowl to me is a hunting stress remover, bc regardless how stressed an area is ducks & geese come back unlike other species.

feral mirage
#

That too

grave vigil
#

But yea my reserve whether this ver. or the original thread would provide players with not only interactive content but more upland & furbearer species. Kinda hurt SP ended up Waterfowl dedicated species wise the same day release as the pointer. As a disclaimer I like the reserve, but EW should've given more thought into that. Not to mention now EU has 2 shooting ranges while PF has the Archery Range. In EW's defense it was a reaction test to determine if they should make more reserves like it so I'll give them credit where its due..

A could add two g1s like they did in the last update. Possibly a g1 turkey and Mule deer. Turkey for a easy design and Mule deer because everyone wants one

grave vigil
grave vigil
#

But I do expect that G1's will carry here overtime. Birdzilla would be awesome to see but I can see it added at a different location to start with and get transferred. My focus with this concept over the C:1-3 ver., is directed towards US Western Upland birds & Med-Large Game esp. Elk, Deer, & Grouse.

Rancho made sense taking place in Mexico & I think they did a great job on the story arc as well as the game list. I'm hoping for Frontier Park 2.0 to get as much community traction as the 1st ver. to provide EW options to work with. The Original & 2.0 are identical but have 2 separate Game lists. The Original thread is [C:1-3] that focuses on US Western Upland Birds & Furbearers, where 2.0 has [C:1-7] Game as you have seen above. If your curious to look at the Original thread here is the link: https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1328486784044105819 I do go more in depth of explaining more about the concept of what a reenactment hunt is and why another US Location. I get folks want more world locations esp. When we have 2 US locations worth mentioning. [Mississippi. & New England]. Again SRP was an early development map b4 EW kicked things up to new heights & the only reserve I really feel should get fully remastered from the ground up bc the design doesn't do CO & NM justice. My point here is if EW makes more US reserves, I want them to focus on releasing States that have •1. Exclusive game in that part [Sm - Med - Lrg Game, Upland Birds, Furbearers, & Waterfowl] •2. to represent our various biomes. I want EW to apply a huge number of NEW Species just as they did with Sandraparten to ALL new reserves not copy paste 3/4 of species & only add 2 new species. Tall order but I believe the players would appreciate it more which is why I feel ppl are against more US Reserves. We have more to offer then what's presented & I respect other regions as well as they too have much to offer.

# long gulch i understand and you're right about rancho and stuff yes rancho is in mexico not...

🤣 no your fine you have alot of passion for Western culture as well as US Game & I won't criticize you for it bc it is justified for good reason. But EW should be more tactful moving fwd on key locations while also expanding huntible species. The game has a plot & story to it & I dont want EW to stray from that either & I'd like Npc character arc's to also have more impact on the players like Mat on PF as well as the Locke's from Layton & New England. Not a tour like Revontuli & Salzweisen Park though I'll give EW credit where its due for including Parks from a different concept though I wish you were more engaged like previous story arcs over a tour.

long gulch
# grave vigil 🤣 no your fine you have alot of passion for Western culture as well as US Game ...

I agree—EW should maintain strong storytelling like in Parque Fernando, Layton Lake, and New England Mountains, rather than just offering "tours" like Revontuli and Saltzwiesen. Expanding huntable species is great, but immersive character arcs and deeper narratives make reserves feel truly alive. Future maps should balance innovation with the emotional depth that made earlier reserves memorable.

grave vigil

Depending on how the vote goes #1342242999526232196 message in this thread I'll add more insight to the story but I wont spoil everything & I hope EW picks up where I'm goin with it based on the hints and concept 😉 But the vote is important, so I hope everyone places their ballet. Story Teaser - Disclaimer the info with wolves & elk in Wyoming is true but Frontier Park is Fiction for TH: CotW and doesn't officially exist, it's a concept reserve with New features such as Narrative, US Western History & Game, Steel Range, Weapons, Gear, & Horse DLC's.

Gray wolves were hunted to extinction in Wyoming in 1926. The wolves were eliminated as a result of federal and state efforts to control predators. Soon after Rocky Mountain Elk populations began to grow at a rapid & alarming rate over the following years. Quite literally changing & dissolving habitats in mass herds. This in turn was also affecting local wildlife habitats while also bringing a decline to other populations. Despite all efforts to reduce the elk populations it wasn't until a decision was made to reintroduce wolves. January of 1995 Wolves were reintroduced reducing Elk populations from 17,000 to between 7000-8000 head. This not only stabilized Elk herds but also restored the habitat back to its natural ecology. This also restored additional species populations and further reduced the incline of coyote populations hense bringing back fox populations. Beavers & other aquatic life returned and restored the states natural water ways as well.

After many years have passed populations have been flourishing. With that a new Park was introduced, Frontier Park. Frontier Park reintroduces hunters & tourists alike to a new historical experience of the State of Wyoming as well as Western US Frontier history. You are invited to our annual reenactment reserve to experience the west as the Pioneers, Cowboys, & Fur Traders did back in the late 1800's. Throughout the park you will find old western settlements from both Native Tribes & Frontier Settlers. Not to mention Fur Trader lodges & Camps that our guests are welcome to rest in or your welcome to set up camp in the plains as cattle herders & cowboys did on their travels. Keep a look out as you might find wagons abandoned as well. "chuckles"

#

As for you we have a gift for you as our way of showing thanks & Susan our local leather & fur tailor would like to share something as well. Oh forgive me I failed to introduce myself, my age is starting to show how embarrassing 😅!? I'm Randy Ross the Warden in these parts. As to why we sent you the invitation we not only wanted to further share our history & wildlife with you but you were highly recommended with field expertise from Allan Bradley [SRP], Imani "Immi" Davis [MA], Colton "Doc" [Layton] & Trevor [NEM] Locke. Even from Jim Murray [Yukon]. My daughter Karla is our Park Ranger & has been reporting wildlife growth at an all-time high which is both a good & bad thing. As you may know Wolves have played a huge roll in our Ecology & Habitat stability esp. with our Elk populations, however lately we have seen an increase in elk & our wolf count is low. Please pair up with my daughter & she will fill you in. Again, thank you for answering our invitation & welcome to Frontier Park.

This map could go good with the new wolf furs that everyone voted on

grave vigil
#

I agree it would pair well with the new additions. I'm not expecting a G1 wolf but it could be possible while adding furs. Same could be said for mule deer as well with the new racks. If so this reserve would have 5 G1's in it. Though if Elk get added as well it would be 6 G1's for those who are seeking them out. For me the immersion, narrative, reserve setting, content, & hunting opportunity is paramount esp. if EW applies horses & the packs I recommended. Including a new interactive shooting range as well. Overall, I honestly believe players would love playing this reserve even though it's another US location. I can see the memes already for prairie dogs & badgers 🤣 I bet the content creators on youtube would have a field day playing this.

So, this is technically the Cowboy Repeater from Fallout New Vegas. This is the Long Carabine version (unique) running .357 magnum and .38 special in that game as well. It would be a very cool reward for a hidden challenge

You know the parque circle challenges? That sort of thing, not necessarily hidden but you don't know about it until you finish the challenge

# toxic spruce So, this is technically the Cowboy Repeater from Fallout New Vegas. This is the ...

I love F:NV still a fav. But yea I recall the .357 lever well, hunted geckos with it often 🤣 I also remember Rancho digging up the shotgun. I wouldn't mind a similar case in Frontier Park but with a double weapon deal. Get the SxS with the release & recieve the 357 lever through the narrative story or side story. I was going to suggest it in another part of the progression as a 2nd teaser, but you beat me to it 😅 Originally I was going to add it as an artifact you find for Carl as a museum piece.

See that's awesome, I'd love to have that kind of thing in more games and stuff. I mentioned before that in Cabela's Alaskan Adventures there was a .45-70 Sharps you could find with a lost hunter that had frozen. It was a callback to Jeremiah Johnson (the movie if someone doesn't know, if you don't know you're a heathen)

But yeah, I want to see more found Weapons, I made a post about this

grave vigil
#

Theres a reason I really want this to get added. I put days of thought into both Ver. for this though I think 2.0 has more potential than the original esp. With interactive narrative, features, history, a new perspective on how to hunt, & ofc the Game in it.

toxic spruce
#

I sincerely wish we had more found weapons in general, just as a variant

grave vigil
#

I agree would be more interesting to find them in-game then through a weapon pk.....💡 there's a thought.🧐

#

Instead of buying a weapon pk separate, tie it into the reserves instead, that's brilliant.

#

3 to 4 new weapons that are found through the story progression in a reserve thats worth it.

toxic spruce
grave vigil

Rancho had the shotgun & I thought you got a weapon from Yukon as well if I remember rightly. Getting the arloom, Gandhare was well not what I expected & way to dry & fwd to acquire. Though I'll admit getting the Rayo was torture.

toxic spruce

They kinda go between too easy and too difficult.

I wish you'd get hints like "Hey, I lost a rifle out there when I was lost in a snow storm, I can remember taking shelter in a cave though. If you can find it you can keep the rifle, I just want my old watch from the pack I left behind. It belonged to my father.

Agreed like how you find documents or clues on missions. Alot of the gameplay I was aiming for was a combination of Medved & Yukon. both had really good narratives & side stories as well as ecology, history, the native tribes/clans, & mood set. Medved would've been perfect to acquire a dead mans gear. Though idk how many ppl know about the story let alone the knowledge & time spent designing them.

yea, I get that. Medved the guy died eating contaminated meat & got anthrax poisoning. It was sad but I enjoyed the narrative due to its authenticity. I was surprised EW even allowed players to hunt here, but with you as the main character you're basically a hired ecologist with hunting & field experience for wildlife management. Throughout the reserves each one you are asked to investigate & assist wardens & other fields with authentic scenarios 80% of the time. The other 20% it felt more like you were on vacation visiting for a hunt

I like that Fox got G1's but the fur types I'm on the fence with. Pheasants' yea I would've preferred feather variations like length & size over element colors. But Elk, Mule Deer, Coyotes, & Wolves are my top 4 I want to see remodeled, scaled, ai behavior reworked, with natural G1's over fantasy. Wolves I would expect Alpha size scaled, patterns, & different fur tones. Color between white, black, gray, brown, tan, & maybe red (ginger) in color. The only reason I even approve G1's is because its nearly a guarantee they will get reworked overall.

grave vigil
#

@toxic spruce Here at Frontier Park it's a combination. You (players) are introduced to a park that revolves around reenactment hunting (IRL era themed hunts) & your investigating Elk & Wolves while also taking part in tasks similarly to Medved & Yukon with collecting samples, photography, artifacts, native tribes, as well as cultural western history firsthand. You (players) get to experience things as the pioneers & cowboys once did in the frontier. That is the goal. Ofc also to provide players the opportunity to truly hunt US Western Game. SRP had a nice list, but CO & NM isn't what I consider a Western Experience with what we received. To be fair the time of release was during hard times but I feel EW can make it up with Frontier Park. Especially after Sundarpatan in Nepal. Not to mention you are also going to have a new character arc (Susan -Fur/Pelt Tailor) that like Mat (MatMat = Multi-mounts) will provide players not only a new outfit but rug & pelt mounts.

grave vigil
#

Again I have no doubt players & content creators will love this reserve. But EW will have to provide us with horses to truly experience this reserve to its full potential & experience.

#

I hope an ammo expansion is released prior to the release as well so folks can really enjoy the prairie dogs as well with various calibers.

#

I also know the Sandhill Cranes will also be a huge hit for players as well.

grave vigil
#

I also balanced predators with natural prey as well for the predator update. This also means lower predator populations with hunting behavior so there's more prey than predators. As a new way to hunt predators you can look for signs of their preferred prey. This would also imply predators have their territory within the maps units/habitat since every reserve has zoned units to locate game in the quests/missions. This in turn changes prey reactions as well to either be cautious or attempt to call/ward away predators. No more fleeing instantly unless the prey is in chase. I'd like to see predators actually catch prey but idk if EW will go that far but the existing pathing & animations need reworked bc too often predators are in chase chasing nothing 😣

GO'S just encourage playing in a way that most people literally can't. I can't put hours on hours into running circles around a lake shooting fallow deer and honestly it sounds like a boring way to play.

I want a GO that can just kinda happen. Something that just happens every now and then. It would make exploring the maps worthwhile instead of circling the same pond for weeks on end

The wolves are going to be in the same areas as the Elk given their main food source & I explained a bit in the story teaser above here: #1342242999526232196 message. I'm also thinking the reserve should have periods of snowfall as well. When it does Prairie dogs go into hiding till the snow clears. Same with the Sandhill cranes that would fly off before it snows and return once its clear again. The interval I think should be 2 in-game days clear 2 in-game days snow. What do you guys think?

Unless the snowfall = negative temps or feet of snow, the prairie dogs would still be popping up above ground maybe for shorter periods of time but they don’t truly hibernate (we had a little town on the way to my school). But it’s a cool idea although I’m not sure how feasible it is for the devs to implement a species disappearing for a few days not to mention how obnoxious that could be if it bugged and effected unintended species/reset your population every time/or wouldn’t bring them back after the correct time has passed (which would not surprise me if that happened sadly)

True my thoughts with it was similar to rabbits with their burrows. When rabbits get spooked, they run and despawn in their burrows & eventually reappear. I had a similar thought they would retreat to their burrows when it snows and reappear when it's clear. I love the snowing feature on alot of the reserves that do but the intervals are way too short. If it snows I'd like it to hang around for 2 in-game days then melt & have 2 in-game days with it clear. Yukon disappointed me bc I expected the snow to stick around longer than 5min. Same with Sundarpatan in the Mountains. Medved's different having an all-snow map & I did have the same thought for here, but it would take away from the scenery if it was an all-snow reserve.

summer to me would be represented more so in the southern part in the desert if anything. But I do agree Spring, Fall, & Winter would be easier to apply given the existing weather we have already. If EW takes it a step further with the seasons it would create wetlands in certain locations for Sandhill's to flock to. - fixed locations not rng locations; that would be ambitious if it was rng 😅

I agree it would be a great addition for players. All I'm aiming for is for EW to go far with this reserve idea and be in par with NEM, EC, & Nepal. I want players to have the experience they deserve with shock & awe. I really want to bring back new features, narrative, & do justice not only to a US location but to provide players as close to an authentic Western experience as well. Again I have no doubt in my mind both players & content creators will go wild playing this.

In more perspective. Various game both New & Returning with reworks, behaviors, G1's. Simulated weather with up to 3 &/or all 4 seasons applied, strong narrative & character arcs, strong impactful scenery with interaction, steel shooting range, lodge additions added, weapons & gear verity from the late 1800's, horses. Something new and impactful.

# steel terrace Why no bighorn?

Bighorn imho should have a spotlight in better suited locations. And I limited it to a 20-game cap since Revontuli has 19 & I added 11 New Species. The focus here Game wise is directed to Elk, Wolves, Furbearers, & Upland Birds while the rest fill the ecology of species & potential G1's that reside here & for those who go after them.

grave vigil
#

This reserve is top tier given the features I addressed if EW could pull it off & I'm confident they can & are capable. The Game list is solid esp. If EW applies the features I mentioned from reworks, behavior, & better population counts & placement, etc. The potential utilizing the existing &/or added weather to simulate 3 &/or all 4 seasons within a 2 &/or up to 6 in-game day intervals. The character arcs, scenery, narrative, & theme is well thought out to use as a base for EW. Susan like Mat provides the lodge addition with new fur/pelt rugs & wall taxidermies and a new player outfit. Steel shooting range, horses, themed weapon pack & gear pack to fit the theme that also touches on players wild western/cowboy/girl culture. This concept has features that makes a big impact on player gameplay with unique reserve elements. Not to mention 6 potential G1's for those who seek them out &/or for those lucky enough to stumble up on them.

Ik this is a class 1-7 reserve, but a Wyoming map feels incomplete without Bison. A full rework for them + new variants would be awesome!

grave vigil
#

SRP wasn't a well-designed reserve however already has a high population of bison in it. Not to mention Yukon and Hirsch have bison as well. Besides Roosevelt Elk havn't been touched in 8yrs, Gray Wolves in 7yrs, & Rocky Mountain Elk in 6yrs. Out of the base game species Moose, Red Deer, Fallow, Black Bear, Red Fox all were reworked & recieved G1 while Elk, Mule Deer, & Hogs havn't been touched in terms of G1's. I didnt count pheasant bc they were added later but they also recieved a rework & a G1. In my case I dont really care about G1's but when EW releases them the species gets reworked & reset.

#

However as long as the reserve layout fallows my idea & features I wouldn't be apposed to EW adding Bison in small populations giving Frontier Park 21 huntable species. But TH:CotW would likely need to be optimized to New Gen to allow more species with Revontuli having 19. I figured with lower predator populations based on my Predator update thread it would allow more species to be added at 20 with the current engine Ver. Although I wouldn't be opposed to this reserve being added in the 3rd franchise title either.

grave vigil
#

With that said on the 3rd title I'd like to see DLC add-ons to be available in themed bundles as well as individual purchase options. I'd rather them release a "Reserve Themed Bundle w/ (3 equipment & gear items, 5 themed weapons (6 w/ the reserve bonus), Cosmetics: (outfits/clothing options) & Camos)" for $24.99/$25.99 - $29.99 if it includes a vehicle or companion (Dogs, Horses/Mules, or Birds of Prey "(if applied for Falconry)")

grave vigil
#

I think it would be way better with every reserve release, for the 3rd title. As @toxic spruce has suggested it would also be nice to have weapons be individually available as well. If I did my math right 1 weapon would roughly be $0.99.ea. $1.06 total w/tax give or take.

# elfin peak Might wanna add Mountain Lion and Grizzly Bear considering they’re not currently...

I'm going to adjust the thread to have Grizzly instead of black bear once I'm able. I already have 20 species 1 over the cap of 19 that is if EW applies my Predator Update with low Predator Populations w/ better pathing & better prey population caps that should allow 20 species. My focus here was to add Cranes, Upland Birds, Small Game, & Furbearers & ofc a heavier Elk population. The predators added are part of the ecology in the list & play a role in the narrative. As much as I would like to add Mtn Lions I dont have room to add them unless EW finds another way to have 21 species with the current software. Though I'll include a mention as a possibility for them to consider. Player wise I aimed to have a balanced spread without various waterfowl like ducks & geese since we already have many locations with them however. Like many I to want Cranes added which is the only waterfowl species I added here since they are popular.

grave vigil
#

I did seriously consider adding bison here, but we have Hirsch, SRP, Yukon, & now Alberta, that I dont see the need unless!.... We get a Sharps, horses, & Bison get TLC. But they would be a very small population if they did. The main narrative focus as I expressed above is wolves & elk since they impacted WY in a big way. I wouldn't be surprised if EW took my general idea here & the survey to accommodate many requests at once with Alberta. So we will see. Though Alberta & Here are similar I have a different game focus & overall experience in mind. Whether EW uses my concept or not is fine as long as its "features" are considered in future releases.

Since AR didn't release Grizzlies I'm going to add them hear along with a rework request. # grave vigil Since AR didn't release Grizzlies I'm going to add them hear along with a rework...

Yep, same goes for mountain lions it’s even weirder when both species are mentioned in the story missions yet aren’t huntable at launch… best we can help now is backfills…. But I do have a theory…. So my theory is because they were mentioned in the stories both species were going to be planned for the reserves and we’re getting massive remodels and rework, but due to time constraints and with the beavers and their mechanics they didn’t have time to work on both cougars and grizzlies so they didn’t make the cut at Launch, now there’s a chance they both could make it as backfills down the line due to how highly requested they both are but that’s what I think

grave vigil
# elfin peak Yep, same goes for mountain lions it’s even weirder when both species are mentio...

I dont see them being added to AR since it released with a full 19 game list however, I won't rule out they could make an appearance in the 2nd reserve release this year. I really need to get my PC up to speed so I can get this thread updated with photos. I'm also working on more sneak peaks on the narrative portion as well. I know you want Mt. Lions really badly but my list is already packed for this one but I can justify adding Grizzly since AR didn't have them and as much as I enjoy Black Bears their starting to appear everywhere since they have a G1. It breaks my heart to see CotW become a grinders game with the heavy G1 Focus throughout multiple locations when I'd rather see mostly new species added. But on the other hand, alot of the older models get updated when they do release a G1 that's not just a remodel, but they receive better behaviors and animations as well. Except Mule Deer 😞 I love the new base racks but I really dont like the new model over the older model & the G1's are really out there where it deters me from ever wanting one in my lodge. I prefer G1's that look natural over something from a fantasy title esp. on a title that heavily advertises as an Authentic Hunting Experience. The game switched directions from how it used to be when G1's became all the Rage & add-ons started to bypass base game progression. I had to switch the way how I play just to keep my interest & ignore the mechanics like the class locks. Which is why I want EW to seriously consider my thread idea to add new gameplay features and provide a new way to play the game.

I never intended for this concept to release soon or next considering a true Arctic location, South America, & Africa need filled in. I do have another FP Concept taking a page from SP with C:1-3 game but I focused more on this thread when it came to gameplay features, narrative, & player utilities. Besides alot of players want Horses, Elk, "The Burrow & Predator Update", not to mention a western themed concept. I took it a bit further with WY History in the US with a fresh concept of reenactment hunts (that most ppl dont know exist) that is based on the US Frontier from the late 1800's. I really wish EW wouldve released WY over SRP, however I'm also glad they didn't bc after Sundarpatan & Aisky Ridge the detail & work put in them gives me confidence they can pull off 90% of the suggested features mentioned in this thread. The weather mechanic is next level & the only mechanic I'm not 200% confident it could be pulled off in the games current limits. But, the other features I have no doubt they can.

Will edit photos soon to be reapplied to the updated game listing. Though given alot of mention how many folks want me to add Swift Fox 🧐?! I originally didn't add them since they were excluded from the Official WY Game & Parks Brochure however given EW's track record as of late I'll add them if ppl want them. FYI! Something I failed to mention for the Sharps 50-140 I intend it to be a "Blackpowder" NOT.... a Smoke-less cartridge. Given we only have 3 Blackpowders I personally would like to see more added. •To EW: Please add the flip peep rear sight not the same rear as the Gandhare, also allow it to use the scope from the Hudzik or an equivalent to it. I'm pretty happy with most of the Blackpowders however I was surprised the Gandhare didn't have an optic option & quite disappointed that the 50 Inline wasn't compatible with the Raptor Red Dot given its often regulated in many states for Red Dot or a Single Power Optic Only. I appreciate the option to use all the modern optics but as a Sim Player this would be great to include for player utility.

yea I later realized I uploaded the wrong photo it got mixed up with my winter photos with floof furs 😅. I've been trying to share both winter & none winter photos if EW was to use my reserve, they would have options for the models. As for the reenactment hunts, I felt it would be a fresh perspective to introduce a specialized hunt most folks dont know about. Where I'm from every year theirs a musket deer hunt that for the most part is primitive. I chose Wyoming specifically not only to introduce more US Species but for its history with the Western Frontier & its wildlife history. Theirs alot of Western Threads as well so my thought was to tie it all together with a specialized theme hunt thats dedicated to the late 1800's. This would provide players a cowboy/pioneer experience provided EW releases Horses, Cowboy/Pioneer Trapper Fur outfit, late 1800's weapon pack while having the pioneer experience in the Sagebrush Sea & Frontier an ofc US Western Game. I also hope EW applies the Burrow Update to really seal the deal on a new Game mechanic. As a personal touch the Steel Range would further add to the immersion. But the kicker I dont want to see EW mess up on is the narrative & theme for the story. I want good dialogue & activity to make a comeback like the early maps. Again however I'm not expecting EW to release this soon as I'm hoping EW will really put in the detail as a Grand US location while finally releasing missing US Game. My issue with other US locations thus far is the lack of Diversity in species but instead were mass released on multiple maps. That I do agree with Jaxy on is how backfills/repeats tend to take away from adding new species. Some backfills are defn. beneficial on older reserves that dont have alot of verity but on new releases I'd rather see a good number of new species added over multiple repeats if it can be helped.

But I'm partnering with @fading eagle & his https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1281956469037858816 thread to really bring this reserve to life similar to other Game features & behaviors. Not to mention I've seen alot of mentions for Cranes, Badgers, & sadly there's not enough mention for US Upland Birds. I purposely excluded Waterfowl to add more Upland Birds except Sandhill Cranes that are very popular. Story wise this would also give EW the opportunity to rework Rocky Mountain Elk since they play a large role in the narrative along with Grey Wolves that fortunately got TLC with Alberta, Aisky Ridge.

Elk, Cranes, Coyotes, Grizzly, Badgers, an various Furbearer, Varmints, & Upland Birds would get answered. Not to mention Horses, & a US Western Theme would all be answered in a single release. A new dog & a new Western themed Gear pack would also boost potential here as well.

fading eagle
grave vigil
# fading eagle I think what EW is lacking right is realy new game Mechanics. So yeah an update ...

I agree & given Sundarpatan & Aisky Ridge I'm fairly confident EW can pull this off. The only feature I'm not 200% confident on is applying the 4 seasons. I would love at least to get 3 of the 4 applied in a 3-5 in-game day intervals but given all the features already mentioned I'm not expecting them to unless they divide each biome with some type of seasonal effect. My only complaint reserve wise is how snow is applied except on Medved. AR I was disappointed that the trees dont stay covered in snow and I was also hoping we'd see both flurries & an occasional blizzard after the narrative 😢

#

But I believe its more than fair to expect 1. New Species, 2. Reworks to the requested threads, 3. New Game Animal Mechanics & Behaviors, 4. A highly requested Western (Cowboy) themed calibers & models to pursue C: 1-9 Game, 5. A new community feature with a Steel Shooting Range, 6. Horses!, 7. If they add a new dog & a useful US Western themed Gear Pack to further excel immersive Gameplay, 8. & the most important the narrative & impactful character arcs.

#

I labeled the thread as progression as to mention past reserve Wardens as to why your there aside from just visiting. Something I understand why but wasn't fond of in Revontuli & Salzwiesen Park. Aisky Ridge was....very meh given the tasks and scenario. Nothing against the voice actors but the dialogue & direction pales in comparison to Yukon & older maps. I want to see more impactful arcs like Doc & his boy from NEM & MatMat.

"The Spirit of the West" is also part of US Western Culture and I was inspired to mention it to be added after being inspired from the Jackel Spirit in Savanna's Story.

if EW follows their trend of the last 2 years and they are releasing a new dog in winter it could be the https://discordapp.com/channels/393040947006406657/1338180466439753839 (why? cause i dont know other dogs that bring a new trait. also its my idea so it should b obvious right? ) and what would they need for it to work and make sense? right they would need https://discordapp.com/channels/393040947006406657/1281956469037858816 for that. And they said we would get a new map in winter so what would fit better then a map that has plenty of burrow using animals (aka this one or https://discordapp.com/channels/393040947006406657/1126572984509931592 cause that one would also bring plenty of remodels )

yeah like what i tried to say was that EW gave us new dogs with new traits in the last 2 winters. IF they follow this trend we would get a new dog with a new trait this winter which would be a burrow hunting dog cause thats the last major trait missing. to go along with that we would need the burrow update so the dog could work. they also already confirmend a new map for winter so what would be better fitting then a map that also features multiple burrow animals like this one.

I would agree however the Swiss Alps would be more likely given the threads age. Mine is still young in that regard and given the depth I put in that also aligns with so many other threads I'd suspect if EW did release FP it would be next year or the following year. Ofc by that time I'd likely presume some of my listed species would get added along with Horses and if with good fortune, alot more.

But for a Rifle pack themed for the Swiss Alps any 10.2mm (.401in)+ calibers would be ideal like the .405win, 10.3x68mag, .416 Rigby, & ofc a traditional non sportorized 6.5x55 Swiss.

#

Ofc thats just for the Swiss Alps. But I did list a SxS 2x Hammer Coach 12ga as the reserves reward here though along with other late 1800's rifles to cover C:1-9 game for a potential weapon pack.

To keep the Western theme I'm hoping EW adds the late 1800's models & calibers. •1878 SxS 2x Hammer 12ga •1873 Winchester Trapper .357/38Spec. •1873 Springfield Trapdoor 45-70 •1874 Shiloh Sharps 50-140. Between the reserve weapon & the late 1800's pack it would pair well with the theme here given its a reenactment hunting reserve in the Western Frontier. Although I'm really hoping EW release Horses so players can truly immerse in the location. The US should get a historical reserve that played a major impact in our history. Not to mention an opportunity to finally add game the US is missing. Though I really hope EW has their AAA Game when designing this reserve & keeps 90% of my suggestions to the reserve. I dont expect them to add all 4 seasons though I'd love it if they did. But I defn. Want to see Snow in the Mountains & Marshes to form with rainfall in the Prairie for the Cranes. This further applies to the water ways with beavers. Not to mention a shout to @fading eagle Burrow Update to add a new gameplay mechanic that extends to new Furbearer & Varmint behavior like Badgers & Prairie Dogs for example.

Alot of posts related to the Frontier lately & even more so for US Upland Birds & Furbearers. I hope it gains enough support to have EW develop a Frontier reserve with due justice while including Horses, a late 1800's weapon pack, reworks, & new GAME behavior mechanics like the "Burrow Update"

grave vigil
#

It's been a while. With Scotland's release coming soon it would seem that burrows are being introduced to the game which is exciting to see. Depending on how they are mechanically portrayed this gives me hope that this location & gameplay mechanics is 1 step closer to being possible. Hopefully EW keeps up the momentum & with a bit of luck we could see Frontier Park or equivalent come to be so. 🤞

Time for an update since I missed out on the announcement w/ Grey Wolves getting G1 Variants & now that Beavers (Aisky Ridge) & Badgers (Scotland) have been added. I'll update the Roster as changes occur when Reworks & G1's are applied. American Porcupines is the 20th (Extra Option) since AR didn't have Grizzlies they're now officially added to the Roster. I know Bison was asked to be added to the list however my focus here is Similar to Scotland's Focus. Adding missing US Upland Birds & Small Game Species with Medium-Large Game, however if added it would replace whitetail deer. I tried my best to take various feedback requests and add them into a single reserve concept while adding a narrative focus with impactful Character Arcs. I attached various links above that inspired me to make this post as they also deserve recognition.

• [C:3] Coyote - (Rework + Resize + Reclass)
• [C:3] American Beaver [2nd location]

• [C:8] Grizzly Bear - (Rework + Predator Update) [2nd Location]

Extra Species
• [C:2] American Porcupine - (New)

Reminder: If "Bison" is added it would Replace Whitetail Deer & reduce the current G1 count from 4 to 3, (Unless EW adds more later). The remaining 18 species will remain unchanged in the Roster.

Also to EW; to truly bring this reserve to life I strongly request adding Horses & a Late 1800's Western Weapon Pack to seal the deal. I'm pretty confident this release if done really well will be a Gem Hit Release.

# elfin peak Thoughts on a potential G1 Cougar for Wyoming if they do make it?!

Given my concept, narrative, & layout I didnt intend on Mtn lions being added to this since its focus is the Frontier Plains with the NW corner being the only Mtn Biome. I regret to say it but SRP was the best option to represent CO & NM for mtn hunts with mtn lions. I hope they get reworked and its possible they get a G1 variant in the future. In this Roster though Rocky Mtn Elk was my choice for the new G1 & my narrative is focused around Wyomings ecology history with Elk, Wolves, & Beavers. Ofc I made sure to include species that the US is missing and has been requested in the feedback posts that further extends to GAME Reworks. I also took into account for this location to include Pioneer Western US History & be ideal for Horses to finally be added. To give our community cowboys a sense of justice I introduced the Coach SxS 2x Hammer 12ga along with a late 1800's weapon pk to fit the bill for immersion here. I did add a new steel range to be added here as well. I doubt EW would add it but as an extra a US Western Gear pk with an eye glass, new wall tents, & a new pack clothing item an ammo belt w/ holster.

grave vigil
#

When I created this concept, it was heavily inspired to answer multiple feedback requests in a single release, and I added features to further encourage EW to add & introduce horses and new gameplay mechanics with Burrows & Warrens. I'll admit if EW does release Frontier Park and utilizes 90% of my idea. FP will be an official US Gem Favorite. I'm 98% sure it will be. Not to mention I can see the Content Creators going nuts playing it. But EW really has to do it right in-order to do it justice. As I mentioned earlier its similar to the upcoming Scotland Reserve GAME wise but in the US & has 9 New Species over 5, & its a full Roster with 19 over 17.

#

But its up to you guys and the community if I should add Bison. Bear in mind that if I do, it will replace whitetail deer & reduce G1's from 4 to 3. The remaining 18 Species will remain as they are essential to this reserve.

I didn't at the start bc my focus is Upland & Small Game Driven. As I said earlier its Similar to Scotland's Roster but in the US. AR to me was EW's apology for SRP with Mtn Hunting. SRP to me represents CO & NM more than anything from my ventures IRL. My concept here (though still in the West) is focused with the Prairie, Sagebrush Sea, a small portion with the Rockies. • NW: Alpine Climates & Fir/Spruce/Mountain Hemlock Forests • NE: Semiarid Steppe (Short Grass Prairie) • Central: Sage Plains • South: Arid Desert

Bison is an iconic species here its true, but I didn't add them originally bc there's not a guarantee we'll see a Sharps as a true buffalo rifle to be added. Now if EW does add a Sharps I could justify it. As for AR in terms of being similar doesn't mean anything to me bc AR is Med-Lrg game Driven. As I said before in other posts some regional species will be repeated bc they are essential theirs no avoiding that but that doesn't excuse EW from releasing New Species found there or are only found there. I get the public's view on both US & EU locations bc its littered with the same species and thats on EW for not adding NEW GAME SPECIES but rather recycled existing instead. 1-2 New isn't enough to justify 80% of releases. I love MA however EW failed to release quite a few more species.I also blame the community demanding G1's as heavily as they do. Idrc for G1's but I do care about the base animal models that get reworked that comes from G1 additions. Though after AR & Scotland it looks like EW is getting back in gear after the several rework overhauls with both releases. I'll add my concept was also designed with several feedback requests in mind that inspired me to do this in the 1st place.

mental scaffold
#

Yeah a Sharps buffalo rifle is necessary for this

grave vigil
#

Whitetail deer are in Wyoming and I added them bc of the G1's bc I had both Casual & Grinders in mind. The only player base I didn't appeal to is the Waterfowl hunters (sry in advance guys). However I included Cranes as this has been a heavy mention & request for years. I'm glad after 4-5yrs EW finally introduced Waders with Woodcock on Scotland which imho is about time EW extends out to other waterfowl that isnt a quack or honk species.

grave vigil
#

Also I will not add Mtn Lions here I already have a fair number of predators both missing & are essential here. Yes, I did replace Black Bear for Grizzly bc EW didn't add them to AR & the only location we have them is Yukon! Also to note Grizzlies are listed as the top predator in WY. Blk Bears are everywhere so I can agree with "Ze Cowboy Coyote's" point with Whitetail Deer as well. But again my original list was driven to appeal to everyone as best as I could with various New Species, G1's, Returning Favorites that also need reworked. I also created New Impactful Character Arcs & a Strong Narrative to bring back Story Progression since EW strayed from their roots in that regard. The Side Quests are similar to Medved, & other driven locations that had immersive tasks bringing bk your characters role which was EW's foundation.

#

I truly believe if Frontier Park is done right with extreme care it should be in par with Layton, Medved, Savanna, New England Mountains, in Narrative, Species, Overall Gameplay, & ofc Map Design. Immersion is important & EW has been lacking this for awhile. I have high expectations for Scotland. Again AR was amazing but failed to add needed species, botched the 30-30, & the Narrative was a train wreck. Other than that, it was a success.

I had a community vote and Wolves won. Also I had several that would prefer Canadian Lynx in a Canada location. I did 👍 it bc I agree WY should get released and again its another good concept though the overall game roster is too broad. Not a bad thing for say as this has a selection to choose from, but it does leave room for EW to botch it returning too many species with 2-3 new. I pushed it with 20 over 19 but I revised to be more direct & essential species for the concept. Again my concept revolves around a reserve that has a reenactment hunt focus meaning you hunt the same way the pioneers did in the 1800's in modern day over a casual today hunt.

#

Also to note I purposely excluded waterfowl to add other species as well as Med-Lrg Game. Again its ironic to see Scotland similar for an EU location.

#

If I did add another aside from Cranes it would be a Snipe no question. If EW is forced to add a single quack it would have to be the Northern Shoveler.

elfin peak
# grave vigil I did 👍 it bc I agree WY should get released and again its another good concept...

I understand that, in addition to a new species Canada Lynx, Wolverine, American Badger, River otter, new rabbits and birds ect, this reserve also as a lot of rework and quality of life upgrades and changes to many North American species that really need it (Cougars, Grizzlies, Coyotes, Bobcats, RM Elk, Plains Bison, Turkeys Ect) and even some returning animals like Wolves because we really need a gray wolf in mountain lion shared reserve, and a Gray wolf and coyote shared reserve, Mule Deer, RM Bighorn, Mountain Goats ect you know animals are only on like two or three Reserves. Of course, then they’re the ones that are used constantly that I’ve marked as backfilled at later date.

grave vigil
#

Pretty much my view is WY has the potential to bring a US reserve bk on a Gem List. Montana is another 1 that fills the other missing Small Game like furbearers & as we both agree predators on the same reserve. I'm a bit bias that I think WY should be the next US location if we get 1. Then Montana; after that The waterfowl guys can get a 90% waterfowl paradise for both the US & EU. I still firmly believe EW needs to tackle other locations 1st before WY. South America, Africa, & Parts of Asia or even Japan before another US/Canada or EU location after Scotland!

#

As much as I poured alot into putting this post together other locations are needed and the US can wait. Besides I'd rather EW to bring their A game for this 1. The Frontier is a big part of our history as a nation & should receive the care it deserves since EW didn't quite nail the other locations except NEM. Yukon wasn't bad but still fell short sadly. SRP was rushed, Mississippi Acres lacked species otherwise was fun. Layton is Layton 😅. AR is Canadas day beau & 1st regional map & again was good but fell short.

grave vigil
#

I'll add its also essential EW expands on the Burrow & Warren Mechanics, adds Horses, & a late 1800's weapon pack. Weather wise I'd like to see elevation weather meaning it Snows & Rains. AR did the leap with snow on game & Beavers [Huge Win btw]. In my concept the rain forms marshes for the Cranes. With Scotland adding Burrows with Badgers I have high hopes they'll expand it to other species.

grave vigil
#

There's a lot I touched on in my concept from gameplay, animal behavior mechanics, model reworks, a new shooting range, gear, mounts, weather elements, narrative, history etc. Its a template for EW to utilize if they choose to use it. I can hope EW will use 90% of it but 60% is more likely. But...again I'll update this post as we go & again its up to you guys if I should replace Whitetail for Bison.

I'll give it till the end of next week to give everyone a chance to decide. I appreciate the continued support to the thread in hopes EW will utilize it in the future. With that said as much as I mostly agree Bison would be the ideal choice, bear in mind that it would only be ideal gameplay wise if EW releases a true Buffalo (Bison) rifle like the 1874 Shiloh Sharps: 50-140 [6-9] or an equivalent. Also, if Bison is added by popular vote (#1342242999526232196 message), I request EW to keep the population & respawns rather low. Even though its a reenactment hunt from the late 1800's its still in modern day & time so I dont expect to see massive herds or high populations. I get its a game but Bison are way too easy in-game which is another reason I didn't add them. so I hope EW you address this in the future.

Due to community vote I replaced Whitetail Deer for Plains Bison. I request to EW to reclass Bison as a Class 8 "NOT" a Class 9. I further added other potential G1 Models to Frontier Park. Again Frontier Park is a reenactment hunting reserve to replicate hunting game in the late 1800's in the US Western Frontier (Plains of Wyoming) in Modern Day. These kinds of hunts are often referred to as pioneer hunts. In the US Midwest these event/seasonal hunts are often primitive (archery, blackpowder, &/or, blackpowder paper cartridges). As a disclaimer the Whitlock 30-30 as is would make it a bit more authentic in concept to this theme, however.... The "Lapperiere Outrider 30-30" should be reclassed to 3-7 minimum or preferred (3-8) utilizing Modern Day Ammo! Not the Whitlock's Paper Cartridge Ammo or rather by todays standard Cowboy Shoot Loads!!! Mistakes &/or oversights were made & I'm requesting EW to correct this in the future. This further applies to 45-70, 44mag, .357/.38 Special, Brass Shells, & any other future &/or current Classic US Western Calibers.

#

Scotland was a huge success imho & in a way Frontier Park would be quite Similar to Scotlands release but in the US. If EW plays theirs cards right & release horses & a late 1800's weapon pack matching Frontiers Park theme & narrative, I have no doubt this would be a hit in the franchise. Esp. if the calibers & Game Animal reworks are applied in the update/patch.

mental scaffold

I think that would be perfect, especially if the horse handling is as good as RDR2

mental scaffold
#

Yeah that'd be fine

grave vigil
#

@mental scaffold But as I said before if EW did release Frontier Park or an equivalent I would sincerely hope they seriously take their time developing it as they have with Scotland over another copy & paste. I've noticed EW has a pattern with US reserves & they seriously lack detail in comparison to other locations. Even some EU reserves are not up to par but out of all the maps we have & narratives nearly every US reserve feels rushed. To be fair they were earlier releases but moving fwd I have some hope EW will do better on the next US release(s). I'll stress I dont expect another US release soon before other world locations 1st. But either way, I want a strong US release. Scotland was amazing & is now part of my top 5 fav. reserves.

#

The only US locations I enjoy is Layton & New England Mountains. Yukon is lacking, SRP is a disaster, Mississippi isn't bad but it's also lacking various species.

mental scaffold
#

Oh yeah I agree. Quite a few maps have amazing potential but overall feel hideously unrealized

grave vigil
#

Also I'll add SRP better represents CO & NM Mountain hunting. Though done poorly it doesn't represent the Western Frontier in the slightest missing the prairie. I'll give EW some slack given the pandemic but still. Wyoming is perfect to release missing Game and provides tons of opportunity to further expand on the Burrows, Beaver, & Warren mechanics. I laid out character arcs, a plot/theme for the narrative, western lore & history, even a community interactable with a steel shooting range, new species, reworks, G1's, horses, outfits, trophy mounts, etc. to inspire EW.

#

However, if EW did add the reworks, horses, & backfills proposed with my concept, SRP could make a comeback & recover as a refresh.

mental scaffold
#

The game really needs more improvements than new stuff

grave vigil
# mental scaffold The game really needs more improvements than new stuff

I agree & disagree. I'll agree our equipment/gear should be a key focus right now. Game Animals & Mechanics is 2nd; 3rd is Map Design. EW has the Maps down pretty well & theyre gradually updating the animals as of late which is good but still an issue in the behavior department. Methods, techniques, & ways to pursue them is an issue bc they nearly all act identically w/o individuality. However the thing that is killing the game for me the most is our gear & equipment that hasn't been addressed except the E-Caller.

#

Scotland was a great release finally adding a new mechanic & I'd like to see these kinds of changes applied to existing & newly added species. I think the Upland & Waterfowl guys would agree that ea. species should have their own mechanic differences as well such as flight speed & patterns as an ex.

#

I could break it down further, but many have already posted threads on multiple species in their rework requests in-depth just as I did with my Predator Update Post. But our existing gear & equipment has a long way to go to be overhauled bc its in shambles. Scents, Calibers, Ammo & Shells need to be redone heavily. But they also need to be expanded as well. I'll further add that we still havn't received Decoys outside of waterfowl! I'm still hoping that after the feeders released, we start seeing a gear expansion with reworks. Lodges & Mounts is another big issue as well sadly 😮‍💨

grave vigil
#

But given the games age & still supporting old Generation systems I'd expect EW will tweak things as they go (hopefully for the better). But I still firmly believe EW would benefit to strongly consider a new title in the franchise utilizing a new ver. &/or new gen engine that can support way more features & mechanics. Even WotH's developer realized they were limited & made the wise move to move fwd with a new engine to expand their Horizons.

#

In truth CotW is stagnant at the moment unless new mechanics are applied along with the gear overhauls. Imho it would refresh the game in a big way if they do. AR, Scotland, & the Feeders (to a degree) is a good start. However the lodge update imho was released too early & was unfinished.

#

Ofc the things I just mentioned is a core reasons why I dont expect FP to release soon. I would guess 2-3 more years give or take to do this concept justice.
