I think we can all agree the great one European hare is definitely the most wanted great one in the game by far so I made some concept art for this majestic beast I have poorly drawn this since my skills digitally drawing are not very good but the concept is that instead or rack or antlers like other great ones have the European rabbit will have the 50/50 chance of their ears being droopy or straight up they will be able to appear on any fur exactly like a rack I just thought this would be a cool idea since great ones without antlers lack much variety

I thought we all enjoyed the g1 euro hare

If we get a G1 Hare or Rabbit it better be a buck with battle scars & Knoche'd ears. Despite how cute they may appear Rabbit & Hare Buck's are not kind & territorial when theirs Doe's.

I think some market research is in order. I highly doubt this is the “most wanted g1”, but I appreciate the effort and that concept art. Most creativity I’ve seen since the larger magazines post came out.

I have heard many requests to bring the European hare specifically into the game on the general server and such

But overall I'm not against anything being a G1 but I'm seeing more of a fantasy trend lately & I'd like to see more authentic models that stand out like how the moose & Whitetail do.

#

Credit to EW for the models they do look good but those I feel should lean more towards seasonal really rare game. Kinda how the Angler introduced Ghost fish on the Angler. I think the skull face Tar & some wolf concepts I think would be great additions towards the seasonals, not as G1's but almost as rare but still attainable for let's say a month to give a fair time span. I feel 2 weeks is too short since we have lives & obligations.

#

Thats my opinion on that but I hunt Rabbits & Hares on the side when I sim hunt so I'm not against a G1. It'd defn keep the Grinders busy for a while. Besides their zones are everywhere.

I seen that post & enjoyed the thought esp. with the Beagle although EW cut out the opportunity with the Pointers ability which was a bit of a letdown bc I expected the pointer to have a limited & dedicated use like the lab. If they had, it would've opened opportunity for 2 more dogs bc we need a predator dog like an Akita for up to Class 8 Game. Theres very few breeds that have been mentioned for Class 9 but I dont think their necessary.

#

Honestly if we got a location in Japan an Akita would be the best time to add one esp. if we get more Snow Covered Reserves & I really hope we get more after this year bc I love Medved & I was hoping Yukon would've been but they had transition snows here & there. Same with Nepal in the Northern part 😢

Don't see how the pointer skill changes the ability of a beagle or any other dog having the chase skill to hunt rabbits???

And the secondary skill just adds more versatility to have many different breeds with lots of skill variety .... Today we have skills like tracker, pointer and retriever .... But they could also add skills like chasing, guarding and transportation ...

I have also seen someone suggest burrowing skill ... So skills are pretty much independent of the dogs breed ....

You could have for example an Akita guard dog that's a secondary tracker ... This is all detailed more here https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1071107633571963031

I was referring to the ability to track not so much as chase. The pointers ability to track Sm, Med, Lrg Game is more what I'd expect a beagle to do with C: 1-2 maybe 3 game. But I'm also aware of other skills like guard & burrow flushing. Dog Transportation dog sleds is what comes to mind. I'll go back to your thread to review your description of the chase skill bc I'm having a hard time visualizing how its beneficial over the existing tracking.

#

After looking it over its not much different than the flush. Only difference is instead of the game running to you its chased in a circle.

I see dog skills and breeds as very situational and customizable ... The same way you might customize your hunt with a certain gun ... Or change your outfit/load out to hunt a specific reserve ....

If Im specifically wanting to hunt rabbits I would use my favorite chase dog ... Could be a beagle or some other breed ....

If I want to hunt upland birds I will take out my pointer (using the small game pointing skill) .... If I'm hunting bigger game I'll use my favorite tracker ..... or perhaps another breed of dog that's trained in the pointer skill and use the the pointer med or large commands

The way they have designed it is very customizable ... we just need more breeds which EW can sell as DLC

Of course there is nothing preventing you from stalk hunting rabbits the way its is currently in the game ... Or even using a dog with the small game pointer skill from finding them for you ...

It just gives you more variety in how you want to hunt ... more variety means less boredom and more fun ....

kindred lotus

😂 No your right I'm not against it I'm just trying to visualize it bc with my dogs with rabbits its never gone the way you explain it. More often than not the dog tracks, holds, flushes, gives chase and redirects them towards you and I've never had rabbits circle its rng zig zags, bk n forth, Left/Right, but never a circle let alone a figure 8. But thats if I dont shoot it right away after being flushed.

drifting bone
# kindred lotus No I get that I do it often in-game but bc the pointer has the skill set for tra...

Yes you will have some people that might use silly and unrealistic breed/skill combinations but I'm like you my and more traditional so my lab is a dedicated retriever for duck hunting

but I also have him trained as a secondary tracker ..... because the retriever skill doesn't always work if I shoot something far away .... or the dead duck lands in a place thats hard for the dog ai to get to ....

So you will see some silly breed skill combinations but in my mind that's okay ....

There are several pointer breeds that also make good water dogs

Hitting then on the run would be pretty challenging unless maybe using a 10GA with buck shot

kindred lotus
drifting bone
#

Yeah beagles for just hogs in general or anothe rlarger breed but warthogs can be pretty nasty ... but nothing game wise saying you cant chase warthogs with a beagle .... I'm just all about customization

kindred lotus
#

100% with yea there. EW is on a good track lately with applying customization options I just want them to raise the bar with it. We really need more in-game credit use esp. since they pretty much give you DLC's for free in-game sadly 😮‍💨

drifting bone
#

As far as the pointer skill goes I would like to see them specialize that a little bit ... So maybe change the pointer skill Into 3 skills small, medium and large .... this will also free up the command wheel as well so it's not so cluttered

It did throw me off adding Med & Lrg to it. I only expected it to find & flush C: 1-2 like how the retrieving limit I believe is C:2. A POV slider would be nice & I went in-depth with this in an older thread.

drifting bone
#

the problem with a slider is that some players might try to zoom out so they can see game that they would not ordinary see ...

So in 3rd person POV would need to be narrow enough to see the general terrain around you but not wide enough to be exploitable ....

I suggested in another thread that they make 3rd person reasonably narrow while moving but auto-switch to 1st person when aiming or glassing .... https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1184097697305727016
....

#

I think a good 3rd person prospective would be like the one used when riding an ATV .... Also keeping the 360 degree camera rotation ...

kindred lotus
#

Yea I remember that thread and the slider I had in mind is like 3 distance settings. Personally I'd be fine with an over shoulder view that you can pan left or right. To boot the ability to rest on terrian would be grand but given the issues EW had with trees idk if they'd go that far.

drifting bone
#

Well if you havent tried 3rd person on the ATV give it a try ... they seem to have worked out the kinks with that ....

Thanks for the bumps

drifting bone
#

A slider in first person ... never thought about that ... we do have zoom when using a scope or binocs ... so the slider would be used when not sighting or glassing ???? I'll have to think about that one ?

drifting bone

If I'm honest I'm crouched 75% of the time bc of the weapon view angle. I know Starfield released a slider last year I believe to allow the FOV back so the hands & weapons arent in your face.
