i just shot (and killed) a grey wolf with a .308 on Yukon today (hunting pressure appeared) and went to track it. when i found the track there was no starting impact (just thought it had failed to render) but there was a blood trail so i followed it. the trail counted down as normal until it hit 0% at which point it kept going for at least 300-500m and ended at the waters edge. i assumed it had died in the water so i followed the waters edge back in the direction i shot it but could not find it until it appeared from the water, bit (impacted) me, then ran off leaving no trail. no matter where i looked there was no body and no prints/blood from where it exited the water. i am annoyed by the occasional ghost/zombie kill but to have them attacking now is a step to far.
