We do not need anymore AR’s
I'd like to see Bolt & Lever Variants. When the Modern pack released, I had hoped it wouldn't only be semi-autos.
In referring to cookie cutter semi automatics. Not modern lever actions
I figured. I wanted to make a point in general that AR's do have alternative actions. Sadly, not many know they exist 😅
I have zero problem with AR’s irl. They have their uses as very versatile and modular platforms but in a hunting game with no attachment system the many pro’s of the AR become kinda… useless
I do agree with you the lack of accessories & options is staggering. But I wouldn't be upset if we got a modern pk 2 with a black powder, bolt, & a lever AR Platform. Semi Auto wise if any I'd rather see more classic/traditional/post war models
Now, on the other hand I’d love to see a .50 Alaskan and .450BM ar equivalent as I do enjoy the underdog of The Hunter Choice Pack: The Johannsen
Only AR I found thus far for 450BM that isn't semi auto is an LVRB (Lever AR coming soon) otherwise its in a S-A AR or traditional bolt/Single action. As for the .50 that would be another unique choice though I'd like the Beowulf. Both would be pretty nice.
I love the 450BM Irl & in-game & voted for it so I use it very often. I've been shopping for years for 1 after a friend leant me his awhile back. But being an AR cartridge I have yet to find 1 in an AR Bolt.
I tried Uintah Precision (Local here in Utah) to see if they could build 1 and they replied they couldn't due to the unique mag weld & port size when compared to common AR 10/15 ports as well as mags. But that was years ago.
But more Straight Case Calibers would be nice to see in general as well.
I’d like to see other semi autos get more attention like a BAR Safari mentioned in the Surplus Rifles thread
The BAR is an entirely different thing imo because it’s not a cookie cutter AR-15. I agree
Could do other rifles like a Kel Tec SU-16, Ruger Model 44, Springfield M1A, FN FAL, Molot Vepr, and many other than can be as interesting or more so than a AR
But overall I do agree most AR's are cookie cutter with the handguards, Grip, & Stock aside from the generic S-A action. If we had the option to swap out these parts including barrel & muzzle options to further apply use and function it would be way better. Esp. if we were given the option to pick calibers. It would've been better if EW released an AR 10/15 & provided a selector from: Action, Caliber, Barrel, Muzzle, Guard &/or Stock. This would've been ideal for every weapon we have including bows & shotguns. But this is a feat. I'd expect in a new title I'd be shocked if they added this to TH:CotW
Kind of like the system in Escape for Tarkov in terms of weapon customization.
Idk, that might be a bit too much for this game, especially if you give each individual component pros & cons to balance them.
While I would like to see more attachments like shotgun chokes and maybe some muzzle devices, I think, other than balancing and possible reclassing, the weapons are fine as is. But I could be wrong.
I never played EoT but most modern shooters have the weapon build options. GR-Future Soldier had an awsome gunsmith option with depth from triggers, actions, barrels, muzzle, stocks, grips, bipods, etc.. It was by far the most depth I've seen in weapon build mechanics over COD that yes you have options but your limited to 5 which is ridiculous. If a developer provides a build option a player should be able to apply parts to every slot available period w/o being restricted to a few. Hunting weapons are no different. Irl only 35% will likely ADD more to a weapon while 65% will most likely NOT add more than a sight & sling. But if players had the option to apply parts & accessories to a weapon to improve playstyle & function, I doubt anyone would complain even if its simple. EW missed an opportunity to apply weapon mastery while not only improving your effective use but as you progress you also unlock components for the specific weapon. The overall mastery currently is. . . well. . not great even for an 8+ yr game 😓
