GREAT ONE ROOSEVELT ELK CONCEPT ART/OPEN TO RECOMMENDATIONS

I really would like to see great one roosevelt elks in this game someday and here are a few pieces of concept art that I drew up to imagine what they could look like.

Please keep in mind that these are just concept pieces and are not fully detailed. Coloring on antlers can be subject to change and could include shedding/velvet/vegetation (like the red deer).

My fur types are based off of a fire theme and include:

-Charcoal
-Ember
-Smoke
-Spark
-Ash

-Chinook (friend recommendation)

The current racks I have include:

-Typical
-Nontypical
-Irish/Bladed
-Ripsaw

I also am open to the idea of creating new furs and racks based off of recommendations, references would be greatly appreciated.

If there are any combos out of the current furs and racks that any would like to see let me know and I can post them here in this forum.

These look really great. I was wondering though, what's your thoughts on leaving one side of the antlers just a little bit straighter and leaving the other side like it is so it's not so symmetrical? I think that might add a little bit more character to it.

It could just be my personal preference thinking that. Either way it would look good

Elk, caribou, beceite ibex, feral goat could become the most beautiful GO but devs did mistake gave us a fox and pheasant. Tired hunters quit the game because these GO are unreal for 99.9% of hunters. Sell the game is easy keeping hunters is a whole science.

Plenty of people are happy with the GOs we currently have. There's nothing wrong with that. There are just other species that also deserve GOs.

If the Greats Ones was 100 percent true to life, I think they would be boring. I like that they have a little bit of fantasy.

Obviously I wouldn't want them to go ridiculously over the top with the fantasy though.

Main thing about this game is that you can get cool as hell stuff that you wouldn't IRL.

Cool Rares and Great Ones is the main thing I search for in the game. There would be no point in playing the game for me if they didn't have those. It's not like I can eat the meat off of the pixels 🤣

I have a thing for big moose. I've already got a GO, and I'd love to spawn a Super Rare, but I grind moose just to enjoy having giant critters on my maps for myself to enjoy watching and to be able to guide my buddies to get their diamonds. I like to pattern them too and figure out what they're doing with their day. Anyone can take a diamond over water, but being able to sneak in to a feed or rest area or call them into you makes it so much more enjoyable.

Rest zones can be some great hunting. I've seen some huge rest zones before. I couldn't believe how many animals some of them had in it.

We should probably get back on topic. Bring on the Great One Elk!

Fallow deer il's ideally balance of GO for those who want it without thousands of kills. The new GO only for grinders. Feral goat, caribou and beceite ibex they are like fallow deer but devs decided not to give any chance for those who don't want to grind but want GO

its okay if its not your preference to have unrealistic g1s in the game, as its okay to make my designs the way I would like to see them look in the game. There's no reason to come into a concept art forum just to make comments like this because they're not up to code on what you'd like to see in game.

if you saw that they werent something you'd like to see in game, the option of scrolling past is always available

Fabald Corn: Corn yellow on body and head. Few small spots of darker yellow, orange, ivory and dark blue on the body, like a corn. And dark purple-blue on the legs .

We really need more Elk & they really need love as well. Its almost criminal it wasn't an option in the polls awhile back. At least muley's are getting love but still; elk should be iconic.

Canada has their Moose [G1/Reworked], EU has their Red Deer [G1/Reworked], Africa got their Cape Buffalo [Reworked], US needs their Elk.

Yeah, even though I don't really like Elk I think I would hunt them more in-game if they looked better, as well as having a Great One. Both species don't look great. And the furs on both are too orange or too gray

EW has a nasty trend focusing on Moose & Red Deer more than any Species we have & they are everywhere. This wouldn't bug me but they both have been heavily reworked & have G1's to boot. Capes got touched up awhile back but could use a refresh at some point. But Elk have been ignored. These 4 are the most iconic game in the world excluding other deer & sheep species. Whitetail got reworked & a G1, most likely after the polls Mule Deer will as well. As a predator hunter I'm glad to see wolves get the TLC they need as well but again where's the Elk update & why was it not an option in the polls 😅? I'm a bit passionate about it bc its what I hunt in-game aside from Medved & Predators.

I wouldn't count Moose as Canada getting it's Great One since we don't have a Canadian Reserve at all (With Yukon Valley being Alaskan and Layton being in the Washington/Oregon area and whatnot)

Not the point I was getting at it wasn't based on location it was based on prized Game specifically.

@rigid dove Canadians love their moose, Europeans love their great stag Red Deer, Africa with their Cape, in the US our Elk. Now I'm aware Africa's Big 5 are the gems but more often then not most hunt cape bc its affordable compared to the others. And I'm not counting deer bc they are overrated imho in comparison to other big game we have in the US. Idk if you've ever hunted Elk but its a whole different experience than hunting deer. Moose is the next tier but not many get the opportunity to hunt them unlike Elk.

Moose, Red Deer, & Cape have been reworked at some point. (Capes need revisited again bc it wasn't quite done right). Moose & Red Deer have G1's. Roosevelt & Rocky Elk haven't been touched since day 1 at all in 6-8yrs. That is my point. I'm hoping to see them reworked with additional racks & possibly get a realistic G1 like the Moose & whitetail did. I really dont want to see fantasy patterns & or colors like the newer G1's. Yea their cool to get but not ideal. I hold my standards pretty high in all hunting games when it comes to Elk followed by Predators, Furbearer Species, & Upland Birds just as much as folks go nuts about ducks & geese.

Ymtw. I was surfing youtube awhile back & I watched a few animation creators with animal art stories and your art reminded me of them. I always enjoy these kinds of concepts bc it has character & depth to it. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little envious 🤣 its hard for me to draw these days. Though I haven't had the opportunity to try my hand at digital art yet where the tools make it easier to layer & correct mistakes.

oh yeah I would have to say that’s what I love most about digital. I’ve been a traditional artist for over 15 years and I recently went to digital and the accessibility it has made me more interested in trying colored projects instead of just sketching. hopefully you do get to try it out soon bc it’s super helpful! and tysm for the compliments it means a lot to be bc I do pour a lot into these designs so the support is so appreciated!
