I'd like to have safety switch on the rifles. As a ps5 player I sometimes put aside my controller to grab cup of coffee or something. Sometimes I hit the R2-Button accidentally and fire the rifle.

Like irl i'd like to have a safety switch on my rifles to set them in to a shot ready mode and have them locked otherwise. This could be switched by holding down e.g. square or something, with a little UI indicator and a click sound.

This feature could be optional by enabling it in the settings.
Also: pulling out a rifle (switching from binoculars to a rifle) should default to the locked state making it an intentional action to unlock the trigger and getting ready to shoot.

This could really increase the immersion and make taking a shot a more intensive moment.

Nope, manual bullet cycling affects only bolt actions and only works upon not completely filled up mags. If you have a filled up mag, you always have a round in the chamber without any safety option.

And yes, i have manual bullet cycling turned on for immersion reasons

Only if they make the many many many break actions stay open as the safety feature.

I think, (if the proposed safety option is enabled in the settings) i would like to always have the rifle locked when i choose it from the weapon wheel, so that i have to intentionally need to unlock the safety. Safety is priority. Pulling out a rifle in the unlocked state per default would make the feature useless.
People who don't like it could disable the feature using the settings (so you have the well know current behavior)

I wouldn't mind if the safety turn on/off sound would be the same on all rifles or would be a reuse of the grelck drilling shot/bullet switch sound.
As indicator of locked or unlocked state the zero distance numbers could be displayed red if locked and green if unlocked - with the locked state as default after pulling out the rifle.

Bringing it to EW's attention here might increase the probability of us getting this feature. In fact it is a small QOL feature, that should be really easy to code.
