"Frontier Park" is a Salzwiezen inspired concept located in the US state of Wyoming. As the name implies, you're going to experience a part of the Western Frontier & narrative history exploring the various biomes within the Sagebrush Sea in style by means of horse back. Not to mention looking the part in your new "Fur & Pelt Trapper Outfit" provided by the very game you will find here on your journey just as the trappers once did. You're not permitted to use any traps here. But worry not as you will be gifted a "Model 1878 SxS 2x Hammer Coach 12ga" to get you started. Feel free to camp under the stars or seek comfort in our historic trapper lodges throughout the park. If you choose to do so you might find something helpful along the way. - HINT: Lodges may have clues where you might stumble on some game in the area.

Actually love this idea, it looks like a lot of the area around my house. I don't mind the skunk being there but I'll be honest, I've seen 2 in the last 3 years. It might just be my particular area.

Appreciate it fellas, I thought long and hard about designing this one with a bit of everything with the added cultural history & reference into it.

I do have one request tho, I want you to look into the Spencer repeating rifle. It came into play at the end of the Civil War and made it's way west with quite a few travelers. The caliber and action were quite a bit different than what you normally see but it could use the same type of sights and smoke cloud as Sundarpatan's rifle.
.56-56 Spencer was the most common load so have a look at that

See I had no idea this thing was as common as it was. I found a museum here with one on display and started reading about them.

A lot came west with soldiers and they were used a lot for hunting smaller animals like deer and Pronghorn because the bigger calibers wasted meat apparently. I can't really say how much of what I read was true because internet but I can say for sure there were way more out here than I thought there would be. Several articles credit early victories in skirmish with the native tribes to this thing. I even found some articles about long range shooting

the videos I watched were shooting gongs at 180yds give or take. I was considering it till I seen the bullet & cycling but game physics have perfect cycling functions. It was tough to pick from the selections I looked at & I had a thought that we dont have a 2xhammer SxS yet & the themed pack I wanted to cover class ranges as well as some fan fav.. I was pretty close to adding the 1887 Winchester 70 Express & was like well....the sharps would be a more recognized choice 😅 And I made sure to get a photo with the scope so if EW were to add a sharps it would include the scope with it over just the famous peep sight. But I do love the trapdoor rifles ALOT as well!

Not gonna lie it took me awhile to decide the waterfowl w/o including any existing species. I knew cranes have been heavily mentioned snipes I enjoyed, and I noticed a thread specifically requesting them. The 2 ducks looked the prettiest from the brochure and fit well with the setting & biomes. Other species & the trumpeter swan I felt would be better suited elsewhere. Plus the theme of this journey is more directed towards furbearers & the famous upland grouse.

#

Yeah I totally dig there being less waterfowl and more grouse

void night
#

I was hoping that SP would've been more upland & small game given the pointer but 😅 more waterfowl than expected. But given the region I guess waterfowl is pretty huge so I can look past that given the circumstance. However I will give EW credit where its do on the fox & pheasant. But sadly I have yet to find the grouse 😓❓

Fair, I would love to see some lekking behavior in-game. The capercaillie stack technically is but otherwise

void night
#

yea 3 of the 5 furbearers (Canadian lynx, fisher cat, & wolverines) are legal elsewhere and (spotted skunk & ring-tailed cat) are non huntable anywhere to my knowledge (but dont quote me). Prairie chickens if I recall are well known in other states than here & Sage grouse though they are huntable, they are also heavily monitored & regulated.

#

I agree more authentic behaviors as a whole & breeding courtships would be welcoming indeed.

For a bit more clarity Frontier Park is a reenactment hunting reserve concept set in Wyoming inspired from Salzwiezen Park & is similar to Pioneer Blackpowder hunts today but set in the Western Frontier themed from the Wild West era in the late 1800's along with the state's history, background, & fur trade its well known for. Within the park you will find historical trapper camps & lodges throughout the reserve where hunters are permitted to rest &/or set up camp. These locations may have clues where you might stumble on game in the area. You will also find an old Frontier town were settlers once called home & set up shops. Atv's are permitted however for the authentic experience we recommend the use of horses. A local fur & leather tailor has offered to make you a fur & pelt outfit provided your able to acquire the game requested from our thriving furbearer game as a gift for visiting our park for the 1st time. You will also receive an 1878 Coach SxS Double Hammer 12ga suitable to not only hunt our furbearer game but the state of Wyoming's famous upland birds & waterfowl. Quests will be as follows: hunting, photography, exploring, & finding Western & Native American artifacts. Might even see the Spirit of the West on your Journey.

#

•In Western lore, the "Spirit of the West" represents the pioneering spirit of adventure, resilience, and self-reliance associated with the American frontier, often embodied by the archetype of the cowboy, signifying the courage to venture into unknown territory, overcome challenges, and build new communities in the vast, untamed lands of the West; it encapsulates the idea of a new beginning and the potential for personal growth through exploration and hard work.

#

If EW releases "Frontier Park" I also propose EW to consider & release a Frontier Weapon Pack & Horse DLC to really fit the scenery & vibe to the players.

Frontier Weapon Pack
1873 Winchester Trapper .357/38spec (2-6/1-3)
1873 Springfield Trapdoor 45-70 (4-9)
1874 Shiloh Sharps 50-140 (7-9)

void night
#

If EW is willing to go the extra mile a steel gong range by the reserves starting point for multiple shoots including cowboy shoots would really catch players interest & immersive gameplay. I mean who doesn't love the sound of a ting confirming a hit at steel silhouettes & gongs 😉 As an added feature if EW is capable add a function &/or option to have timed shoots.

I think if they made this map bigger than revontuli it would really give it that vast full mountain western feel, and give people the opportunity to explore longer 🤔

formal tiger
#

Then again to it could give off nostalgia for some people from the Wii game Cabela's Hunting Expeditions 2012 when you could hunt in Montana lol

shell prism

This would be by far the most beautiful map ever

void night
# formal tiger I think if they made this map bigger than revontuli it would really give it that...

I wouldn't mind it being 2/3 the size of a full map but not 1/3 like Salzwiesen Park. I'd be surprised if EW made this a full size reserve to scale & transition the biomes. Given the game list. But I wouldnt mind a 2.0 to this with Medium-Large Game either & I did consider it. But I wanted a setting & narrative to go with it bc SP & Revontuli were just tours & kinda bumed me out not having more to it.

Ppl will ask me why...why another US location? My answer is simple a new take on a style of hunts most ppl don't know about that exists. When ppl think hunting, they instantly see & explain modern methods and weapon seasonal hunts. I want to introduce reenactment hunts to CotW. What is a reenactment hunt? Its a traditional hunt where hunters reenact a specialized hunt from a set year as one did back in that era. Ex. Pioneer Blackpowder deer hunts, 1920's style squirrel hunts, Primitive Only (Spears & Long Bows) etc. In "Frontier Park" (Not an official park, its a concept). Is a "Late 1800's C: 1-3" furbearer Reenactment Hunt in the Western Frontier Wyoming that resides within the Sagebrush Sea.

The Sagebrush Sea is a vast, arid landscape of sagebrush grasslands in the American West. A high desert ecosystem that is a complex web of plants and animals that's also a vital habitat for many species. Such as a migratory corridor for birds, and a winter habitat for mule deer, elk, sage-grouse, pronghorn, Lahontan cutthroat trout just to name a few.

Why Wyoming?
• Its 1 of the 3 top states in the US for furbearers next to Alaska & Idaho that have strong fur trades within the US. (Its a Park so NO! You are not permitted to trap here.) However, it is part of the narrative history, & ofc you "will be permitted" to hunt them w/o the use of traps.
• Its home to iconic grouse like the Sage & Sharp-Tailed Grouse not to mention one of many hot spots to find Sandhill cranes.
• US Western Frontier History, Culture, & Scenery

#

Added Feat.:
• 2/3 (Medium-size) or a Full-Size Reserve (Up to EW) but NOT 1/3 (Small-Size) reserve like Salzweisen Park.
• Horse DLC: Horse Back as a means of travel over the common use of ATV's & UTV's for an immersive authentic experience.
• A Steel Plate Range: friends & enthusiasts alike can part take in Cowboy Shoots at various distances shooting different steel silhouettes & plates.
• Fur/Pelt Trapper Outfit - Quest Reward
• Late 1800's Weapon use for an authentic Western experience (Ofc use what you prefer)
• 2x Hammer Coach SxS 12ga - Reserve Gift

• Frontier Weapon Pack DLC

  • 1873 Winchester Trapper .357/38spec (2-6/1-3)
  • 1873 Springfield Trapdoor 45-70 (4-9)
  • 1874 Shiloh Sharps 50-140 (7-9)

• Frontier Gear Pack

  • Canvas Wall Tent: New tent
  • Spy Glass: 5-10x38
  • Ammo Belt w/ Holster: Reduces Ammo weight by 1/3 + 25% Quick Draw with Handguns

The 1873 Springfield would be by far my favorite gun. And would you be able to attach a scope on the 1873 Springfield

void night
shell prism
#

could you mount a scope on the side?

void night
#

no bc the optic would collide with the trapdoor. Even if it was mounted on the side that's why the iron sights are mounted as far as they are. In order to clear the trapdoor a scope would be mounted so far fwd you wouldn't be able to use it. I did look into it & found nothing for it. However I could see a red dot replacing the rear iron sights being plausible.

shell prism
#

that could be possible

void night
#

If they had an optic I would've added it. Levers have options and sharps are falling blocks so an optic isn't in the way to use the action. Trapdoors open wide and would hit an optic no matter what you did due to height and eye relief would be too far. But a red dot is easier to see & use given where the rear sight sits so I can see that really being your only option given the action.

#

If it were me I'd use the elevation peep sight over modern optics but thats my preference.

#

but the elevation sights are either the rear sight itself like the Gandhare or behind the action like the Sharps do. Given my options I'd rather have the rear receiver like the Sharps over the rear iron like the Gandhare.

#

technically the Gandhare could've used the scope from the Hudzik but EW didn't apply it & the Sharps basically use it as well.

The Trapper Outfit? I think its from RDR2. It was the only real good example I could find to represent the outfit. Since photos back then were a rarity & expensive. Its likely alot of photos were lost &/or destroyed before the end of the wild west era. 1900's civilization shifted and so did technology.

@void night damn this sounds great! I'd also love an extra mountain man weapon pack to go with it. with 2 flintlock rifles one in .30 and one in .50 caliber. and maybe a .45 caliber pistol to go with them. The .30 would be classes 1-3. The .50 [or maybe a .54] for classes 6-9. and the pistol for classes 3-6.

@chrome flare @split spoke I made 2 versions for this reserve. 1 with [C:1-3] & the 2.0 ver. with [C:1-7]. Story, location, & content are the same just with different game lists. I wanted the community & Dev's to have options if it would get considered. I'd be happy with either one.
