Taxidermy Overhaul

To my eyes, taxidermy seems somewhat neglected. That, my friend, is why I'm suggesting a taxidermy overhaul! This overhaul could introduce new features, update existing ones, and improve the overall aspect of taxidermy! Features this overhaul could include are...

NEW

Poseable Taxidermy | Make your own poses for plaques, with restrictions like joints to prevent odd poses! A community center could feature user-made poses.

Make Your Own Multimounts | Creating your own multimounts with animal limit restrictions could be fun! A community center could also feature premade multimounts by others.

Moving & Changing Plaques and Stands | Take unused plaques and move them to new walls, and change plaque sizes for convenience. This could help with the asymmetry in Spring Creek and Saseka Safari or the design of your lodge.

Decorate Stands/Multimounts/Plaques | Adding rocks to multimounts, a tree to a stand, and even adding wall scenic mounts would be nice! A community center could feature user-created decor presets.

Editable Plaques/Stands | Changing the wood type, swapping the wood for metal like silver or gold, and name the animal on a nameplate (e.g., "Raven - that one black coyote") could really give your lodge the aesthetics you want it to have.

IMPROVE

Additional Info to the Taxidermy's Info | Adding details like weapon used, distance, organs hit, and map to the taxidermy info could bring back memories and help you flex on your animal! This feature could also put in notes about the animal. (e.g. you have an albino hare and put in the note section, "i got lucky at a warren ig")

Add More Types | More types of taxidermy for stands and plaques could be nice! This includes pedestals (perhaps multimounts for them as well?), shouldered taxidermy, a bigger plaque size, halfbody taxidermies, wall mounted fullbodies, wall multimounts, etc.!

Let me provide some more examples for poses you could make with the poseability feature, multimount, scenic wall mounts, and wall half bodies!
1st. half body w/ a decor rock thing for bighorn
2nd. scenic wall mount of bobcat :3
3rd. scenic wall mount for red fox
4th. different version of scenic wall mount!!!
5th. halfbody w/ scenery heheheh
6th. multimount poseability possibility!!!
7th. MAYBEE we can have wall multimounts?? that seems really cool eheheh you could make a halved fox on the wall attempting to catch a pheasant? ooh
8th. what you could do with poseability and decor!!!!!
9th. example of makeable multimount w/ decor !!!!!

maybe im asking for too much but like also what if we could like design a pose and then put it on a smaller than normal mount if it can fit?? like a buck jumping can fit on the small circular stand..? (i.e. 8th picture hehe)

I really find this an interesting concept. The idea of making custom mounts or adding to mounts or decorating them seems really cool, and the community hub for pre made designs is also a very cool idea. I hope this gets added

I don't remember if any of the possible lodges have beams going across the ceiling but if so we could put mounts up on the beams like how cabelas has mountain lions or other big predators that stalk it's prey on the beam going across the ceiling like it's stalking the player.

Most people do full body mounts(justifiably so) but if I ever hunt a bongo I would go with that mount

love the idea omg ❤️ perhaps there could be like animals (like ducks or rabbits maybe coyote or smth) able to like be upon chandeliers its weird but like it'd be cool aesthetics .,.
there could also be like a bear on a column if they're ever added

The column would have a similar texture to a tree so it looks like the bear is climbing a tree, that would look so good for great one bears. Also the chandelier idea is very good idea

NEW TAXIDERMY STUFF - WAVE 1

• wall-mounted fullbodies
• shouldered mounts
• half bodies
• wall multimounts
• new plaque size - XXL (XL, L, M, S, XS)
• new stand type - pedestals (large, medium, small)

RANDOM BUT NEEDED INFO

• all C2-6 get wall mounted full bodies if the plaque is big enough
• everything except C1-C2 (some species in C2) get shouldered mounts
• wall mounted full bodies would work like rabbits/hares on plaques
• will be doing indepth info posts about each bit of wave 1 soonish, then on to wave 2!!!
• i will stand by this till the day i die - THIS BETTER BE A FREE QOL UPDATE I SWEAR 👹👹

ohh like that? i would love that!!! its hard for me to find snow leopards cuz i always end up panicking out of excitement and then miss my shot when i accidently scare it

and allowing for prey animals to be changed would be nice as well because if the animal was there, the predator would totally try to hunt it so it'd be accurate

wait... do you think that they would release a lodge dlc that had all of these features? like a lodge that had wall decor mounts, pedestals, new plaque size, etc.?

that way they dont have to rearrange everything in the lodges

• for editable plaques/stands/pedestals, here are the following materials you could change the base AND rim with: unfinished (for rustic vibes, pairs best with saseka safari), cedar, redwood, oak, willow, juniper (default), bronze, platinum, gold, silver, rust (for rustic vibes, pairs best with saseka safari), obsidian
• nameplate option could be added along with editing plaques/stands/pedestals; nameplate could be of the following materials: gold, rust (for rustic vibes, pairs best with saseka safari), bronze, silver, platinum, obsidian
• perhaps there could be cosmetic packs for base editing; for example, hunter's camo pack could have a variety of camo patterns for the base/rim of a base.
• additional info to the taxidermy would include: a notes section, distance shot, organs hit, gun+ammo used, map shot in, and region of map shot in.
• decor mounts would be wall-mounted decor such as tree branchs or a rock where animals could be mounted; this includes animals on chandeliers & @old basin's idea of columns/beams being somewhat like a tree for certain animals to be on! (such as vertical "tree columns" for bears and horizontal columns for pumas, bobcats, and lynxes.

• poseable taxidermy is kind of like rigging a model, only its still
• making your own multimounts would be like setting up a scene; you could choose scenery pieces, your own species to go with it, and you get to pose them. perhaps there'd be a feature that could help u balance a snow leopard on a rock for example by having all paws touch the rock toggle; or smth lol
• community center would have preset stand designs, poses, multimounts, etc. made by fellow hunters
• poseability would have some restrictions such as joints to prevent odd poses, no clipping with animals, and the animal's torso unable to leave the stand's boundaries.
• poseability should apply to all types of taxidermy and stands/mounts.

LODGE
not likely to happen, but maybe a lodge could come with all of this. we have a rustic themed lodge and a 'polished' one if that makes sense. perhaps now we have a different themed lodge! feel free to drop ideas or what you'd want the lodge to be like!
