I recently received a Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine for Christmas and it made me think how cool a M91/30 would be in game possibly in addition to a PU scope? I just think it’s a really cool rifle and seeing as we already have an M1938 carbine in game i don’t think we need an M44 because literally the only difference is the folding bayonet. But a Mosin Nagant with an optional old style scope would be amazing to have! A lot of hunters across the globe use the Mosin Nagant so I personally think its addition is necessary. The picture of the Mosin Nagant that I received is included below as well as a picture of what I would like to see in game. Possibly consider it EW?

I think we need the 91/30 with the bent bolt and PU scope option, but, we also need a buff to 7.62×54R because it's disgustingly underpowered in game
Class 4-8 round imo also yes
I say 4-8 with performance slightly better than the .303 for SP rounds and a new Czech "silver tip" to fulfill the role of the PT bullets
I’d prefer 3-8.
If it becomes a 4-8 then many people wouldn’t use it. I’d use .450BM or .308 at that point
That’s true 3-8 would be really good
I also think 7.62x54R should be questioned on it’s ability to take class 8. I think it’s fine in the 3-7 slot AS LONG AS it gets a new ammo type and buff to existing and future bullets.
I mean in real life it’s a beast (I have pretty large hands) that’s a steel core round btw
It’s a intermediate size round… you could not catch me dead hunting moose or grizzlies with it.
It has more powder than a .308 and the soft point rounds are generally about 20 grains heavier
Irl, 100% agree
In game, it should be something like 10% more powerful than .303 making it (with mild steel core ammo) very much capable for class 8 i reckon
They could do something like what they did with the muzzle loaders different ammo types
The .308 should definitely have a flatter trajectory at longer ranges though I just think the 7.62x54r should hit WAY harder than it does up close
The 7.62x54r definitely needs a buff in game and I think that adding this weapon would be a perfect opportunity to do so and also bring more attention to the otherwise pretty slept on 7.62x54r
imo EW should do an overhaul on ammo as a whole so that different firearms can shoot different loads for their caliber (specified maybe in weight and construction of the bullet) so instead of having, for instance .30-06 Soft Point and Polymer Tip for classes 4-8, we have something like;
125gr SP or PT for classes 2/3-5
160gr SP or PT for classes 4-7
220gr SPRN for classes 5-8
Then apply that concept across the board to all firearms in game and you have a serious QOL update
