All of that to still not get polar bears or muskox would be such a f’n let down

I honestly can’t see it being anything other than a full on Arctic map.

I hope it’s better than whiterime

summer plinth

Oh ofc, I love Whiterime but I'm sure they'd figure out ways to really make her amazing

earnest plinth

Personally hoping for something closer to nunavut canada

summer plinth
#

Definitely, but unfortunately I don't think that's what we are getting

earnest plinth
#

What makes you think that

summer plinth
#

If the the new map had the animals on the poll, then Pronghorn is very limiting :/

earnest plinth
#

Thats very valid point but just because its on the poll doesn’t outright mean the next maps gonna have it. Im gonna stay cautiously optimistic

summer plinth
#

I dunno, seems odd they'd have it on there if it wasn't relevant :/

Its a good point i just wanna remain hopeful that the pure arctic map dream isn’t dead

summer plinth

I'm thinking it'll be Arctic/Subarctic in nature, like Whiterime

I'm thinking if it's on the polls we aren't getting them on a new map in June. why waste time revisiting an animal at the end of the year? Could be wrong though

summer plinth

Yeah exactly

If we get a Canada map, something similar to this list below is what I'm personally hoping for.

I left out Gray wolf, Mule deer and Bighorn sheep, because they were on the list of more fur types at the end of next year. I doubt any of these will be on the next map if it ends up being Canada. It would make sense to add the furs to the new map if they were on there. It would waste time going back and revisting the same animal.

Stone Sheep - New
Kermode Bear- New- very low population
Grizzly Bear - reworked
Wood Bison - New
Blacktail Deer - west- reworked
Rossevelt Elk - west - reworked
Rocky Mountain Elk - east
American Badger - New or Beaver- New
Wolverine - new
Fisher Cat - New
Wood Duck - New
Snow Goose - New
Sandhill Crane - New
Ruffed Grouse - New
Mountain lion - rework- possible stalking animation
Coyote- Reworked
Mt Caribou rework, but they may not make it because they are on the list for end of next year. Although they are losing so it's possible or they may save it for later with a G1

summer plinth
#

I don't think they'd put Rosies and RME on the same map

simple shale
#

Would be nice though. They both have home ranges in BC and both need love 😂. We also need that hybrid G1

summer plinth
#

They do but I'd rather leave them to keep their maps unique + add Tule Elk with #1316459413682389102

What a Canadian map could do with Elk is add Manitoban Elk, though.

I'll take as many Elk maps as they want to throw at us 😂 The Rossevelt is my favorite though. Their antlers are just more unique.

Polar Bears will be amazing when they come to the game. Can't wait! Don't much care about the Seals and Walrus but I'd probably hunt them for a little while. I would mainly focus on the bears and other species.

The polls could be for the next update this coming spring and we could still be getting the Arctic Reserve this summer

So I am looking through this and here is what I have to say

With regards to the species list for the Canadian Reserve

  • The only place a person would be able to find caribou and pronghorn living in close proximity to each other is a zoo, and the same can be said of wood bison and pronghorn
  • There are also way too many returning species, when the last 2 Reserves (Salzwiesen Park does not count due to its smaller size) have over half of the species being brand new to the game in some shape or form

As for the rest

  • Backfills are for species that are already present in the game, meaning that Dall's Sheep cannot be a backfill unless a brand new reserve comes with it ( #1070045518002147458 would be a good place to get Dall's Sheep from) meaning that the only viable backfills currently in the game are: Black Bear, Coyote, Willow Ptarmigan, Rock Ptarmigan and some duck species like Green-winged Teal or Goldeneye

Definitely! Dall sheep has a really small range in BC.

# brave delta Second half of 2025 indicates either a fall or winter update

The second half of 2025 begins when summer practically begins, and the summer update always comes out at the end of June, so it could be possible that they release it by then. If it were for winter they would say that it would be released by the end of the year, but instead they have put it in the second half, so the options we have left are for autumn or summer and I would bet on summer.

brave delta
# random wadi This is pure speculation, I did it based on the species in the surveys and since...

Again, that species list has too many returning species. The list is 75% returning species, which for a regular reserve is a bit too many when compared to Sundarpatan (76% of the species are new) and Emerald Coast (56% are new) or even Revontouli, though not as bad as New England Mountains. In defense of NEM it came with a massive update that included multiple backfills, though I doubt a Canadian Reserve would be subject to having a species list consisting of over 70% being returning species unless it was a map like Salzwiesen Park as British Columbia and the Northwest Territories of Canada have a wide plethora of species that have not come to the game yet.

Also for your second point (I am not waiting for the timer): They could still release a Canadian Arctic Reserve and still give the Mule Deer their antler update without putting them on the Arctic Reserve, and there is precedence for this as Salzwiesen Park came out and despite not appearing at all on that map the Cinnamon Teal still got an update

Keep in mind that whenever EW changes or improves something that is already in the game and has not been added to its new content, it is because it is related to the new content, always keep that in mind.

They never improve or change any type of content if it is not related at all to the new content, for example: the gray wolf will get more fur variants and will surely get a remodel, then the mule deer will get more antler variants and will surely get a remodel too, you can only think that when they release these improvements it is because they will be in a new map or have some relation to the content of a future update.

brave delta
# random wadi You're right, but this idea is based on Alberta, Canada, and the cinnamon teal t...

Being set in Alberta does not change my criticisms, for one Wood Bison don't live in the same part of Alberta as Pronghorns and I would exclude Caribou on the basis of them being endangered in Alberta and the fact that some more small game species and bird species could be included in the place of the Caribou, heck even Wild Boar would be a more suitable inclusion for an Alberta Reserve then Caribou (Yes we have a lot of free roaming wild boar in Alberta, not as bad as Saskatchewan or Texas but they are there)

I should also mention that Alberta is well known for its goose hunting as it is for its big game hunting with Canada, Cackling, Snow, Ross and Greater White-fronted Goose all flying through the province

And as far as upland hunting goes, we have ruffed, spruce, dusky and sharp-tailed grouse (depending on where you go) alongside grey partridge and pheasant and if you go high enough in the mountains you can also find white-tailed ptarmigan

I would scrap the wood bison, pronghorn and caribou in favour of some more birds plus some marmots and ground squirrels

#

If you insist on having some sort of large bovine on an Alberta Reserve, there is a herd of Plains Bison in Banff National Park that is expected to grow in numbers and eventually end up on provincial land outside Banff, which will lead to a hunt with limited tags. At the time of writing the only hunt conducted for the herd in Banff was 8 bison hunted by hunters representing 8 First Nations and Metis groups (One Bison for each First Nations/Metis Group)

Definitely

Now the fur variants of the gray wolf and the antler variants of the mule deer are related to the new content and will most likely be found on the summer 2025 map like the other species in the surveys and if not So surely it will have some kind of relationship with the new content.

brave delta
# random wadi The only thing we know for sure is that the animals they mentioned in the survey...

Yeah I am not sure where you are getting the idea that the next reserve is set in Alberta, and again people really enjoy having new Big Game Animals to hunt, something I will say Alberta cannot provide, it is more suitable as either a simpler reserve with a lot of returning species that is released alongside a massive update or as a waterfowl and upland centric reserve that happens to have elk and mule deer on it. The only areas in Canada that have the potential for new Big Game animals are British Columbia and the Territories (Northwest Territories & Nunavut, I am exlcuding the Yukon Territory since it might be a bit too similar to Yukon Valley, Alaska)

granite saddle
brave delta
#

While I think it would be neat to see my home province in the game, I would much rather see a reserve set in the Northwest Territories/Nunavut or British Columbia since the potential for new Big Game Species in those parts of Canada are just too good to pass up and I have been wanting a map with polar bears in this game for years
