Arkansas - small game hunting park

Arkansas is known as the world capital of waterfowl hunting, immense amounts of ducks and geese can be found along this maps coast of the mighty Mississippi river and on all the flooded timber, corn plantations and rice fields, but also some other animals like quail and raccoon thrive there.

the north with his rolling hills has a higher amount of furbearers and upland birds like opossums and the ruffed grouse.

Some of the many potential species include

Of course you couldn't do all of those but it's just a range of species that would make sense and be interesting at the same time.

Ruffed grouse would be only found in the wooded hills it could be backfilled to NEM among others

Rares: leucistic, hybrid

Bobwhite quail would be found mostly on öppen meadows and in agricultural land but I would also enjoy some new rares for them

Cinnamon Teal are not commonly found in Arkansas, if you want another small duck species look into ruddy ducks. They are about the size of a teal yet they are divers and the males have a blue bill.

Oops, I add ruddy ducks, of course I know them they are so adorable but I think they'd be a totally new hunt with more a stalk tech rather then with decoys

They can come into decoys too but they definitely aren’t a common sight.

I'd love them just sit on the water so you have to stalk them and shoot them before they dive away a similar hunt like for beavers and more true to lake duck hunting as far as I've seen

Most diving ducks decoy pretty well from what I have seen. I have not much experience diver duck hunting but blue bills will come into diver decoys pretty quickly and reliably. My dad taught me a trick to make most divers decoy is to make a long line that kinda bows off a point and they will come along that line and into the rest of your decoys.

Diver ducks yeah but ruddy ducks aren't neccesarryly a diver. they are something called a lake duck. which also dives but behaves differently, they fly way less and are typically shot while sitting on the water, at greater distances.

Interesting, I’m just going off personal experience and from what my father’s has told me. He had one come in to his decoy spread so I would assume they would. However after looking into it most are shot jump shooting so it would be cool if they have a rare chance to decoy.
