Just downloaded the update and now get error code trying to start, I already reset twice

Hello, one of my mates is having an issues of joining people and his game is saying that he is running the wrong version how can we fix this, it says that is has the dev commond panal, is there a way that we can fix this, if u would like to contact him his at is @tough matrix . PC xbox gamepass.

Todays update broke the game. Can't start it. Reverts back to xbox landing screen. No error messege. xbox series x.
