Iceland would be perfect for a mini map, it's hosting a variety of small game while only having one big game species, many species are hunted in Iceland that are not common to hunt else whee which would introduce unique opportunitys. Without big game an iconic Icelandic landscape would be possible! Let's get to the species that could be featured on such a park.

Waterfowl:

  • barnacle goose
  • pink footed goose
  • harlequin duck
  • barrows goldeneye
  • greater scaup
  • tufted duck
  • common eider
  • king eider
  • long tailed duck
  • Eurasian teal

Sea birds

  • Atlantic puffin
  • razorbill
  • black guillemot
  • northern fulmar
  • European Shaq

Others

  • rock ptarmigan
  • American mink
  • Arctic fox
  • mountain hare
#

The map would feature two long stretches of Sea coast a few minor lakes and swamps in the tundra as well as a large lake coast on the west

#

Kind of like this (minor body's of water not shown)

#

Lake shore of Lake myvatn the lake on the map would be were most ducks where found, harlequin duck, greater scaup, barrows goldeneye and tufted duck would all be found here

#

These swamps in the tundra would be home to the geese and teal of this park

#

These coast would be home to all the sea birds including eiders and long tailed ducks

#

Although barren the tundra hosts some animals still, mink, hare ptarmigan and Arctic fox all reside here the Arctic swamps biome is also found many times with in the greater tundra making up most of the map itself

#

Although most of the map is barren there are some minor forests within it these host no special species but have high populations of mink and hare

#

The barnacle goose is found throughout the entire map in relatively high populations, it is related to the brant, Canadian and cackling geese of the branta genus. (I
Took the pic btw)

#

The pink footed goose is numerous all over the inland of Lundavatn park and closely related to the tundra bean goose already featured on 2 other maps. I featured a photo of a common, leucistic and one where they can be seen In a flock together with barnacle geese in their natural habitat

#

The harlequin duck is already found in-game but it could use a small rework

It's habitat consists mainly of the Northwestern freshwater waterways

#

The barrows goldeneye is similar to the common Goldeneye only having a few differences but it still is an Iconic species.

It is found in the large Lundavatn lake as well as in close by streams

#

The common eider (first picture by me) is found Along the entire coast besides the offshore island

#

The king island is only found on the northeastern coast, it has relatively low numbers and is a priced trophy of the lundavatn coast, the first picture shows a breeding male, the second an eclipse, the third a group and the fourth a leucistic hen

#

The long tailed duck is a small diving sea duck found on the southern and central coasts as well as a small population on lake Lundavatn

The pictures in this order: Non breeding male, non breeding female, breeding male, breeding female

#

The Eurasian teal would be found in the swamps and ponds of the tundra while tufted ducks would exclusively reside at the big lake Lundavatn, their models are fine they do not need no rework

#

Puffins are found in small numbers all along the coast as well as big numbers on the bird island
Breeding (common) , non breeding (eclipse), leucistic

proven wolf
#

The rozorbill is similar to many other sea birds but exclusively found on the bird island

Picture one breeding, picture two eclipse

#

The black guillemot is common along the southern coast and bird island, it can usually be spotted in groups

#

The northern fulmar is found in the northern part of the map and on the offshore bird island, it is usually found alone and displays both a light and a dark morph.

#

The European Shaq is found in small numbers all along the coast it can be commonly observed spreading it's wings to dry them from water

#

The rock ptarmigan would be found all over the tundra parts of the map. It would be identical with the ones on revontuli

#

American mink are found in high numbers all over the mainland and are highly invasive it is encouraged to shoot as many of these critters as possible

#

The Arctic fox would be an species found in medium numbers all over the mainland, the common variation would be it's summer coat but you could optain a white winter coat as a rare

#

The European rabbit could have a few burrows on the bird island as an introduced species as it is an introduced species in Iceland.

#

The mountain hare would be just like it is already with no changes and be found in the tundra of the mainland

#

Some natural landmarks could be these pillars, natural hot springs and a volcanic basalt beach

I drew a slightly better map

Very great

#

First of all, this thread is how I learn that mountain hare have been introduced to a few different islands

Secondly, I like the species list, sure there is no reindeer but that is perfectly fine given the abundance of waterfowl and huntable seabirds (plus Iceland seems to be better known for bird hunting anyways, which makes the species list even better)

One minor thing: You spelt European Shag as European Shaq

#

the geese that are most hunted here is the greylag and the pink footed

#

Puffins and their seabird relatives, Black Guillemot, Common Guillemot and Razorbill. 3 goose species, Greylag, Pinkfoot and Barnacle geese.

These are the only birds that can be legally hunted here

#

the ptarmigan only has a week to a few weeks depending on the flock size which is increasing drasticly due to the bird flu killing our hawks or whatever
