#Fixing and improving Multiplayer (realistic edition)

There have been many posts about fixing multiplayer in COTW, and they often say things like:
"Fix timeout issues!"
"Make the game crossplay!"

While these are relatable suggestions, we need to be a bit more realistic and fair to EW. The game also uses a peer-to-peer system (where other players connect directly to the host), and improving stability on this system might be too complicated—especially since peer-to-peer is rarely used in modern games

Here’s an ideas that I think could potentially work:
⚠️ 1) Timeout Warning
Add a visible indicator when a player's connection is interrupted. Instead of immediately disconnecting them due to de-sync, give the client a 15–30 second window to attempt reconnection to the host. You can see an example of this in the 1st screenshot
(This feature could be optional in the settings)

📰 2) Show Ping to Host in Server List
It's frustrating to join a server listed as having a moderate distance, only to discover I have 130ms ping to the host. Adding a visible ping number in the server list could help players avoid this issue. Concept is in the 2nd screenshot

z_missionhint 3) Adding new multiplayer challenges
This is a long forgotten feature that could really use some attention. New challenges could include tasks like: "Shoot X and Y in the air" or "Shoot X with iron sights."
The possibilities are nearly endless, and adding fresh challenges could bring more hunters to try them on their own multiplayer sessions

I know this isn’t a flashy or content-heavy post, so I don’t expect it to get a lot of attention. But for those who’ve read this far, what do you think? Do you have any other ideas to improve multiplayer (constructive ideas)? foxBlush

Good suggestions. Also, punish serial kickers.

How about banning people temporarily in the sessions? That could be cool. All the bans would then lift when you disband the multiplayer server
