#Roe Deer / Reeve's Muntjac on Salzweisen Park (Let Me Explain)

Salzweisen is a pretty fun map if I'm going to be honest, I've always been a deer or big game hunter. But bird hunting has grown on me. However I think Roe Deer are the perfect deer, or Reeve's Muntjac could be a possibility as well. I just think it the Roe Deer need another map and they wouldn't have to be everywhere, maybe only on the eastern side. And a low population at that 10 - 20 on the whole map, half that if there are Muntkac on the map as well.

Salzweisen just needs a small deer species in my opinion. As Roe Deer are a tiny deer species and going in line with small game on this map I think it would be nice. As well as a remodel for the Roe Deer. They need some love.

Either or sound fun

There is another potential big game animal that I don't think people even know about: Greater Rhea. I can explain

There is a small population of over 500 Greater Rhea (also called Nandu) in Schleswig-Holstein, which is where Salzwiesen Park is set (The population originates from a farm escape in the year 2000)

They have allowed the hunting of these birds back in 2018

They could have a limited population on the map as Class 3 or 4 species

#

And while I do enjoy blasting foxes, raccoons, tanuki (raccon dogs), pheasants and grouse on Salzwiesen Park and don't mind the fact that nothing on that map is bigger then Class 2, I do think it would be interesting to see a small population of roe deer and rhea on the map (so I can justify bringing something like a 243 rifle on the map because at the moment I am only using the 22 Hornet for geese and class 2 animals)

#

also here is a picture of the Nandu for reference

Yeah id love to see it but roe deers more likely

Or sika deer Schleswig-Holstein has the biggist sika Population in germany

But roe deer would fit the best its small game map and in germany roe deer is counted as small game

I did hear people suggest sika deer for Salzwiesen, and now I know that the justification for their inclusion is similar to the reason I suggested greater rhea, I think those two species alongside roe deer would be fine inclusions, provided that they have limited populations (easily done with the rhea since their irl population is only between 500 and 600 adult birds irl)

I honestly think we should keep Salzweisen the way it is, I love it. I like the idea of a small game only map and they exist IRL, by basically removing other animals like deer, and we have been needing one for a while.

Muntjac aren’t in Germany

Although roe deer should 💯 percent be on Salzweisen Park

This will never happen, for the simple fact that it is a map dedicated to small game hunting and the size of the map is approximately 1/4 of a normal map and these species are big game.

But it is true that they could add another lowland bird such as the common quail or another vermin such as the European badger.

I want to hunt birds of the genus Corvids.

I want to hunt the great bustard. I know that Germany has a fairly satisfactory and increasing population even if I admit it's not on this side if Germany but hey we can dream

Despite its size, the Nandu is class 2, in Argentina a .22 rifle or buckshot cartridges are used to hunt them, they are quite fragile.
The shape of the SP map is perfect for the species, they are the same biomes that it natively inhabits in South America.

@upbeat steppe @gray ingot I'm not saying the Roe Deer/Muntjac would be all over the place, there would be a few on the whole map for something else, and I think (in my opinion) Roe Deer are small enough the be on the map

Here, I help you add a list of invasive species in Germany, recorded by FACE (European Federation for Hunting and Conservation). Some of these species are found in Salzwiesen Park.

I'm up for adding a small deer to SP, gives people who don't care for bird hunting a reason to get the map. I was excited for the shotgun but I don't want to pay 7$ for a single gun

Everyone knows that the European roe deer belongs to class 3, and it is undeniable that it is traditionally considered a big game species. For this reason, the European roe deer is excluded from the list of potential species for Salzwiesen Park. As you mentioned, Salzwiesen Park primarily features class 1 and 2 species, or “small game” species.

The Reeve’s muntjac is the appropriate candidate, despite the fact that very few of them can be seen on the map. Additionally, a couple of muntjacs have been spotted in the exact region that inspired Salzwiesen Park. I find it reasonable for the Reeve’s muntjac to belong to class 2 since it weighs between 12 and 17 kg (the Northern red muntjac from Sundarpatan weighs 14-18 kg and also belongs to class 2).

As I mentioned, the muntjac is not considered small game because the term muntjac encompasses different species (as is the case with deer) of various sizes, ranging from the leaf muntjac (12 kg) to the giant muntjac (30-50 kg, compared to the European roe deer, which weighs 27 kg). This is my argument for why the muntjac is not small game.

Considering that a model for the Reeve’s muntjac would need to be created, I highly doubt that the developers would do it—unless they plan to create a new map set in the United Kingdom or Scotland-England, for example.

It seems that squirrels are not huntable in Germany unless they are an invasive species, such as the Siberian chipmunk.🐿️ The most interesting thing is that in Germany, the common marten, the stone marten, the ferret, the ermine, the weasel, American mink and the European badger are huntable. Hirschfelden Hunting Reserve is an excellent place for backfilling these species, as it is inspired by the country of Germany. Some will fit better in this map, while others will be better in Salzwiesen Park or both maps.

there is also the Tatra Chamois and the European Elk in the Black Forest map although I have never heard of them in this area and there is a map with the Carpathian bison which has disappeared apart from the hybrid version

Hunting Simulator 2 has a more sensible caliber list for roe deer than CotW you can use basically anything that's not a.223, and I really wish that was the case here. roe deer are my favorite animal below class six and I'd love more places/ways to hunt them

salzweisen was literally designed to be a small game map only ie birds and rabbits etc. it is a compact map so having large animals would not work

random storm
#

A handful of roe deer spawns would hurt absolutely nothing, what would they even have to take away from to make room? Ten or twelve individual ducks from each species? I doubt adding roe and even sika would affect very much outside adding two small sized deer species to chase

Bump, variety is best no matter what kind of map it is
