I shot a diamond moose and went to put it in my lodge and it doesn’t appear on the plaque.

They have to have come from Layton or Hirsch in that Lodge, check that.
Although, I don't think they show at all if they didn't, so not sure.

Did you try to replace a moose already on the plaque with your Diamond? If so, it's probably due to this known issue: "If you replace an existing trophy on a stand [or plaque], the new one won’t show up until you restart the game. However, if you swap the invisible trophy with a different one, the freshly replaced trophy will be visible."
The moose should appear there if you restart the game. If you want to force it to appear, try 1st placing another moose there (which will not be visible), and then place the one you want (which should show). I had this happen with other animals in other lodges.

Hmm, I thought the Layton Lodge had to be from the 2 base maps.
The animals can come from any reserve provided that they are also found on Hirschfelden or Layton. So you could, for example, use a moose from Medved. The big central plinth, however, can take any animal from any reserve (e.g., a lion)
