The new 7.62x35/.300 blackout rifle should not be introduced as class 3-6 and should instead be class 2-6 or 2-5. .300 blackout is very ballistically similar to the 30-30. The 30-30 is class 2-6 so why wouldn’t .300 blackout be? (I provided ballistic chart data for both 30-30 and .300 blackout when shooting a 150gr projectile) In real life .300 blackout is perfect for animals that are class 2 in game like foxes and raccoons. I have personally shot raccoons and other similar sized varmints with it and it does perfect without being overkill.

The online ammo comparison sites I checked are telling me that the .300 Blackout is less powerful than the .243. (Correct me if this is wrong, please.) So I'm of the same opinion as OP: the .300 Blackout should cover class 2 in game.

Yes the 243 carries more energy than the .300 blackout. Really only disadvantages .243 has is smaller diameter bullet and a projectile that is more likely to fragment and get caught in bone. Extra mass helps .300 blk achieve enough penetration for big game even though its energy is comparable to 5.56.

yeah I agree, it should be 2-6

Agreed, there are currently so many class 2 animals in the game that being class 3-6 really hurts the .300 blk. It doesn't really compete with any rifle atm.
