The Alps are one of the highest and most extensive mountain ranges in Europe.
I truly think a map focused in the middle of the alps will be a good idea.

Class 1:
-Black grouse
-western capercaillie
-Rock Ptarmigan
-alpine marmot (new)
-European hare
-mountain hare
-Mallard

Class 2:
-Red Fox

Class 3:
-Eurasian Lynx
-Roe Deer
-Chamois

Class 4:
-Fallow Deer
-Alpine ibex (new)

Class 5:
-Wild Boar

Class 6:
-Red Deer
-Gray Wolf

Class 7:
-Eurasian Brown Bear

Alpine ibex should be 4

I think this would be good, but we would need way more new species unless this comes as a smaller end of year map

There is the capercaillie of the Major subspecies, as well as the rock partridge, the common raven and otherwise not much apart from repetitions for the big critters. I am in the Innsbruck Alpine Zoo which shows all the animals you see in the Alps, it says that apparently there are moose but for me it has been tens of thousands of years that have disappeared (at least on the side of my country where the Alps cross).

There are also subspecies of fox and linx, you should check that side.

Itd be cool if this map was in one of the various culturally mixed areas of the alps, where 2 or more different cultures meet.
For example switzerland, in the north its mixed with germany, in the east with austria, in the west with france and in the south with italy.
Or for example South Tyrol in Italy, where italian and german meet.
Or another location could be Valle d'Aosta, also in Italy but where Italian and French meet instead.

Hello Anna!

The idea of an Alps map sounds fantastic, especially with such a variety of species you’ve outlined. It would be a great addition to the game, offering a unique setting with diverse wildlife like the alpine ibex and European hare. I see the suggestion about incorporating more new species, and I agree that balancing the number of species is important to keep the experience fresh without overwhelming the map.

The cultural mix concept, like in Switzerland or South Tyrol, is a neat touch! It could give the map a more dynamic feel, not just in terms of wildlife but also in terms of terrain and environment. I'll be sure to pass this suggestion along to the rest of the team for consideration.
