While rocky mountain elk only live in southwestern Virginia, they actually have multiple suitable habitable areas that were proposed for them to be reintroduced to. The area I plan for elk to be in is the "Big Meadows" area which is very near where the rest of the map would be(central VA and the chesapeake bay)

#

As for Sika deer, they were introduced to the Delmarva peninsula way back when and have lived there since, covering more and more land. The part of the map is going to be based on the yellow/green area which will only be accessible by a bridge and boat, much like the island in the south of Revontuli. This will cover the entire left side of the map and provide a good size range for sika deer and the numerous waterfowl

#

I intend this to be more of North American small game map. Basically a mix of the new Salzwiesen and Revontuli as it still has some big game such as Elk which me and tons of other people would like another map of.

hell yes, anything with swan and merganser has my vote

I want this map to also promote the reintroduction of elk into places where the entire population was wiped out. The elk reintroduction in southwestern virginia has been very well so far and has already produced a giant 413" non typical elk. I hope elk get reintroduced into the other areas in blue that i have shown. The only reason they haven't been brought over to other areas is that while they are biologically suitable to live there, they aren't sociologically.

Isn't there also Manitoban elk? It'll be cool to have another elk species, and I never knew Sika were in Virginia

Anyways more about the map itself. The central virginia(piedmont region) area is similar to the fields in Hirschfelden or Cuatro Colinas, where you can wander around and find lots of animals feeding. These fields provide perfect conditions for hunting doves, pigeons, and the small game like ground hogs and opossums.

#

Also with opossums i'd like to see them have rest zones in the trees, as I commonly see them hanging up there. Would work well with how squirrels would work too

What were you thinking weapon wise?

Personally I’d really like to see one of this if EW ever wants to revisit Appalachia;

Savage 220/212, a slug gun

(3-8)

Modern .30-30 (would entail a major rework to the cartridge)

(3-7)

Classic .35 Whelen

(4-8 /w heavy emphasis on 6-8)

Classic .22/.17HMR Lever Action

(1-2)

Umarex Origin .22 PCP airgun

(1-2)

I really want a .17hmr lever gun, would be a perfect in between for the .22h and the virant .22

Hello bebal!

This Virginia map idea sounds incredible! With a mix of diverse landscapes, wildlife, and the focus on small game, it would definitely offer something fresh for players. The addition of species like the Rocky Mountain Elk, Sika Deer, and new small game options like the Virginia Opossum and Ruffed Grouse would certainly enrich the hunting experience.

The concept of promoting reintroduction efforts, like the elk in southwestern Virginia, adds a nice touch of realism to the map too. I can see the appeal for players who enjoy hunting in both open fields and more wooded, mountainous areas. Plus, having small game like squirrels and pigeons alongside larger species really opens up a lot of hunting opportunities.

I’ll be sure to pass this idea along to the rest of the team! If you have more ideas to share, please feel free to reach out via our support portal: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

For this map it would be fitting to add the Chesapeake bay retriever as a reskin of the golden retriever, similar to how reserves come with guns

With northern shovellers and blue winged teal being added, a hybrid plumage type would be an awesome rare. This is a hybrid between all 3 blue wing duck species(northern shoveller, cinnamon teal, and blue wing teal).

I feel like some places have unique enough species to justify a map
And its not like the US is a highly hunted country compared to the rest to the world
Imo the location doesn't matter it could literally be anywhere im always for the species and the environment of the map no matter where it is

I just primarily want a NA revontuli. So I did what I could and made one for my own state.

#

Other states would definitely be better for upland birds tho.
