I and many others need an inbetween the 7mm and upcoming .375. I for one am tired of using the .300 Canning and would like to switch it up

What I’d like to see

• Malmer/Olsson reload animations

(chefs kiss)

• Good, deep sound

(As of November 28th the .375 sounds…. Weird to say the least)

• Class 6-9

(I really just want a middle ground between the 7mm and .375 that isn’t .300WM)

• Weigh around 4ish units

(It’s about how much the 45-70 and .300 weigh making it fit nicely into most people’s loadouts)

Hello ayoliam!

Thank you for your detailed suggestion regarding the .338WM! It’s great to see that players like yourself are passionate about having a solid middle ground between the 7mm and .375. We definitely understand the desire for a new, versatile rifle that can handle Class 6-9 animals without resorting to the .300WM.

I’ll be sure to pass this feedback along to the rest of the team, especially the points about the reload animations, deep sound, and the weight of the rifle. It’s always exciting to see such thorough and thoughtful suggestions.

Ah, got ya. Thought this was a .300CM/FE thing

Well we already have two .338s in game. It would make more sense to just make the ammo 6-9 and reduce the weight of the bolt action one

Yeah, if we had a .338 option with more than one round and not the tsurugi I could happily forget the tsurugi exists

One decent rifle and I'll choose .338 over .300 every single time

Man until the AW came out I assumed the single shot .338 was a win mag

I'd like a traditional bolt 338 with the internal box mag just like the 375, 308, & 7mm. I'd be more inclined to use it more. The Tsurgi as much as like it IRL its too wonky n large gameplay wise where I feel like I carrying a rifle meant for F-Class bench shoots.

# dusky zephyr They did separate .300s so hopefully they'll consider this

Then again big difference between 300 blk and win mag. There’s quite the difference between the lapua and win mag 338s too but in reality you’re going to hunt the same stuff with them. The in game “lapua” already feels like a win mag as I’ve previously noted. Correct me if I’m wrong but when Jaxy showed off the bolt 338 he did call it a lapua right?

I do remember him saying it was based on a Lapua competition rifle (poor choice)

But, that said, defining a clear difference between. 338s wouldn't be hard either. Let's say they do a .338 Federal model, .33 Short Magnum wouldn't be too weird to understand

.338 WM is easily switched over to .338 CM which is just the big brother of the .300.

Might actually prefer them to go the Federal route, it could be a 6-9

I'll see if I can find which stream when he mentioned it.

The .338 Federal I've got the most experience with is my neighbors go to deer gun. He uses it for everything from whitetail to elk and bear. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it was one of the 4-9 rifles and did a little better than the 7mm on 9s

B4 I get bashed by folks 7mm is 9 bc of bison & I get that but its like C:6 with wolves. Its 1 game being placed oddly to justify the class up, wheres its great for that 1 but horrible for the rest of the class when other calibers do it better.

But honestly with it coming on 9yrs in 2025 with no PvP to speak of it makes no sense to keep "Balance" with weapons being locked to specific class ranges. Bk when the game released it made sense having limited options. But at this point with loads of options (& more on the way), calibers should either have Hudzik (2 class range(3-7/4-8) ) ammo options or full authentic game expansion range for all calibers ex. Bow (1-9), Shotgun (1-7/1-8/1-9), 454 (4-9), 45-70 (4-9), 577 (4-9). Ppl are so worried about balance & difficulty & all I can say is "what do you mean?!" Game have difficulty lvl 1: Trivial - 10 G1! Our weapons perform differently as they should and some are better than others. But our calibers shouldn't be a "(difficulty factor)" but an extension of our equipment/preference of choice. Choosing the correct ammo should be the factor as it relates to actual hunting practices. If were stuck with a single class range, then calibers should be expanded to the authentic game ranges they are rated for IRL. All it changes is caliber's authentic range & expands players hunting opportunity as a whole. Each weapon has different stats but this should have no effect on the calibers game class range. Who cares if you use 1 or 5 weapons play how you want to "to ea. their own ofc" but we authentic guys are going stir crazy bc we actually use them IRL 🤣 And honestly the easiest fix EW could do to clarify & justify the caliber class locks is simply apply the g/gr weight they referenced to confirm authenticity.
