#Make reloading work normally on ranges

A firing range isn't just useful for practicing shot placement, it's also for getting used to how the gun operates. We lose that when the weapons magically reload at ranges. I want to see what the chambering looks like, how long it lasts, and build an instinct for how long until I need to reload with a particular gun.

In the stream today Jaxy confirmed that the skeet/trap range works the same as the one on Hirsch, going so far as to point out that it means all shotguns will operate like a semi auto. That's a downside to me, and takes away options from the community-generated competitions the devs seem keen to encourage. There's no point in players mixing it up with the style of shotgun they're competing with if they all work the same on the range.

At the very least please add another button at the ranges that toggles it.

As long as we get to have infinite ammo on the ranges I see no issue with this change, having reload animations play on a shooting range would feel more immersive for a lot of people afterall

I suppose that a simple change of numbers would fix the problem, instead of having Infinity/Infinity (Infinite ammo in Mag / Infinite ammo in inventory) they should only put X/Infinity (X normal amount of ammo in Mag / Infinite ammo in Inventory).
That should get the reload action working again.

Hello DoofusMagnus,

Thank you for your detailed suggestion! We completely understand your perspective—having a more authentic experience with reload animations and weapon operation at the ranges would definitely add immersion. It’s important to not only practice shot placement but also get a feel for how the guns function, which is something players could miss out on with the current reload behavior.

I’ll pass your feedback along to the rest of the team, and I agree that a toggle for reloading at ranges would be a great solution. It's something we can explore to ensure players get a more true-to-life experience while practicing.
