Since there will be black grouse in Salzwiesen Park, I suggest proposing the addition of a black grouse decoy.

the very first and only time I saw black grouse was in Finland perched on a tree there were about ten of them but yes it is true that when I look at photos there are a lot of them surd es tree trunks or on trees.

Hunt Black Grouse and Capercaillie from the treetops at relatively long distances; this practice is called "latvalinnustus" in Finnish, with the closest translation being "treetop birding."

We have this here as well it's called "topjakt"which means something along the lines of treetop hunting.

Cool I love åland but have never visited the mainland mostly because they speak Finnish and that language deeply confuses me, also I have a Finnish street sign on my wall it says "suljettu kävijöiltä"

I would like the fighting behavior to be added to these mentioned birds when they are between the two, as shown in the photo.

“Lek” is an English term that refers to a specific area where certain animals, particularly birds, gather for courtship displays during the mating season.

The word lek is actually used in Swedish and means something like "play" both with kids playing as with birds "playing"

I'm looking forward to hopefully Beeing present at a lek this winter, btw they're lekking sounds are epic!

They have this behavioral mechanism of Capercaillie Fighting, and they can perfectly incorporate it into the Capercaillie of COTW, I think. And furthermore, with the introduction of wildlife photography challenges, this would truly be worth it. Imagine a photography challenge focused on the lek of these species; it would be amazing to see the photos taken.

It is believed to be a hybrid between a Western capercaillie and a hazel grouse. 🤔
