Since there will be black grouse in Salzwiesen Park, I suggest proposing the addition of a black grouse decoy.

Black Grouse Callers
I want the black grouse and other birds, such as capercaillies, to be able to perch on the top of a fir tree, as shown in the photos.
Hazel Grouse
the very first and only time I saw black grouse was in Finland perched on a tree there were about ten of them but yes it is true that when I look at photos there are a lot of them surd es tree trunks or on trees.

So good loocking bird
(these things are crazy)
black-billed capercaillie (Siberia)
oh wait sorry didnt completly read the message ...
Not problem. I corrected the sentence to make it clearer; the two hybrid birds look a bit different.
Hunt Black Grouse and Capercaillie from the treetops at relatively long distances; this practice is called "latvalinnustus" in Finnish, with the closest translation being "treetop birding."
Absolutely needed! I made this post once and abandoned it and I'm so happy to see somebody have the same wants!
We have this here as well it's called "topjakt"which means something along the lines of treetop hunting.
I didn’t know this word, I searched on the internet and it turns out it’s a Norwegian term. The word above comes from Finland.
Yeah in Sweden yo
Where you live?
Cool I love åland but have never visited the mainland mostly because they speak Finnish and that language deeply confuses me, also I have a Finnish street sign on my wall it says "suljettu kävijöiltä"
I would like the fighting behavior to be added to these mentioned birds when they are between the two, as shown in the photo.
“Lek” is an English term that refers to a specific area where certain animals, particularly birds, gather for courtship displays during the mating season.
The word lek is actually used in Swedish and means something like "play" both with kids playing as with birds "playing"
I'm looking forward to hopefully Beeing present at a lek this winter, btw they're lekking sounds are epic!

They have this behavioral mechanism of Capercaillie Fighting, and they can perfectly incorporate it into the Capercaillie of COTW, I think. And furthermore, with the introduction of wildlife photography challenges, this would truly be worth it. Imagine a photography challenge focused on the lek of these species; it would be amazing to see the photos taken.
Cool! Never been to the north

The audio is kinda funny xD
is this frpm tone oland?
Bump
Rackelhahn would have been a great rare for back grouse or capercaillie… Surprised we didn’t get it.
Yeah, I guess you'd need a new model
Would still be cool
Yeah I actually made a suggestion for that once https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1312052524488069140
It is believed to be a hybrid between a Western capercaillie and a hazel grouse. 🤔
I researched this alot because there is a hybrid Hazel grouse rare in game, did they do and genetic Analysis?
Yes, but I do not have the information on the analysis results
What do you think this hybrid is supposed to be. I think capercaillie x Hazel grouse makes sense
I actually saw a Hazel grouse today, I love them so much
Wow! 😲 I think yes. The photo of the hybrid according to the COTW Companion app.
That's so epic!
I think it is a hybrid Hazel Grouse x Black Grouse.

I thought so to, couldn't find any online, the only grouse I could find online where spruce x ruffed and the classic wood x black
