Note: This reserve is a representation of released birds by hunting clubs &/or private lodges in Wyoming similar to Texas Ranch Reserves. All species are native within the sagebrush sea & the surrounding States that circle Wyoming.

The sagebrush sea ranges between the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada exists a vast legacy of still wild lands: the Sagebrush Sea ecosystem. Large expanses of sagebrush define this ecosystem, distinguishing it from the grasslands of the Great Plains and the hot deserts of the Southwest.

Since Salzwiesen Park is a Small Game Dedicated Reserve, I'd nudge EW to our US Midwestern Upland Game/Birds & Fur Bearer species in-kind set-in Wyoming's Rich Biomes.

Well…. There is one species of waterfowl I’d want to see…

Some of the species listed are very out of place
• Wyoming has less then 20 wolverines in the entire state and would be better introduced on either Medved, Yukon Valley or a Canadian Arctic Reserve
• No Species of Quail is found in Wyoming
• Spruce Grouse are in a similar place to Wolverines being basically nonexistent in Wyoming, meaning Yukon Valley, Layton Lakes or a Canadian Reserve would be more fitting for them

Regarding Prairie Grouse: The Sharp-tailed Grouse is a type of Prairie Grouse, so I’m not sure why you have “Prairie Grouse” listed separately

Some other species that do live in Wyoming
• Mourning Dove
• Wilson’s Snipe
• Sora
• Virginia Rail
• American Crow
• Merriam’s Turkey

I think a small population of Mule Deer would be nice, 10 males, 10 females.

Also the sagebrush sea covers 85% of the midwest. So the reserve is divided into northern & southern biomes were all these animals thrive in.

Just to let you know, Wyoming has wolves. I see packs of 3 pretty often here and they were declared a predator in the game laws (no limits/license needed) in most of the state. Not particularly large wolves but annoyingly loud ones.

Also, porcupines would be a really cool add as long as they are typically lone animals and sometimes spotted in trees. Seriously, if you lose a track look up cuz it's probably at the top of the tree stripping bark

& bc the community is tired of US reserves this was my solution to finalize our US upland Game by presenting a reserve with 90% of our last remaining upland birds & small game in an actual prarie forest location & now since we have a pointer this reserve would be a blast.

BTW it's not at all uncommon to have birds released by hunting clubs or private lodges, they aren't recognized by the state but we have quite a few partridges near my place.

I keep a .22 revolver loaded with subsonic ammo for them. It's fun and saves meat

and we finally have a pointer puppyLove

I've shot like 40 of these little snacks in the last year or so, two different neighbors breed them a d release them

With Salzwiesen Park coming out it does open up the potential for a couple more US Reserves provided they are more focused on small game and birds

For example Hawaii and Nevada are both excellent locations for an Upland Focused Reserve due to species variety

I'd be more annoyed if they didn't taste so good

But yea it was an idea I had from a hunt I had as a kid yrs back and now since SP is coming I wanted to present a Midwestern Upland bird & fur bearer reserve bc these guys are long passed due since they dont give our US upland & small game credit. So with the new map coming I'd nudge the idea so we get these guys & its another reserve for the new dog. Plus I want to see prairie dogs and pop them when the peak from mounds.
