There will never be a roe deer or anything, there are only class 1 and 2, that is, small game, and taking into account that there are 10 birds and 5 mammals, we are still missing one mammal and 5 birds. The birds you mentioned could easily be them, but I think the mammal will be the European hare.

Yes, there are European rabbits but there will never be a class 3 or higher animal on this map.

eitherway expect 1-3 class game bc I feel the 300blk was intentionally classed 3-6 with the new reserve in mind. I wont debate on what will be in it when we already have a general idea. Shotguns, 22LR, 22H, 22-250, Bows, 243, 223 & possibly the 300blk will be the core weapons used here.

why not? If its enough to take boar a wolf is easy. But to ea. their own 🤣 of course. I hunt game with the same calibers I do irl in-game regardless of game mechanic classes, so harvest checks and medal's mean nothing to me unless its a quest requirement. Calibers are held hostage to the class lock mechanics but it doesn't effect my gameplay. As we said before ammo options would solve that issue easily. But honestly the new reserve is one I've been dying to get and shorthair is going to be bliss hunting upland game.

Either they've added badgers and haven't mentioned them or there's 3 possibilities that make sense for the region. Either Roe deer, Sika deer, or wild boar.

Can't imagine two types of rabbit/hare on one map, ww know how many birds we got and that's that.

Kinda hoping for Sika Deer instead of Roe Deer. They’re much more well adapted to living in Marshy Environments such as the Salzweisen Salt Marsh and they’re also fairly common throughout most of Europe.

I think that Sika would be the best option for the 1 “bigger” animal. They thrive in Salt Marshes and are found throughout most of Europe in several feral populations. Roe Deer would be good, but they don’t fit the environment as well imo

They shouldve kept them as class 1 in the first place. Nobody is hunting them with a .243 irl if they want to keep anything on the animal. A .243 would probably explode a good portion of a raccoon. I’ve only really heard of people hunting them with rifles like .22, .17, and occasionally .22-250, although not common. Birdshot is one of the most popular rounds for them.

Same for .30-30, no one uses it for anything smaller than deer or feral pigs, but it's used a lot for black bears

Yeah, .30-30 is a really good round for Deer, but anything smaller than a Coyote would probably explode if it got shot by one. Personally I think it needs a bolt-action variant with polymer and soft point rounds. The current variant could remain class 2 - 6 and the bolt action could be class 3 - 7 (so it could take Black Bears and Elk).

Coyotes ought to be class 3. They weigh more than bobcats do and about twice what foxes do

With a rework I hope the coyotes get Black and White as uncommon colors. In the Eastern US they’re fairly common to see. Have Piebald, Melanistic, Albino, Leucistic, and Erythristic be Rares. Coyotes come in a range of colors and it’s lacking now, but I bet EW could absolutely knock it out of the park if they decide to rework them.

I’ve spent plenty of time out here in Idaho hunting them, never shot more than a handful but I’ve seen the variation in their furs. Tan, Red, Brown, even a few that were almost Black in color. The Coyotes, Roe Deer, and Roosevelt Elk are the animals that I want to see remodeled the most just because they’re all showing their age and need a remodel desperately.

EW Salzwiesen Park Stream - My Take Away:
-Salzwiesen map looks beautiful, nice layout, lots of marshy open areas for birds, mini-Hirsch.
-German Shorthaired Pointer looks adorable and realistic. They pee, poo, and flush. Who's a good boy.
-Trap Range is very realistic. Clays seemed too low to the ground, blended with grass instead of sky.
-New O/U Shotgun might be the best sight-picture yet - sloped to put sights above receiver and barrel, not obstructed.
-.300 Blackout is fast and snappy, low recoil, sounds good. Will compete with the .243.
-.450 Bushmaster is a stand-out - low recoil, great sound, smooth reload.
-.375 H&H - Where's the beef? Sound wasn't deep or powerful. Bad irons. But, low recoil, fast reload.
-Weapon weights are great: O/U 10GA-3.5, 300BLK-3, 450-3, 375-4.
-Scopes on all 3 new bolt-actions zero out to 300m. No short-range limits like the Moradi!
