Wapiti might be a better usage instead of Rocky Mountain elk. As the New Zealand elk are unique. They’ve got red deer and elk blood both in them, so they’re not just Rocky mountain elk like they were when they were introduced there, they’re wapiti (that’s their species name)

Their antlers are like a fusion between red deer and elk antlers too in NZ

It’s kind of a niche thing, not too much of a deal. RME works just fine as that’s what they technically are, just a muddled bloodline

With all due respect...I think this is not a good idea. Get rid of the native flightless birds and consider adding chamois, whitetail/fallow deer, sambar and rusa. For birds consider california quail, chukar, paradise ducks and canada geese

if i add chamois te awaroa would be very boring reserve if i add those native bird reserve would be more interseing unique . Its still game .how would this encourage people to hunt them when they can do so in the game?

You're assuming anyone has any interest in hunting them at all. Tigers have been hunted and still are occasionally when they cause issues. These are not
