Hunter, naturalist, conservationist, author, man-eater expert, wildlife protector, and more. Jim Corbett was many things in his lifetime, but to us hunters and nature lovers…he is a legendary figure whose work in the wild and dedication to conservation continues to inspire. Of the things he’s known for his writings of dangerous hunts, vivid depictions of violent maneaters, and most of all thrilling adventures in the jungle.

Now of course, the weapons

**MAUSER 98 IN .257 RIGBY

Class 3-8

Jim Corbett’s signature rifle, very popular in 20th Century India mainly due to how versatile it is, taken things as small as tahr and animals as big as tigers.
Truly the star of this weapon pack.
(Comes with leaf sights)

** W.J. JEFFERY & CO. .450/400NE**
Class 7-9? It’s on the weaker side for express rounds.

While Corbett preferred the .275 Rigby to the Express rounds it still saw regular usage in quite a few famous hunts.
(Comes with leaf sights)

** LEE-ENFIELD NO. 1 .303 BRITISH**

A rifle that embodied versatility, reliability, and power. This iconic firearm was used to an extent on Corbett’s famous Champatwat tiger hunt

Everyone who doesn’t know about Jim Corbett has to read about him or watch a video on him. He is one of the most accomplished hunters ever

If we get that Mauser 98 it should be labeled a 7x57 and Not .275 Rigby. Even though its the same

@tranquil moss i am from Germany . Nobody refers to it as .275 Rigby. But from a Performance Standpoint it doesn't matter thats right

I mean hell, Rigby even has this exact rifle in their office. Why not honor it? (Even then, no company names will be mentioned in the finished product because copy right)

Mostly because i'd be mad If the First 98 we get ingame would be labeled .275. 😂

Although i'd rather have a 98 in 8x57 or 9,3x62

Hello ayoliam!

Thanks for sharing this idea inspired by Jim Corbett's legacy! A Corbett Collection DLC with classic firearms like the Mauser .257 Rigby, W.J. Jeffery .450/400NE, and the Lee-Enfield .303 British would bring a unique, historical vibe to theHunter: Call of the Wild. Adding a 20th-century hunter outfit would complete the immersion perfectly.

I’ll pass this along to the team! Feel free to send more ideas anytime at our support portal: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

@low ledge while i agree when it comes to the system 98 itself this is supposed to be based on a famous Hunter that used a Rigby Mauser rifle in 7x57 Mauser and the rifle itself was Stamped .275 Bore.

Over time it seems gun writers turned that into the .275 Rigby

. 275 Rigby is just the British name for 7x57mm so these are still a perfect match. We'd have polymer tipped ammunition as well as the standby soft point rounds that Corbett used for all his hunts
